Do we know if any of JA's family has visited her while in jail over the past 4+ years...particularly her mother who has been in court every day?
You know I kinda felt bad for JA mom yesterday! As jodi was was telling the jury that she did not have a good relationship with her mom ! Her mom sat there listening to her ungrateful daughter! It's her
mother who has been there everyday giving of herself to show support! Making sure theres money on her books ! so she could eat better food. But JA has not acknowledged her presence in court day after day!
Instead she JA takes every opportunity to stare down the family of travis or anyone else she doesn't like she fixates her stare on them. Real skerry broad?
I don't like that her mom and aunt laugh in court! Maybe there's something in that family off! As her mom was listening to JA! She was blank!

I also noticed that the aunt had a weird smile smirk at an inappropriate time! As JA was answering questions! Like a proud aunt.
JA has problems with anyone in authority!
Her parents, the prosecutor! Anyone that challenges her! She lacks respect for them as we'll as herself.

It seems to me that many people don't realize that she's not spinning this story to save her skin. She knows it's not going to work.

She is doing this to hurt his family and friends who were the ones who tried to get him to break up with her.

I thought it was very strange that she overheard them telling him that he needed to dump her, she came in the room and gave them an evil look and basically this is her way of "winning."

Almost like, you wanted to stop me from seeing him? You wanted to play this game? Well guess what, I'm going to cut him up in little pieces and destroy him, not just his body, but every single part of him down to the way people think about him.

She's giddy over the power she has demonstrated in the entire situation. Sick beyond belief.

This is a vicious ongoing form of revenge against him and his friends and family.

Of course my mother did not: and I think Jodi Arias is a psychopath or a sociopath. I am offended by her exploitation. She does not act like someone who has been abused, not in any way, and yet she's claiming she was.

My point was never that JA is innocent, because she is not - not even by her own admission. I know this is a pro-victim site, and I am pro- the victim. I wish that Travis Alexander may rest in peace, but my issue was with the way some people have been treating TA like a saint and angel whose behaviour and the way it affects the case cannot be discussed at all.
So if she's lying about his abuse of her...it stands to reason she could well be lying about his alleged pedophilia too.

I personally prefer to believe the hundreds of accounts I've read of Travis prior to trial, written by co-workers, friends, acquaintances, and family, than believe any account of a self-serving, manipulative psychopath.

MOO

Because her responses open the door for Nurmi to question her on more things. He wants to limit that.

Agreed, but I think he should have let her ramble about the emotions during the stabbing. Which she said she doesn't remember.

Listening to her answers, It is so obvious she is lying. People that tell the truth don't tell sonnets, and stories when they answer a yes or no question.

:what: Jodi said she did not touch the shelf. She ran, stepped on the edge of a lower shelf and grabbed the gun without touching the shelf. :what: if you can believe that, just saying.

I have similar shelving (white) and I need to hold on the the shelf standing on a step stool. :what:

My closet is 16 feet long and I was going to try what she claims she did, but being kind of a "fluffy" lady, I was afraid I would break the lower shelf, or fall on my a$$ & break something.

That was her original testimony, however yesterday she said she grabbed one of the shelves with one hand -- probably because her lawyers told her that LE did not collect fingerprints from the shelves, and she knew that her first story was completely implausible.

Maybe one of the questions that came in yesterday was "when you dropped off those groceries on Bobby's door unexpectedly and rang the doorbell, did you also slash his tires like you usually do when you do that kind of thing?"

She sort of admitted to stalking there didn't she?

I just want to preface what I'm about to write by saying that I do not intend to blame the victim.

Travis Alexander did not deserve to die, but he was recorded on audio saying that 12-year old girls arouse him. And it's pretty clear that he was, with all due respect, kind of a creep towards women.

I just feel like the coverage of this case is so black in white, painting Travis as a saint and Jodi as the devil itself.

To be clear: I believe that Jodi Arias should be locked up forever and have the key thrown away. Travis Alexander did not deserve to die, he did not deserve to be stalked. She mutilated him. I find it incredibly hard to believe that she killed him in self-defense.

