I went back and listened on the phone sex conversation just to make sure I had this right. She asks him if he was coming to visit her before he goes to Cancun. He said that's his plan and that she is at the top of the list. That call was May 10th. He didn't go. His email was hacked and he sent her text on May 25 or 26th telling her how upset he was. That’s the one he calls her a sociopath in. Her grandparents house was robbed and the .25 caliber gun was taken May 28th. I think the text from him set her off on the plan to kill him.

Absolutely. Travis really gave her hell in those messages because the gig was up. He was calling her on everything, he was livid with her and said the punishment would be worse than the ________ (can't remember the word but I want to say 'crime'?).

My question is if someone could tell me, were these texts admitted into trial as evidence to show motive for the killing?

Just like you, I'm mostly fine with my daughter watching since I'm a lawyer and she's interested in the law, in general, for that reason. I thought it was the "safe" excuse Travis gave her when he told her he was taking Mimi. Mimi didn't want a r'ship yet he was still taking her and I thought she mentioned in her testimony that Travis explained that a family with a little girl were also going...so maybe he said she could baby sit the little girl and still come along with no strings attached. Just my guess...

But, I think she was so viciously jealous of MiMi because she thought Travis really liked her and thought he had found the woman of his dreams... I don't think she knew that Mimi didn't feel the same way about Travis, and that she just wanted to be friends...

In fairness, I think it depends on the kid. Mine happens to be very interested in the justice system. I support his interests in any way I can.

I don't mind him watching because I need him to know what can happen when you don't go with your instincts ... And choosing instead to listen to biological urges.

I recognize all kids are different. I would never say to someone that they should have their kid watch this trial.

I haven't read up in the thread but evidently that poster is passing judgement on you because your child has watched the trial? For real? Are we back in kindergarden?? (we are way past middleschool with this).

It's probably someone left over from the court tv boards that like to do nothing but pick fights. Most of us have grown up some since then but obviously some have not. It's ridiculous, IMO!

Fortunately there's no rule that we all must have the same sense of humor.

And I think it's extremely insulting to suggest that members who post on the threads for this trial think this case is funny. If there are posts that are truly inappropriate they should be alerted for a mod to check out. If they are not your personal style you can scroll by and ignore. But really, to suggest that the members here don't take this trial seriously or whatever the insinuation is is just rude.

In any forum like this, there always are going to be a handful of people who try to stir the pot or insult the majority. I'm not speaking of anyone in particular, but that is the nature of the beast.

I am one of the first people who gets uncomfortable when the talk of genitals, body functions and things like that go overboard. It is absolutely not that I am a prude, but that I just am always worried about victims families reading here. However, I also realize that we don't all think alike. I admit that I find some things said here absolutely insulting and rude. But, I guess we just have to consider the source and move on.

I completely agree with you on what you said and guess you can work together with me to keep trying to get past some of this form of Internet bullying where people just come here to attack. I think that WS does one heck of a job of weeding those types of people out and we have a pretty good group here now.

Bits of mostly unrelated-to-the-cris humor are probably necessary and appropriate from time to time, but potty jokes that even a middle-schooler finds immature (and I agree with her) diminishes the credibility of anything that this site hopes to accomplish, if anything. jmo

I disagree. People can distinguish between humor and serious discussion. I'm not crazy about some of the potty humor myself, but it doesn't diminish the valuable information here.

I think that the word is used like so many of her words - incorrectly. She likes to make it look like she is such a fabulous linguist. She's just a 2 bit con/killer who somehow discovers words and uses them, hoping that those hearing these words won't know what they mean. (I would have said "big words", but edify isn't that big).

She sounded authentically nervous to me... Shocker, I know, but all I could think about what that voice mail* tape she left on Travis' cell hours after killing him.

I guess it's nerve-wracking* to lie to the faces of the people who have your life in their hands. Thankfully, that is one experience I will never have. Guess the suicide 'goal' has worn off.

The lack of emotion was damning - especially when she was failing at her attempt to show what happened using the floor plan. Stimulants tend to make people more animated, emphasizing emotion, generally imv...

I just think she was plain ol' scared witless.

I would seem awfully reckless and extremely unlikely imv that she would be given stimulants for one day, especially this day and especially if she's not on them normally. jmv
