100 questions from the jury: Arias answering on her 17th day on the stand #76

JA needs to learn/remember the old adage "When you dig yourself into a hole, the first thing you should do is throw out the shovel".

I've never been a criminal defendant on the witness stand, but as a part of my work, was frequently called upon to give depositions or testify in legal proceedings. Every time I was reminded beforehand by the company attorney to answer the question asked - nothing more, nothing less. I can't help but think JA has been given this advice and has disregarded it. Stupid wench, she is...

Think what one will of her defense team, they have an impossible job between an indefensible crime and a client that thinks she is smarter than them! I have visions of the DT wanting to stand up and scream "Take this job and shove it"....

I just feel like the coverage of this case is so black in white, painting Travis as a saint and Jodi as the devil itself.

To be clear: I believe that Jodi Arias should be locked up forever and have the key thrown away. Travis Alexander did not deserve to die, he did not deserve to be stalked. She mutilated him. I find it incredibly hard to believe that she killed him in self-defense.

But I do believe that Jodi is telling the truth about his pedophilia and abuse, based on the evidence. Just because he was also attracted to full-grown women does not make him less of a pedophile. The victim was obviously not some kind of angel or saint. Can we stop portraying him as one? It is demeaning to abuse victims everywhere to minimize the danger of pedophilia.

Is there any room for someone with my opinion on this forum? Everyone is baying for blood

Jodi's defense in this case is that she was abused by Travis. It is not about his sexual needs or proclivities in those sexual needs. As horrific pedophilia is, it is not the reason for her defense in this trial yet she chooses to do everything in her power to make the victim one. Why? Because she has nothing. People on here and from the other places I have visited and read are tired of the current trend in which defense attorneys and their clients trashing the victim because they have nothing else and they can get away with it. According to the Mormon church he isn't a saint, to a great many he is just a normal male. She was wronged according to her, so what, pretty much everyone feels that they are victims of that. There has been no reason thus far to prove he deserved the death he got. There is plenty to prove she deserves the death she might get.

I recently read a blog written in June of 2008 from a friend of his which states:
Oh man, remember that time you commented on the guy's picture in Jack-in-the-Box because he looked like a child molestor? And then we found out the guy had passed away and the plaque was in memory of him. Foot in mouth moment Travis. You had tons of those.

Even though it pedophilia is not her defense and doesn't matter one iota in this case I wanted to point out this written word to show why I don't think he was one. He doesn't seem to be what she claims so people have the need to push back so hard to defend him themselves, since he is not here to defend himself, in which may come off as making him a saint. It is the nature of the beast. Because of her actions, lies and portrayal of herself as a saint yes, it makes me bay for blood as you put it.

I just caught something I'd previously missed. JA says she wanted to commit suicide in whatever area and was leaving for that place on the day she was arrested. So she's saying she was arrested the day she wanted to kill herself. Oh boy!

I just can't with her about the suicide thing after she said the razorblade nick was so painful, she had to stop. Astonishing gall.

God bless JM and his sledgehammer following that comment. 29 wounds and a deep throat cut and you have the nerve to whine about smarting from a Bic shaver? Gutless wonder.

When the trial started i was embarrassed. I have lived in California my whole 48 years of life and mispronounced that City since I was little.

Then I realized I'm thinking of two different places...hers Yreka (long Y sound lone E sound) And Eureka, CA. How strange! I had never heard of Yreka til now.

Ha! Ha! Me, too! I thought I had been mispronouncing Eureka wrong all this time. :seeya:

I havent been here long enough to be sure whether this post will be OT, appropriate, or acceptable and hope I don't break any rules here but compelled to risk it....

I realize that all opinions are welcome here, but c'mon!!!

I keep seeing it said "TA was no saint" "He was not an angel" etc

In all my reading and following of this case, I've not once seen anything like this said by anyone ever!

According to those who knew him best he was a good man. He was kind man. He was generous to a fault. He was charming and the life of the party. He was a man that would give you the shirt off his back and a man that not only aspired to find the best in himself, but wanted to help others do the same. He was also a man who had consensual sex with someone that was aware and in agreement that it was 'casual sex' as opposed to lovemaking.

Saint? No one has said that, but I think its pretty clear that Travis Alexander was a remarkable human being. Most of us, if we are lucky, have someone in our lives that just stands out as so special, and from what we see, Travis was this person to those that knew him.

/rant over - sorry folks!

AMEN! Thank you for this. As others have already responded to your post he was human and he had flaws but that does not take away from the good man he was. It does not give anyone the right to tarnish his name for any reason and make him into a monster. He overcame a difficult past and was constantly evolving.
I think it's devestating that a psychopathic murderer and her legal team are allowed to create a story and paint a picture of this man's life and legacy but fortunately most folks see past the hideous defense games and learn about who Travis really was. Hopefully when the jury finds her guilty they will put the official stamp on her story, telling everyone loud and clear -- she will NEVER BE BELIEVED and Travis gets the final word.

I do think that one of the new juror questions will be about the gun, in holster or not? yesterday you said it was, today you said it wasn't, which is it?

The court should throw out the pedophilia claim.

Besides, he was into young boys etc... why would he have sex with a woman.

And please bring up Cancun, jealousy because that seems to rattle her cage.

I'm almost glad they allowed the pedophilia stuff in, as sick as it is. If they had just stopped at the abuse and rape BS, someone on the jury might actually buy it. The problem is they just didn't know when to stop. The pics on the bed, the boys underwear stuff, it's just to OTT. Why WOULD a man who likes children be having kinky sex with a woman? Why would he dress her like a child but also French maid? Why keep seeing someone like that? Why feed into the fantasy, the sickness that made you "throw up a few times" Not to mention the texrs from that day. This pedophilia lie may be her undoing.

I loved the question about looking up gas stations online before her trip. Super.

I was hoping the follow up would be ....While you were at it ... You could have GOOGLED which sex acts are included in the vow of chastity.

I wish the Judge would let the public know what the court schedule is so we wont be so confused. Judge Perry used to do that.

I do like how this Judge reads out the questions to JA.