But I do believe that Jodi is telling the truth about his pedophilia and abuse, based on the evidence. Just because he was also attracted to full-grown women does not make him less of a pedophile. The victim was obviously not some kind of angel or saint. Can we stop portraying him as one? It is demeaning to abuse victims everywhere to minimize the danger of pedophilia.

Is there any room for someone with my opinion on this forum? Everyone is baying for blood >>
:twocents:

On an illegally taped phone call (at least where I live) Travis made an inappropriate comment about Jodi's overblown climax as sounding like a 12 year old girls first one. I agree that any reference to some 12 year old girls sexuality by a grown man is disturbing. No question about it. I do think you have to put it in context to who the man was and who he was uttering this disturbing comment to however. For all I know, Jodi (who was taping the call to blackmail him later) stated at the onset she had a fantasy where she wanted him to talk to her like she was a naughty schoolgirl right before she hit the record button. So the foolish unsuspecting man did.
Jodi is the only one alleging Travis had any sexual experience prior to meeting up with her. So on the word of a pathological liar,we're to believe that Travis had more lovers than she who lost her virginity at the age of what 15? His family and specifically his brother who likely knows him better than Jodi ever did, was under the impression he was a 30 year old virgin. He was attempting to follow the doctrines of a strict religion where chastity before marriage was expected.
He met up with a woman with no moral compass and no boundaries and he allowed his small head to dictate over his big one. In doing so, he became guilty of a crime committed by maybe 98% of all grown men at one time in their life or another. I can forgive him for that.
As far as his being a pedophile, where is there a shred of evidence of that? Oh and Jodis word doesn't count. She lies about everything including this, her biggest lie to date. What is your evidence to disparage the dead with then?

So it's the overkill aspect of the crime. One knife wound is not as sensational as 27 plus a gun shot coupled with the rage and you got people's attention.

I am interested in human nature, in what makes people tick. A jealous lover killing his or her partner is a crime but it is easier to understand. The punishment is there to fit the crime but it is the killers who appear remorseless, who are empty shells that intrigue me. Is there some way society can reach these people as kids, are there signs we can note and try to rehabilitate them as youngsters? Is it a physical abnormality in the brain or a chemical imbalance while en vitro?

I also want to see these types of killers brought to justice early on because at this point (until we understand more about the psychopathy) I believe that this type of killer will kill again.

It has occurred to me plenty that she is not trying to spin a convincing story for her own sake - that she is simply trying to inflict more damage to further her revenge motive.

even yesterday she said there was 'a child travis was very close to.' i almost put my fist through my computer!!!!!

she never misses a chance to trash him some more. she left an implication there that's nauseating to me, all the while saying she didn't tell the truth because she wanted to spare his family and friends from knowing what he really was. i really, really HATE this woman. i've never seen anything like her.

commspecialist:

It really is hard to come to a forum where 99% of the posters have a different opinion. And with those different opinions, it is like a courtroom. One side trying to convince the other side of their view/evidence/non-evidence. And it can get passionate.

I really appreciate your input, and am so sorry for what you had to go through. I do not think Travis was a saint. I think he was a good human being, but a man with incredible tendencies. I think he definitely did some wrong things. But, he did not deserve what happened to him. JA should have just left him. But, being how obsessed and sociopathic she was, she couldn't. When the two of them mixed, it was a disaster for Travis. But she needs to pay for what she did.

Commspecialist - you absolutely are welcome here with a different opinion, that's what makes this site wonderful! I actually would be disturbed by that comment and reports (by Jodi) that TA was a pedophile if I didn't know, with 100% certainty, that Jodi is a documented, and admitted liar. I can't trust a single word she says, and neither can anyone else, she has given noone any reason to believe she would tell the truth about anything. Therefore, her comment about TA being a pedo is false, in my opinion. She makes up lies to suit her, that's what she does. I can't say everything out of her mouth is a lie except that one thing. That doesn't make sense to me.

Jodi is an admitted liar, therefore I must conclude that everything she says is a lie. We will never actually know what happened that day because the one person who could give us another viewpoint (notice I didn't say give us the truth because somewhere between two sides of story lies the truth) to consider is dead.

The comment on that phone call was a heat of passion comment and not to be construed as anything TA has acted upon. In fact, were it not for Jodi being a willing participant, TA probably wouldn't ever have fulfilled any of his fantasies.

MOO :)
