WoW, I didn't see this article before. Zimmerman is no stranger to violence, shoving and drama.

Newly available documents reveal conflicting accounts of a violent relationship in the past of George Zimmerman, the Sanford man who fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last month.

The court records concern a conflict between Zimmerman and his ex-fiancée, who filed a petition accusing Zimmerman of pushing her during an argument at her Orlando home in August 2005.

The woman reported Zimmerman had arrived at her home Aug. 8 and asked to talk. Later, when she asked him to leave, she said, he insisted on staying and demanded documents she had.

The woman said she offered to drop the papers off the following day, but Zimmerman became upset, took her cellphone and shoved her. A fight ensued, she said, and her dog bit Zimmerman's cheek.

This was 7 years ago. As I've asked before, if this guy is such a violence-prone individual, why is there no record of any violence in 7 years? It's fully possible he was just having a rough patch in his life at the time, and straightened up. It just doesn't make sense to me for there to not be a continuing pattern of violence if this man is as crazy as everyone's making him out to be.

What are we even thinking about? A 28 yr old man in a truck gets out and follows a teen and shoots him with a gun...what is there to even think about? GZ was the original 911 caller...identifying a guy walking "while black" When will we as a nation stop pretending we are colorblind? ^i^

Nobody saw who committed the burglaries. Some of the neighbors assumed that some young black men seen in the area were the burglars. George took that assumption and ran with it. Calling the police multiple times to report young black men acting "suspicious" and mentioning the burglaries.

Yes, they did. One woman was home when it happened and it was two black males. Another burglary was committed by two or three black males and one white male, iirc. There's a clear majority in there. It's all contained in the burglary reports released by SPD. Although, I'm sure now that will be accused of having been cherry-picked.

This was 7 years ago. As I've asked before, if this guy is such a violence-prone individual, why is there no record of any violence in 7 years? Well...people here are judging Trayvon Martin based on his youthful troubles...too bad he will never have the chance to "straighten up"...no one is considering that though.

It's unfair to compare a 17 year old and a 28 year old man. When GZ was 17, we have no indication that he was unlike Trayvon. We just don't know...

Actually jjenny, the night that this was first mentioned on here, I did, infact email both the reporter, and the ABC station asking if they had made a mistake, or could they confirm it as accurate. As of 12:30 am Tuesday, I have not rec'd a reply. I posted the contact info for both, easily found on their site, but I guess that was a TOS no no.

I know what he said. Nobody else (as far as I know) have said it. Trayvon's family lawyer hasn't said anything about Trayvon calling 911 whereas he did talk about Trayvon's conversation with his girlfriend. I would think something like this would have been important enough to mention. Have anyone tried to contact abc chicago to see where they got this "bombshell?"

To be fair, if his youthful troubles had an impact on this tragedy, then I'd say it's appropriate for them to be brought up. Just as if Zimmerman was seriously injured (or killed) fighting that officer - the fact that he was making stupid decisions at the time and could potentially straighten up later does not mean he did not make those decisions at the time.

He was not 100lbs heavier and I have read GZ is only 5'2" if that is true TM had his height at a big advantage against GZ.11 years younger is also a big advantage.

Why should he hedge around the truth when he turned and came toward him he saw he was black and he stated it.

Good question. And do we know if any blacks were convicted of burglaries there? The only thing I heard was GZ's friend & neighbor Frank Taffy saying GZ chased away a black man from Taffy's window but that Taffy didn't see anything & they didn't catch the supposed perp.

It's simply untrue that GZ didn't know or was unsure of his race. And it's simply untrue that he didn't know until the Trayvon came towards him. I don't know how it ever got spun that way or why.

It wasn't long into the call when he was asked and there wasn't any hestitation and it was before Trayvon supposedly came towards him.

Here's a question to ponder.

About the previous burglaries in the neighborhood. I've heard it from several people - including that guy that was on tonight that is supporting GZ - that they were committed by young black males.

Ok - how do they know this?

I've seen it said that the suspects haven't been caught - so, again - how do they know this?

Did the surveillance cameras at the clubhouse or wherever they are catch these young black males and that's how they know?

Or, did some of the victims' apartments have cameras in them and caught these suspects in the act?


I would like to know HOW they know the burglary suspects were yung black males - to me, that means someone either saw them or got them on camera.


ETA: AND if they were caught on cameras then wouldn't those cameras have also been checked to see if anything was on them concerning this major incident?

Maybe not all potheads, but remember Martin was not local. If he went out to get some pot he could have easily been sold something that was laced with something else, and he, not knowing being local, wouldn't neccesarily be told this by the sellers. Easy explanation as to why he might have attacked Zimmerman.

But, till the tox report is released, it's all speculation.

And, for the record, I don't know, or associate with pot heads, crazed or otherwise, so I would not knowwhat they love to go around doing.
