Old timey Baptists use "edifying" as an adjective to mean inspiring or soul strengthening, as in "Pastor, your sermon sure was edifying this morning." The word may be used among LDS folks in a unique way too.

That very well may be the case with the LDS, which is perfect since in your example sentence edify was used correctly. A sermon can educate, illuminate, or impress upon someone a religious/moral belief. Jodi keeps talking about edifying Travis, but in the context of being outside his presence and speaking of him in a positive light to someone else. She clearly isn't using edify correctly

I always wondered why Jodie kept referring to Mimi as the babysitter. I always took it as dig. Jodi has to get her pokes at everyone.

BBM

I think you have that backward.

JA made up a story about her supposed belief that TA was taking a friend's babysitter to Cancun.

Gus Searcy, the one and only mentor to Jodi Ann Arias, would-be PPL wunderkind, is a legend in his own mind.

John Dixon lived in San Diego, IIRC.

And for some reason he owed that babysitter lots of money??? What was with that?

She clearly says here that she used the Olympus to make the video. It's cued up to start at minute-mark 27

I am so imbued in her bullchit that I can't keep up with it all. Seems when she can't convince me, she just confuses me instead!!!

I think it goes without saying that the same can be said for me!
I (think) it'll be a relief when she's finally off the stand. Not looking forward to the experts - except during cross...

My time for :offtobed: too. Thanks everyone for a great day. Looking forward to tomorrow!

That is freaking hilarious! Maybe she should have stuck with that career path :giggle:. She seems to have lost her noodle when it comes to trial commentary.

I have a huge seething dislike for Jean Le Grand/Jean Casarez from a personal standpoint. Won't go into here since it is sooooooo O/T.

My dd has been watching the jury's questions and just watched your youtube with me thinking it would have something legitimate to do with that. She didn't find it funny. She wants to know if y'all are in middle school, too. She's serious.

A friend of mine once said, many years ago, I'm flying blind with a middle school mind.

The first part of the video is serious the second part is true and comic relief.

BTW, if laughing at that is middle school, then the whole trial watchers thread is full of middle schoolers. :laughcry:

I'm not religious. No propensity to be. ~BUT~ It really irks me every time Jodi mentions her 'connection' to Mormonism.

Now, if she regaled us with stories of being an outcast from the Middle-Earth Lizard creatures who ascend in human form to reek havoc, I'd totally believe it. The eyes are the give away.

Yes, I agree.

I would ask if Travis paid her (Jodi) for sex. Because it seems she was with many men and trolled them along.

Travis, Ryan B., Gus S., MM, Dixon, the "camping trip" guys...add more that I missed !

And for some reason he owed that babysitter lots of money??? What was with that?

Jodi had about 22 hours to rehearse what her answers to the juror's questions would be.

It's been driving me crazy trying to figure out what Jodi's testimony, today, reminded me of and it just hit me while I was watching Nancy Grace tonight and seeing some of what went on in the courtroom today

Today Jodi sounded just like she was a contestant in the Miss America pageant. Does she think the Judge is Bert Parks?

What in the world is a middle schooler doing looking at that for anyway? You gotta wonder....:what:

I think that is correct, having heard Jodi and Travis both use it in the same unusual manner. I believe that Ryan also used "edify" in this way in one of the text messages and/or in his testimony.

Thank You! The inappropriate use of edify has been quite annoying to me. Don't use a word you don't know the meaning to and don't try to impress the jury with your vocabulary when it seems you don't even understand the meaning of the terms you're using.

I just uploaded this to my Youtube account;

Please like it! :thumb:

The second question... You know it's coming, you've heard it before, but it doesn't get old. It never will.

I want that as my ringtone, "What is your understanding of the word 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬?" As read by Judge Stephens. Just brilliant.

Bravo on the video, as well!

I have been told by network executives that they are planning to cancel it soon.
