Maybe the jury asked about her relationship with her parents to see how it would affect them if she got the DP. Or her. Since she just couldn't summon any emotional links to them to this day it just might make it easier for them.

IMO, speaking as someone that served on a 1st deg murder trial, the pressure of knowing that someone's life is in your hands is very real. It looks like a slam dunk from us out here, but when you are there and the one that has to decide...it really changes.

I believe that the questions were, for the most part (not all), a way of alleviating any doubt of what they heard and hoping to give her just one last chance to come clean. They can look back and say, I tried. I really tried.

Knowing that they can proceed w/a heavy decision. :moo:
