I am a physician and have had 30 years experience with head and neck injury.

In certain aspects I disagree with the ME in this case. The ME is a general pathologist. (?? Fellowship training in forensic pathology). He is not a neurosurgeon who treats gunshot wounds to the head. Therefore the ME is in NO position to opine about the clinical outcome of a single 25 caliber bullet to the anterior cranial fossa. This is strictly the purview of a neurosurgeon. PERIOD.

Secondly - as I recall - the autopsy report is "weak" in describing in precise anatomic detail how the bullet fragment/s exited the anterior cranial fossa and what direction the fragments traveled in the left infratemporal fossa. We assume the bullet fragment came to rest in TA left masticator space BUT how it got there, I am unsure based on the autopsy report.

The " bullet first theory" has a lot going for it EXCEPT for the final resting place of the casing. The discussion about hemorrhage at the entry wound, the leptomeninges, the right frontal lobe white and grey matter is simply NOT probative. The bullet missed the anterior cerebral artery, the supraclinoid carotid artery, the middle meningeal artery, and the superior sagittal sinus - all sources of luxuriant hemorrhage. The precise path through the right frontal lobe and right gyrus rectus is UNKNOWN. This is in part due to the liquefactive necrosis that occurs post mortem.

Quod erat demonstrandum.

I would like an experienced trauma neurosurgeon to weigh in on this matter.

Here at websleuths we tend to me a little less formal.

"QED" will do. :seeya:

I would like an experienced trauma nerosurgeon to have performed or at least observed the post-mortem examination of the deceased.

But I don't always get what I like.

Hello. I think of myself as a good person, btw... :-) While we're having these technical difficulties, I have a few questions:
1. Where did Jodi tell people she was going that night (the dude who loaned her gas cans (((in exchange for what, btw))) )?
2. Do you think Jodi went there to kill Travis cuz' she'd had it with him, or do you think she gave Travis some sort of 'choice', such as 'Take me to Cancun or else'? At what point did Jodi have her decision to murder Travis firmly set--what was 'the point of no return' for Jodi?
3. Why did Jodi say she thought Travis was going to take a babysitter to Cancun - who needed babysitting?
4. Could I get some good links, please, to detailed descriptions of all of the jurors? tyia
5. What do we know about Jodi's family: What are they really like? How does her mom feel? Have any of Jodi's family members stated publicly that they think Jodi has been a bigtime pathological liar all through her life??

Uhhh I'm gonna go Superbowl-2013-power-outage-conspiracy on this and blame the San Francisco 49ers... :dunno: hehehe

I thought it was Beyonce's fault?

Let's just blame Willmott, she hasn't been getting her due share of critisism lately.

This is going to be sooooo interesting to see her demeanor. When she is on direct, she gets spoonfed and gets to ramble on. On cross - she spent most of the time evading and qualifying answers and trying to pretend Juan was confusing her. Can't go with the 48 hours 'tude either. What is she going to do now? She can't interact with the jury to clarify and spin. And she has to be super super duper resepctful. So I guess she has to reinvent herself yet again. Ugh.

BBM Yeah, but are you WS Verified? (Sorry, I couldn't resist)

Thank you so much for this post... while I don't understand all the terms you use, I get the gist of it and appreciate the info. Basically, you lean towards 'shot last' but it's not as probable as many think (based on the ME's findings - which could have been a lot more detailed). So we still don't know.

Thank you, Zeno49.

I can't hear anything now but I could earlier when the Judge said the mics weren't working. :(

Yeah, that's when her mic was working.

Now it's either not, or it's been de-activated.

Can't wait to see what voice Jodi uses for this

Oh COME ON!!!!!!

  • #359
Couldn't they of had these discussions while waiting to get the mic fixed? I mean really, we are 26 minutes behind on a HALF day here!
