I have the same RX as Jodi.

I can see distance up to 5-7 feet without my glasses but it is blurry. Up close I can see fine.

ATTN EYE DOCTORS IF THERE AR ANY OUT HERE:

My RX in my best eye is -4.25

I can't find my glasses if I take them off. I have to squat/squint/feel around for them.

Q: How bad would her vision be with her stated RX??

If anyone else has same RX as her or close, that will work for an answer..THANKS!

So I haven't been able to watch the trial as closely as I would like. Why was the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 question asked? What was that in reference to?

  • #1,063
No lectures. Just legitimate reactions. I thought it was interesting to view what the adults on this site think is humorous through the eyes of a young person who's watching the trial machinations from a distance. Interesting thing was, she usually disagrees with me on general principal due to her age, so I was completely expecting her to think that video was hilarious (I didn't share my view of it before hand as we watched it together).

Also, she thinks Jodi's guilty as he** and STILL doesn't find the video and the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 references funny.

If you have a problem with a post, please alert the mods!

Some people think some things are funny, others do not. Do we really need to go on all night about a 2 minute video? I think not. Today was a huge day in the court, yet, this is all you have to talk about, is how we all post? Not right. Again, the mods job is regulate the boards, not ours. I didn't like some of the conversation the other day and I knew to hit that red triangle, the alert button. Use it if you feel the need.

When it's potty humor, like the definition of "🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬," I defer to my kids. It's just not funny to me at my age. Under any circumstances for any reason -- especially in a murder trial. That a juror would ask a question like that is a sad commentary on the quality of jurors in Maricopa county, imo. Yes, let's define "🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬" so we can decide whether to sentence you to death. Seriously??? My point was that even my 14 yo gets that.

What I really would like to know is why her defense team didn't object to having that question asked? Does this mean they didn't find it inappropriate?

Serious question.

My sister's vision is so awful I asked her what her numbers are she is: -7.25 left eye and -6.50 right eye... She always wears contacts but if she has an issue and needs glasses she wears the glasses in the shower because the fog is better than being without her glasses! I asked her to try and gauge JA's vision impairment but my sister's is so much worse I really can't use her as a comparison so thanks for the reference! Your daughters numbers are much more similar!

I just asked my husband - his Rx is the same. He confirmed no driving without...esp at night.

Absolutely. Travis really gave her hell in those messages because the gig was up. He was calling her on everything, he was livid with her and said the punishment would be worse than the ________ (can't remember the word but I want to say 'crime'?).

My question is if someone could tell me, were these texts admitted into trial as evidence to show motive for the killing?

I don't know , but they should be! Wow Good goin" Call Juan!! I mean it! :rocker:

There was a call at 8:16 p.m. on June 3 from Jodi to Travis that lasted 2 minutes. She claims this is when she told him that she is coming to Arizona (at his request/guilting). Her phone then went silent for 20 hours.

I do not believe she told him she was coming because that would have given Travis 8 hours to tell someone else that Jodi was coming, and she was very determined to be a ghost in Arizona.

This time she planned on cutting more than his car tires. She should be in isolation when she gets to prison. It would only be a matter of time before she hurts another inmate.

That would be me. I have -2.0 in both right and left eyes. Like Jodi, I am nearsighted. I would NEVER take a long drive without my glasses, and to give you an example why, Once I charged out of the house in the morning in my houseslippers and no glasses or purse to drive my kids 6 blocks to the bus stop so they would be there in time to catch the bus.

On the way home I turned the wrong way down a one way street, BECAUSE I COULD NOT READ THE SIGNS. Lucky for me a cop saw me, pulled me over, and because I had not brought my purse (no license), off to the police station I went (in my car, following him) for a double ticket.

I don't drive without glasses or contacts because I CANNOT READ SIGNS. This is not at all feasible for a road trip on the highway, and my prescription is not as severe as Jodi's.

That is my experience.

The question about Ryan Burns saying when he met Jodi in March of 2008 at a PPL convention and her hair was blonde... And she had a typical snooty answer... Something like,

"anyone who knows anything, know that the PPL convention is in April every year NOT March so Ryan is obviously mistaken"

Well, apparently Jodi is the one who doesn't know what she is taking about!!! Take a look at this!! In 2008 the convention was in MARCH!!

A few pages back I said Jodi sounded like a Miss America contestant today. She's a real piece of work!

I was thinking that too today after trial. It reminded me exactly in her responses & the judge's questions. Whew, I'm not the only one.

eta, I was waiting for the Queen Mary hand wave too.

Unless Jodi's optometrist appears on the stand and swears under oath that Jodi is a -2.5, she's LYING.

Did we ever figure out where "🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬" even came from? Was that word used previously in the case? I don't remember it, but it must have been, no? Would a juror just outright ask that? I think that's why it was so shocking. None of us really remember that word being used before today and it could have been worded much more eloquently.

I could be wrong but iirc JA and Travis were on the phone and one of his friends or roommates came into the room he was in, she said to tell that person hello and that person said something like "hello 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬". Though in her first account of how that happened she said Travis called her a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 but during cross Juan set it straight that it was actually the roommate.

I believe that was the origin of the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 in this case.

I wanna see her face close-up when they prove that! There's no way he could have body slammed or even curse her! In the condition he was in!
I wanna see her face! She's convinced herself that she is going to pull the wool over the jurors and forensic experts!
Bring it on jodi

I seem to remember Nurmi objecting to one of JA's answers. Can someone refresh my memory on the question and answer. TIA

I ain't apologizing for my sense of humor! It's gotten me through some of the darkest days of my life and without it, I wouldn't even be able to follow this trial.

Mine runs the gamut depending on my mood.

Sometimes people's humor gets a wee bit edgy in here - I usually think things are funny - even the things I personally wouldn't say. We're all human (well, except maybe one of us... )

I love our silliness (oh, by the way, Steely - there's no "think" about it. We know). :)

It's almost always rejuvenating imv and we all seem pretty passionate on seeing justice done here, so I don't think getting a little wacky does a disservice or disrespects his family or means that we aren't truly somber about the horrific crime done to him.

I've said before - the humor in here keeps me closer to sane while watching this trial.

I think it came from one of Jodi and Travis' conversations...where she supposedly said to say hi to his roommate, Travis relayed it and he replied "He said Hi 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬...just kidding" IIRC
