I think if the jury finds one thing to be the ultimate lie it will be this story. I have never been choked but I would expect it to be terrifying and you would do anything to stop the person.
Her saying she was trying to stop him but actually was thinking that she didn't want to hurt him(however she said it) was insulting to anyone's intelligence.

... and we mustn't forget the latest addition to this fairy story. When she awoke, her first thought was "Where is Napoleon?" WTF?

So, we could probably figure out where she stopped beyond Mesa to wash off her bloody hands and dispel the FOG by seeing how many miles she can go from Pasadena to Mesa and beyond on a tank of gas.

She would have stopped to fill her tank from the gas cans at some point.

If that's where she threw the gun into the desert, we technically could have a shot at finding it by doing the math.

IMO

It would be interesting to know if a search was conducted to locate all the items she disposed of. I'm sure there was to some extent. It's quite likely she stopped in the wee hours of the morning on a deserted road, bagged all the evidence and cleaned up and disposed of the bagged evidence closer to Ryan's location or anywhere in between. I would be more inclined to believe she got rid of everything before the checkpoint though. So that would narrow down the search somewhat if that were the case. I guess at this point it's irrelevant as they have her confession and that's what matters most. Her lies account for much also as I can see her heading to death row. MOO

Okay, google is totally not my friend today, does anyone have a link handy (by handy I mean something you've saved or have direct access to, don't wish to create work for anyone) of the first three receipts Juan showed Jodi with regards to gas. If not, anyone know what day of testimony that was, I'll check out the vid.

TIA!!

The receipts were entered into evidence on Day 5 through Special Agent Nathan Mendes.
I listed all the receipts and included links to photos of the receipts as well as Special Agent Mendes' testimony from day 5 in the receipts thread here.

My recollection is that Sheriff Joe at some point limited the hours for legal visits (but they were still longer hours than for non-legal visits). There was a challenge in the court system, which was unsuccessful. But there are still evening visitation hours, and also Fridays I believe are set aside exclusively for lawyer visits.

ok, thank you! My guess is Mr Nurmi is up and having breakfast and plans to visit her. He might want to ask if she has any other accounts, or purchases they might want to know about.

Not that she will tell him. I venture to guess her answer will be "I don't know"

I think he didn't ask her specifically what she bought because he's going to let her lie and then BAZINGA!

I was thinking the same thing. What I find odd is that JA obviously knew where Juan was going with this line of questioning and what he was trying to imply to the jury and I was very surprised that she did not blurt out that the $19.65 charge was for food, drinks etc.

Would be nice to know the date for video, Jodi at what ever time this was taken seemed to be just as involved as everyone else, other than dancing herself. Others were not dancing as well.

Walmart... If she presented receipt there would be a line through the gas can purchase if she did not use the receipt it would have been store credit. Period . That is walmart policy.

If Travis was going to get a gun, it would be some cool-a$$ gun that all his friends would want to try out...

he wouldn't go get some girlie little unregistered pistol that shoots short range.

who believes any of this bunk? if this jury goes sideways...I am leaving the planet!

so there.

My understanding is that Walmart will give a cash return on anything under $25 without a receipt. So no receipt given the refund would not be on file.

Wal-Mart would still have to have an internal record for the return, which according to Juan they do not have any records of a gas can being returned that day at all.

that makes no sense. How would they account for the missing money in the drawer? Ive worked in retail for years and you have to have SOME sort of paper trail unless you want to be accused if stealing money.

And there was a poster yesterday who works for Wal-Mart and they stated that there would be SOME sort of footprint. They dont just hand you money for anything you might bring in to "return"

I think the OP means that if a refund is given without a cash receipt, that the original transaction would no longer be on file. What does happen if there is no receipt is that a record of the return along with the customer's identification such as driver's license is kept on file, and will pop up the next time the customer attempts another return without a receipt. Only so many per rolling time period are allowed.

One friend who was on a show last night did mention that Travis said that Jodi was smothering him.

yes and he said she used to sneak in his house and hide in his closet. he would come home from a date and find her sleeping in his bed. sometimes he would find her on the couch downstairs. besides hacking into email.

Like maybe an Amazon purchase for, "How to Get Away with Murder?"

wow. i watched this last night but only JM's part since i missed part of it. this morning i watched nurmi. BAD JOB!!!!!! so she HIDES her shaking????? :floorlaugh:
now wouldn't that be something you'd want the jury to see? what a boob. also, the gun is now a SECRET gun. how convenient! she literally has an answer for everything. sure sign of a liar.
huge fail on nurmi's part. he should have shut up and sit down long ago. at this point, i would imagine the jury despises him and i'm pretty sure they despise his lying, murdering client too.

I wish these things could be entered into evidence by the persons testimony. If she is allowed to ramble on about what Travis said and did with NO evidence, WHY can't a live person, a friend get on the stand and talk about what Travis told them.

Much of her entire testimony is hearsay

I think at this point it doesn't matter what the hours are at that gas station and it doesn't matter what she says she bought. JM put the idea in the jurors' heads that it is a possibility. From what people in the courtroom say, they respect JM. He really could present it as a slam dunk even if he doesn't have any other information to back it up and they'd still probably believe him over the defense.

Yeah, it's just more circumstantial evidence for premeditation. Right now, she's practically buried in such evidence. And hopefully, it will bury her literally.
