So you don't think that it's a "deliberate injection of a word" now?

I think the CLAIM that Trayvon used this word to confront Zimmerman was a deliberate injection of a word intended to provoke people with certain biases to respond with emotional impulse.

ETA: and I don't believe that Trayvon said it.

Cops could have lopped 10 years off by just using the term "homes" instead.

I'm a hip cat.

Then came the second encounter, according to Tracy Martin’s recollection of the detective’s account. Trayvon Martin appeared from behind a building in Zimmerman’s gated community, approached him and demanded, “What’s your problem, homie?”

I think Zimmerman has been watching too much TV or played a fantasy confrontation out in his head too many times.
I wonder how many copies of 'Taxi Driver' he has worn out?

We know Zimmerman was in his vehicle when Trayvon first approached him. We hear him get out of the vehicle. This is on the 911 tape. So how does this fit:

Trayvon Martin walked up to Zimmerman’s vehicle and asked why he was following him. Zimmerman denied following the youth and rolled up the car window. Minutes after Trayvon walked away, Zimmerman got out of his vehicle.

Then came the second encounter, according to Tracy Martin’s recollection of the detective’s account. Trayvon Martin appeared from behind a building in Zimmerman’s gated community, approached him and demanded, “What’s your problem, homie?”

When Zimmerman replied that he didn’t have a problem, Martin said, “You do now.” The unarmed teenager hit Zimmerman, knocked him to the ground, pinned him down and told him to “shut the [expletive] up.”

During the beating, Zimmerman pulled his gun and fired one shot at close range into Martin’s chest. “You got me,” the teenager said, falling backward.

Hey guys long time no speak. I see Orlando has sprouted another deadly controversy. I hope it doesn't end up the same way. I read in the NYT article that the following day after TM murder GZ did a re-enactment for the police. I believe this was videotaped. I am very curious to see how he explains TM coming from behind him (which is a version that his dad gave). Being that TM died not far from his step mom's aptmt which makes me believe that he was making a beeline to get home. Does anyone know if this video will be released to the public anytime soon? Probably not.. Would be nice to know how he re-enacted all four of his different versions of events

The more I read that absurd account, the more it looks like a lampoon.

Don't forget "Homie"

It all sounds like a 1980 police drama.

At least they haven't busted out with "Kid N Play" on National Television yet... we have to give them a little credit.

Hey French...

One version is that Trayvon comes from behind and attacks GZ, the other is (above) that Trayvon confronts him and asks him "You got a problem, homie"...Both come from team Z...you get to make your own choice as to which one led to the shooting in "self-defense."

Zimmerman said he yelled for help and no one would help him. It was a lie. The boy was terrified and screaming for his life. As a child advocate surely you must be horrified listening to that boy yelling for his life. How can that not make a difference. It shows Zimmerman to be a liar. What of the rest of his statement?

Horrified as I might be by the screams of any human being or animal being shot or afraid of being shot, I am still able to go on and try to figure out what happened.

10 years off? What does this mean?

The term homie was popular about 30 years ago...it morphed into homes about 10 years later. Actually I give the cops credit for not going real old skool by claiming that Trayvon said, "What's your problem, homeboy."

It reminds me that one of the most common mistakes liars make is injecting too much detail into their lies.

Her saying TM said Why are you following me showed me that he made the first contact,Also I am not sure if she could tell what happened after she heard GZ ask what are you doing here. How can she be sure if it was a push and who pushed who?She is not an eyewitness .Wouldn't that be just her opinion? What really bothers me a lot is that TM had a phone if he knew he was being followed why not call 911 yourself? Also the GF did not call 911 after she knew he was being followed, heard that they now had words thinks she hears TM pushed and she did not call 911. I find that extremely odd. Most kids are taught at a very young age to call 911 and neither did.JMO.
Are you insinuating that TM got himself killed because he asked GZ a question? Why are you following me is a legitimate question when you are doing nothing more than walking down the street.

GZ clearly states the TM was running in another direction. TM didn't charge toward him. What sense would it make for TM to take off running then double back to confront the person he had gotten away from?

The gf was allegedly telling him to run, which he did. She was probably scared for her bf and wanted to stay on the phone to find out what was going on.

What was she going to call 911 and say? She wasn't with him. She wouldn't know his exact location and her calling 911 wouldn't have gotten Sanford PD.
It would've gotten her local PD. It wouldn't have mattered. By the time the call would've been relayed to Sanford, TM was already shot and killed.

I find it extremely odd that the dispatcher didn't bother to ask more questions about what made TM so suspicious. I also find it extremely odd that GZ left the safety of a vehicle to pursue this suspicious person on foot.

There was no real suspicious activity to report so GZ tried to make nothing into something. .When there was nothing to add he kept saying "Yup" apparently to keep the dialog going with dispatch.

He said TM was definitely up to something, looked like he was on drugs, had something in his hand and was looking at all the houses. Was TM supposed to walk with his head down and avoid looking at houses? Is it a crime to carry something in your hand? And he wasn't sure about the color of TM's hoodie so how could he tell that he appeared to be on drugs?

What exactly did TM do wrong to get 911 called on him??

You are expecting the kids to have the sense of mind to handle a situation like that?

I think Zimmerman has been watching too much TV or played a fantasy confrontation out in his head too many times.
I wonder how many copies of 'Taxi Driver' he has worn out?

This wasn't the screams of just any human being or animal, it was the screams of a child. How does someone decide which children are worth advocating for?

Absolutely.
IMO, this is what GZ thought the conversation would be like had it actually occurred. I believe it did not. That was GZ interpretation of how black people talk, IMO.
