So, does Zimmerman have to claim taxes on these donations? It isn't a "foundation" is it? I won't click on the link, so I really have no idea what it's all about?

I find it really weird that Zimmerman's lawyers have never even met him??

What's with FT's face? He looks the same color as Snookie?

MOO
I would imagine, same as taking up an offering in a church to give as a gift - taxes have to be paid on any income.

It's just weird this is taking such a long time - there's not that much evidence to be gathered and tested by virtue of where this took place. They have an admission by the shooter - the weapon, the body, eyewitnesses, gf call & phone records of TM. w-t-h?

I grew up with guns, hunting and fishing. I still don't know where the key is to the gun cabinet or the key where the bullets are kept in my parents home. I am 48. I think mom will let me know when I grow up a little more.

George Zimmerman wasn't going to let a little thing like responsible gun ownership and safety get in his way.

:)
I am a city girl mom...:)
I imagine if I lived out in nature somewhere I may change my mind.

I know I am in the minority on this, but I have no problem with a neighborhood watch-person carrying his weapon if he is licensed to do so. Honestly, I prefer it. If he did see something, say a rape or violent assault in progress, he would have the capability to intervene immediately and potentially save a life.

The problem, in my opinion, is not the the neighborhood watch-person had a gun, but that George Zimmerman had a gun.

Again, I understand that I am in the minority. I understand the guidelines, etc. Not really interested in discussing it. Just my opinion :)

Considering it was against the HOA rules to carry a gun, then there is a problem.

I can't imagine either why they haven't reached a decision by now, except to think the decision has been reached and they're strategizing about riots. I guess the tox tests are still out, but it seems they have all the witness statements they need, and cell phone evidence.

Where is the proof that all the robberies were committed by young black men?

As I recall, one of the suspects apprehended by police (NOT GZ) was a white male.

Then he must be looking for white kids too, and not old ladies. :)

Suzihawk, why does your quote in post #85 have such large lettering?

I copied and pasted it directly from GZ's site. That's the size of the font on his site. I tried to edit and resize but couldn't figure out how. Sorry. Maybe one of the mods can resize it?

Where did that information come from? It's not against Home Owner Assn rules to carry a gun, I don't think. I don't even think it's againt Crime Watch rules - surely a LOT of crime watch captains have CWPs. I would think a great number of them.

Do you think they have all the evidence back from the forensics on the clothes? Both George's and Trayvon's.

And why do you always bring up riots? I'm just curious?

Or even better, tell his client to STOP POSTING stuff. Period. Sheesh, what kind of lawyer is this guy? Zimmerman needs to shut up and not post, not keep talking and posting and making his whole case worse!

Who does George remind me of, hmmm, can't put my finger on the name... someone who was posting videos allegedly against the advice of her lawyers, who was that? :moo:

Anyone wishing to discuss the demonstrations, political, religious or racial aspects of the Trayvon Martin case, please check out our new forum in the Private Area of Websleuths, called SOUND OFF.

Warning: Be sure to read the Required Reading thread.

Trayvon Martin Sound Off

Thankyou, but for me it should not be about race/politics at all.
GZ would of shot someone, anyone in a matter of time.
He could of killed an 80 year old woman with dementia lost carrying a Bible.
MOO, he is lose cannon and needed anger management a long time ago.
Never should he of been armed, IMO.
and when YOU KNOW someone like this, don't let them be on a neighborhood watch or security! JMOO

I just don't understand the fixation on an arrest which will not bring "justice." Justice can only be achieved if this terrible law is fixed. Justice will only be achieved when there isn't another Trayvon Martin or David James.

JMO, OMO, and :moo:

If there is an arrest and there is found to be enough for a conviction, then he is paying for the crime. Justice takes many forms, one of which is actually paying for the crime you did. Not paying for the crime is an injustice. I do see what you are saying, but should the evidence point to a conviction, that's a first step in hopefully getting the law modified. If nothing happens conviction wise...I hope the law is still modified.

I don't know that they did forensics on the clothes, but I know from hearing Tracy Martin, they did a tox test on Trayvon.

I keep bringing up riots because I think they're preparing for them. There was an MSM article about riot strategizing. IMHO.

It seems to me if they planned to charge GZ with a crime, they would have done it already. But I could be wrong.

NWP is watch only but they are told no guns. The Civil Patrol cannot carry weapons when patroling only radios. The HOA does not have security so there is no need to tell someone to not carry a gun. They have a gate and a camera. I'll bet you someone is burning the midnight oil tonight rewriting those rules and including about walking within the common areas carrying a concealed weapon. I wonder if GZ wore his gun to the pool????? jmo

I believe it is if they are "on duty" so to speak. They are not armed guards or policemen. Someone several threads back posted their rules...maybe someone can replete it.

Piers Morgan Tonight

Tonight: The Trayvon Martin Case

What's next in the Trayvon Martin case? Jeff Ashton, Alan Dershowitz, Roy Black and more break it down.

I have found that people who usually won't stop talking to the press or continually ignore their attorneys advice end up hanging themselves.

"The point is that he was arrested and there is a trial. Why would there be outrage when he [Trevor Dooley] was arrested within two days and the trial hasn't yet ended?
…

There had been an arrest within two days in that case, no arrest in this one. That's the difference."

****

There should have been outrage because people are getting away with murder.

I am addressing this conversation from the previous spread because my point is being missed.

A web search for "stand your ground" and "murder" and "acquittal" produces almost 200,000 results.

Too many people are focusing on the lack of an arrest in the TM case and blaming racism. IMO, they are focusing on the wrong thing and not realizing that the SA may have had good reason to not bring a case to trial that he felt he could not win.

I just don't understand the fixation on an arrest which will not bring "justice." Justice can only be achieved if this terrible law is fixed. Justice will only be achieved when there isn't another Trayvon Martin or David James.

Here is just one of the many links that can be found on this subject:

Faces of NRA/ALEC "Stand your Ground" Law

Please note that the "faces" that are shown are of varying hues.

Perhaps so. Perhaps LE has an excellent reason for blowing this case off from the beginning.

If so, (in my opinion) they need to start presenting it to the public. Because, given their history of civil rights violations and racism, and given the known facts of this case, there is solid ground for a reasonable and rational concerned citizen to suspect that this department might be actively engaged in what might even be criminal miscondict and civil rights violations. In my opinion.

They LOOK corrupt as hell. They LOOK like flaming racists. They LOOK like they laughed off the murder of an innocent black kid. They LOOK like they lied to the parents of the victim. They LOOK like they have repeatedly lied to the people of their community. They LOOK like they are continuing their efforts to delay, distract, deceive, and deny justice.

LOOKS MATTER. It doesn't mean they have actually done any of those things, but it looks like they might have, and they need to answer for it now. Not a month from now, not a week from now. Now. Before another black kid gets killed on their watch.

In my opinion.

If I remember correctly, it was stated early on that he was "on duty" but it has changed to him "running to the store."

I guess we'll have to wait to see what it says in his original written statement?
