Are we really blaming NBC for doctoring the video?

I mean, that's the accusation now, that a national news agency purposely put out a doctored video which shows something that isn't really there?

You mean like NBC did with the audio 911 tapes?

Have we considered that maybe (ihate using that word) GZ was just trying to get close enough to SEE who this was so he could possible give LE a correct description if something was going on that was wrong?

I am just asking questions and have not made any decisions as to what happened here.

If some witnesses matched what GZ said , I would think he came out to see injuries and to see if there was a reasonable claim under that law.JMO if GZ was arrested and was covered under the SYG law there would be lawsuits for unlawful arrest.JMO

JMO officers have different types of immunity that protect them. If the arrest was made in good faith, and based on probable cause, a lawsuit would likely be without merit.

This just rings untrue to me for some reason. IDK, I have no experience of gunshot victims who die in short order before the paramedics arrive but I find it unlikely that they utter "you got me" while falling backward.

I'd expect something less articulate. This sounds like a bad movie script.

I agree completely. That sounds like something a person would say after a long (days, months, years) pursuit. It would fit in a Wild West movie, or a thriller in which a detective has been after a suspect for a long time, or a Mafia/Mob thing. I don't for a minute believe that Trayvon said that.

Because he is white. White Hispanic is a new term introduced by the media . I never ever heard it before. Neither have I ever heard about a black Hispanic but I guess it is coming.

There are black Hispanics, actually. The reason that identifying as Hispanic/Latino can be so tricky goes back to colonialism, slavery, and the native peoples in the area. There's a lot of mixing, so you get someone like Christina Aguilera who is obviously white, but also Hispanic. Then there's Zoe Saldana, which by appearance would be identified as black, but also has Hispanic roots. So you can be black and Hispanic, because you are from Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic, and descended from slaves brought to that country. It's a large tangle of ethnicity, race, and culture.

That's extremely dangerous, and what would Zimmerman do once he figured out who it was? IMO, he had already given a fairly accurate description.

This is one of the burning questions in my mind. Why did he leave the comfort of his home on a rainy Sunday night and drive 50+ miles in order to overrule the detective's recommendation? There is something hinky stinky about that. IMO

Maybe because an unarmed teen was shot and killed. Wouldn't that be motivation for him to come and see what the facts were?

It is a leap to say he drove there in order to over rule the detective. I think all we know is that he drove there to see what the circumstances were and what the evidence was. And his first instinct was that there is not enough evidence to prove it was a homicide.

I don't think it is surprising at all. I have believed since I heard his Dad is a retired magistrate that he was involved from the beginning. The Police Chief and the Prosecutor both showed up at the station before he was released from what was reported. It has been stated that is very unusual, and then the investigative officer was over ruled. Professional courtesy?

Thanks, Cathy...

Frankly, I don't think you even have to believe that Zimmerman's dad called in a favor. SA Wolfinger may well have had other pressures or interests that influenced his decision not to give the go-ahead on an arrest. And I'll just leave it at that.

MOO of course :)

My sister in law who married a Hispanic has always checked the box Hispanic or Latino for her children. Why do they have Caucasian,AA,ASIAN,Hispanic, If it is not considered a race?If it is ethnic why do the forms never ask if you are Italian ,Irish,Scottish,Ect.?

It never made sense to me. Hispanic has nothing to do with skin color.
And I guess if you are half Hispanic/half German(Zimmerman is a German name) you can mark either Caucasian or Hispanic. But if you are half German/half black, you are definitely black. Just nuts.

Not according to what Richard Hornsby wrote on his blog.

I'm trying to figure out why the marks are on the top of his head, that doesn't make sense to me....he would have had to have had his head tilted backwards in a very weird position. If those were open gashes there would be blood everywhere.

My son got knocked down on cement stairs in junior high and hit his head, the actual open injury was the size of a pencil tip, and there was blood everywhere all the kids were screaming and thought he was going to die...The doc cleaned up (with I might add, that brown liquid antiseptic they use) and sent us on our way..I might add, it bleed for a long time at least 45 minutes...

I think head wounds bleed alot.

jmo and all that jazz

BBM

Yep, and for many, seeing "all that blood" becomes a time for panic as volume often regarded as an indicator of severity.

With the enhanced picture, I'm still NOT seeing any steri-strips/butterfly bandaids or other indicators of first aid. Additionally, I'm NOT seeing any evidence of blood flow onto his clothing.....assuming that he did not changed at the scene. EMS providers DO NOT turn the treated patient into a "spic & span" humanoid, using H2O2 to clean clothing at the scene just isn't in standard protocols!

i don't what to loose the great possibility that GZ was under the impression he was encountering a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 who might be armed. Had it been that situation GZ could have easily been the one pronounced dead because of a knife wound. Lots of unknowns. Would he have been called a racist then?
This is all just horrible and I pray we never have to see something like this in the news ever again.

BBM. Does it make any sense to you that GZ would follow and confront a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 who might be armed? GZ may have thought those things but guess what...GZ was wrong wasn't he? You can't go around shooting people because of assumptions. IMO, This is a guy who exagerated and created situations in the past for no other reason than to boost his own ego.

Many forms that I've filled out ask both race and ethnicity. So one can be a black hispanic, a black non-hispanic, a white hispanic, a non-hispanic white etc etc

I've never understood why that info is being asked on so many forms anyway.

Why would police cover up a murder just because a guy's dad is a judge? It makes no sense at all imo.

No. The DA was unwilling to challenge the SYG law that night because of evidence he had "at that time." GZ has been able to get out of being charged, or charges have been dropped for a number of offenses and it happens his father is a retired judge. Those who have been attached to the legal system know these types of "favors" go on all the time. I would think it would be strange for his father not to try and get his son out of a jam. Years ago you'd have an LE friend 'fix' a ticket. Then they found a way to stop it which took the pressure off LE to fix things for their friends. But it still happens today and we all know it does. It's pressure LE would rather do without. Most officers want to do their job and let the legal system figure it out. jmo

It was never his responsibility and GZ knew exactly what he was suppose to do. jmo

If that is an injury on the back of Zimmerman's head (which I seriously doubt at this point), Trayvon would have had to be holding him by his feet or ankles, picking him up, and slamming him down. There is absolutely no way that's going to happen. These screen shots prove absolutely nothing to me and the way it looks right now, at least based on what I seen for myself on the video, that this particular screen shot has been enhanced and added to.

~jmo~
I was just picturing that in my mind:floorlaugh:. Technically though , I guess his head could just be touching the edge of the walkway and bruising could be near the top of his head since the grass could be lower.

We'll respectfully disagree.

I know that race has become an issue with this case, but I think it has a lot more to do with the police in this case. The steps that were taken the night of the shooting. The people who were brought in. Now knowing that his father was there to reenact the shooting?

It was handled very, very wrong by LE from the early stages of the investigation. Whether it was the actual Sanford Police Department who did this (as first suspected) or something higher had tied their hands (which I suspect now) and they were cut off from doing a proper investigation... we'll hopefully find out now that a special prosecutor has been brought it and now that the DOJ and FBI are taking a look into the case.

I agree with you there. It's almost gone beyond GZ's racial motivations. I think people can take (to a point) an individual being racially insensitive (if that's what happened), but the line gets drawn when it's a government entity, especially if it's LE, due to past history (Rodney King, Diallo, etc).
