Agree. But.....does anyone actually read the stickies....?!?
We are going to need a sticky regarding daylight savings time.

:truce:

Quick question about the jury. They don't have to go back until Wed, so can they go back to work on Monday and Tuesday? Were they able to go back to work of the Fridays also?

My job would be a freaking mess if I was gone this long.

I think it's huge because Arias just told them hours ago she only lied before the trial started. The rest of the lies were sort of a matter of opinion. This one can be proved (beyond a reasonable doubt). It will nullify ALL of her testimony - she has lost their trust forever. She is toast.

I think the lies about the margarita glass and the employer being small and private and not requiring accident report forms is helping too. :great:

Ok I am just getting caught up so I haven't read all of this thread yet. So forgive me if this has been discussed.

Something has been bothering me and I don't know if it has already been brought up and discussed. The remote control that was in her car has always bugged me. Someone help me please. Wasn't a DVD player also stolen from the grandparents house? I don't know if this if a fact or I have dreamed it.

I know we probably would never have the gun but if this DVD player showed up at DB's house Ie: gift for the kid.... It would be Awesome!! :great:

I have a feeling Juan was going somewhere with this during his cross but it just never went anywhere.. What do you guys think?

I think you're exactly correct. I also think that JM is saving this to pull out of his back pocket in his rebuttal case.

websurfer

I always knew I was invisible...
nobody answers my gas cans and gas Q?
~~~~~~~~~~
Oh no websurfer, you're not! This thing goes so fast I skip 5 - 10 pages sometimes. What was your question again?
Oooooooohhhh -- in the receipts they recovered, there were two receipts for gas in SLC, but the third was not among the receipts she saved? And now we've seen that there were 3 purchases, so she was obviously actively trying to conceal that she had 3 gas cans.
That's pretty huge, if that's what you're saying -- not so much because she wasn't in a fog, but because she was very actively trying to conceal her premeditation -which only serves to prove it.
Correct Minor. She got rid of that third receipt. But Juan still found it in her bank records. Luckily she was stupid enough to charge it and not pay with cash like she did down in Pasadena.
That was about all I have time to watch of the video right now, priceless! Busted!!!
There is one point where she give Juan that evil stare she has. jmo
What's the deal, Arizona doesn't do DST? Please don't throw rotten fruit at me for not knowing.
No they don't. I'm trying to figure out my DVR at this moment for HLN while I work next week. Thankfully it will start now at 12:30 which can get me running home for lunch to check the channels.
OMG, this thing has consumed my life and my DVR hours.
Didn't she buy the gas BEFORE she talked to Travis. She was going to see Travis, whether she told him she was coming or asked him if she could come, didn't matter. She was going to Travis' house.
Was it before???? If so then that's even worse!
Wow! I wasn't 100% convinced the murder was premeditated but I do believe JM just nailed JA's coffin with the Salt Lake City's 3rd gas store purchase and no records of returned gas cans at the Salina's Walmart when she says she returned it.
I now do believe she went there with the intention to kill TA.
I've got to repost this again on this thread because it perfectly illustrates why Jodi has so staunchly refused to acknowledge she had a 3rd gas can. It shows that she worked out the math and realized she needed the 3rd can to ensure she could make the entire trip without stopping for gas in AZ.
""""Her story about stopping to "FILL UP" in Desert Center, CA AND Buckeye, AZ is a complete LIE. These destinations are only about 150 miles apart. There is no car in the Enterprise rental fleet that only goes 150 between fill ups. NONE!"""""
When I heard she filled up twice in route to Mesa I was confused. It is true that to fill your tank at 150 mile intervals makes no sense. I wondered why JA would even admit that since she wanted to enter AZ murder TA and make it back to Las Vegas undetected.
So based on the logic expressed above JA could have easily filled up in Pasadena drive to Mesa and then put in another 12-13 gallons somewhere beyond Mesa using the gasoline in the gas cans and easily reach Las Vegas????
The purchases at Desert Center and Buckeye were purportedly cash transactions. I believe JM opined that had she spent cash at Pasadena Desert Center and Buckeye she would have been almost out of cash.
After the SLC stop over, she claimed to fill the car up again at ???Winnemucca, NV using a credit card (for tax purposes) Therefore I fail to see the logic of filling up 3 gas cans with 15 gallons in SLC when she could have charged those gas purchases anywhere from SLC to California. If gasoline costs were truly a concern the actual savings was only a few dollars.
With respect to the 3 charges to Tesoro in SLC I assume JA will simply claim that her last $20 purchase was NOT for gasoline at all but for groceries. There was NO receipt for purchase #3.
Yes it's been discussed and this is what I believe. Everyone acted very hinky when asked about that remote. Why? I think this is why.
you have a passionate prosecution and a slovenly, snail paced, sex obsessed defense that let a defendant ramble on about her whole LIFE for days when she's on trial for murder. If I were a juror I would take note of the respective lawyering. JM focused on facts relevant to the MURDER. The defense feeling free to waste the jury's time talking about everything BUT the murder.
It all happened so fast! There we were sitting and listening to Nurmi thinking we might have to endure days and days of his blah-ing and suddenly 'no further questions' and JM was on FIRE! He's madder than he's ever been and he's not afraid to show it!!!
Next Wednesday, the next scheduled court date, will be a long wait for Gary, Greg, Tanisha, Samantha, Hillary, Steven, and Allie.
However, for the lying torture-murderess, the time between now and then will fly on by. :clock:
What I don't understand considering she probably thought she was being super smart using the gas cans, why she didn't just pocket all the money that she deposited in her account and pay cash for everything?
I bet that gas can is out in the desert with the gun, her clothes, and the knife burned.
It was a business trip combined with killing her ex brutally three times.
She said she was saving the receipts to use as tax write-off business expenses. :yes:
Jodi didn't fill up any between Salinas and Mesa on her route to slaughter Travis. She used the 3 gas cans that she kept in her trunk. Previously Martinez calculated (in front of the jury) that Jodi needed 12 gallons to reach Mesa.
She definitely filled the third can. Look at her reaction when JM asks/accuses her of buying MORE gas on top of what is on the two sales slips (about 54:02 on the tape). Busted! Her reaction is clearly that of someone caught in a lie. Not a denial which it would obviously be if she was traveling with only two cans or spent the money inside on something other than gas. He caught her red-handed in the cookie jar. Or is it bloody-handed at the pump?
Nice job.
Right, she didn't want to expose her presence in AZ by stopping for gas. She didn't want anyone to know she was there.
Her trip to Ryan, her alibi, was public knowledge. Why not just stop for gas?
She did stop for gas in Utah. But she also filled up 3 gas cans [and hid one receipt]. This is for her cover story that she had the gas cans to buy cheap gas out of state.
But Juan tracked down her purchase before she left California on her way to Arizona. I guess for some reason it did not occur to her that he would figure that out or investigate that part of it.
And then she thought she could get away with that lie of returning one can to Walmart but today Juan told her Walmart had no record of a gas can returned that day.
Busted!
