It sounds like in Miami the kids in schools don't get charged with crimes when they are caught.

In our high school, in Williamson County TX, Trayvon would have an ADULT criminal record for defacing school property, and paraphenalia on school property which is a class B misdemeanor. And 17 is an adult here. I'm just sayin'. For all the statements his family and lawyer have made that he's squeaky clean, he's darn lucky he's in Miami and not here. He'd have probation for the defacing of school property, and then when the second crime of paraphenalia in a school zone was found, while he would have been on probation, he'd probably face some jail time. As an adult. That with his prior record of truancy, which is also a crime, that his parents would have been charged with here.

I don't know what the jewelry is about. I suspect strongly it was involved in a crime somehow or he'd have just said whose it was.

This really casts him in a different light. What WAS he doing when GZ came upon him? It seems quite likely he was trying to shake GZ because he knew the cops were called. It seems quite likely to me that GZ did ID himself as neighborhood watch, and that made Trayvon flee - not out of fear of an attacker, but fear of again getting caught doing . . . something. Or just general distrust of LE. It seems at this point he wasn't in fear that this pudgy Crime watch guy made Trayvon believe he would be attacked or mugged.

The story from GZ certainly doesn't match with TM's gf's. I'm taking GZ's words with a big old cellar of salt, though. IMO.

What has to match is her timeline and GZ's. The call logs seem iffy.

I wonder how on Earth she would know what would happen in other situations? They want revenge before they even know all the facts, it seems.

If someone shot my Son dead for walking to a convenience store for skiddles and ice tea I would want revenge too!!! TM's Mother didn't come across like that, she acted with grace and dignity considering her Son is dead. Have just a little compassion, he was just a kid! My gosh

Really? What was found that night on Trayvon that indicated he was using drugs or commiting any crime whatsoever?

So, how many times can a kid be suspended until it becomes OK to shoot him?

Well, he wasn't shot because he was suspended, he was slamming a guy's head on a sidewalk.

An expunged charge is supposed to be as if it did not exist. To me, that seems like a leak.

It's public record if it still appears on his record. jmo

Photos were sent to police how is that Pinocchio nose?

School police impounded the jewelry and sent photos of the items to detectives at Miami-Dade police for further investigation.

“Martin was suspended, warned and dismissed for the graffiti,” according to the report prepared by Miami-Dade Schools Police.

And the family attorney is confirming the stories.

We don't know. With a history of varied list of crimes like he had, we don't know what he was up to when GZ saw him. We do know that he in fact did not leave during halftime of a basketball game, so we don't know how long he had been out unaccounted for, and we don't know whether he decided to make that trip in the cold rain for something other than skittles and tea. The police have been mute, unlike his parents who have been painting an untrue picture of Trayvon.

I'm not saying he deserved to die, or that it's not sad that he is now dead. It's sad, and he didn't deserve to die.

I'm saying it's likely he was doing something that looked suspicious to a reasonable person.

A better question is, how many times can a kid be suspended before it becomes kind of clear it's believable he might have been acting suspiciously in the eyes of a Crime Watch captain?

Just because it's on his LEO record does not mean it's automatically public record. That's the point of having it expunged. Just like police having access to juvenile records, but not the public.

So what is the point other than to blame the victim? To play devils advocate? This is not a game.

They WHO?

The Family doesn't, they have asked people to NOT riot or cause problems, to obey the law, they have said that they don't even want an eye for an eye, but they want this incident investigated as it would have been if it had been the City Managers child.

And the fact that it is month since their child died and they don't know the facts is proof that they are NOT being unreasonable. IMO JMHO and stuff

ETA: If all they wanted was revenge, then a little heated rhetoric, and they could have had riots....The NBPP would have assisted them, and they could have had massive riots, but all the way they have called for calm, and peaceful demonstrations, and for answers to their questions...That is soooo far from revenge IMO...

Does this also mean that Zimmerman had 7 minutes to check a street sign and get back in his vehicle?

Again, does not answer my question. Why didn't Trayvon just go home, where he was supposedly headed?

It's not a crime and certainly not a death sentence to act suspicious.

The point is to tell the truth. That's the point.

It's likely, looking at the reality of Trayvon vs. how his parents portrayed him, it's likely GZ is completely and totally innocent of all these things that he's been threatened with death for.

It's likely that GZ saw something that a reasonable person would find suspicious, and in following him, got attacked and then had to defend himself with his gun.

It's likely.

I'm not playing devil's advocate. I'm playing GZ's advocate, and he's not the devil. And I've been doing this for a long time and now it appears there is reason to believe GZ over Trayvon's family.

It's being investigated and they are still wanting GZ arrested before the results of the investigation, before the Grand Jury. Seems they are being unreasonable and disingenuous at this point.

Lets not ignore GZ's history either. There is no fact that states that Trayvon was doing anything other than walking home from the store after buying Skittles and iced tea.

We don't know. It is becoming apparent that GZ followed him, and was attacked by Trayvon, pretty aggressively, and then was shot.

I'm not sure this has been addressed before... How do we know what Martin was doing? There's been the same statement since day one saying he was coming back from the store after buying a drink and candy, but where does this information come from? I thought his parents weren't aware of specifics about what he was doing?
