State Attorney Norm Wolfinger released a statement on Monday saying he is "outraged by the outright lies" contained in a letter by the family of Trayvon Martin's attorney asking for a review of his actions with police in Martin's death investigation.

FBI questions people in Trayvon Martin case, begins 'parallel investigation'

SANFORD, Fla. -- FBI agents on Monday were questioning potential witnesses in the Trayvon Martin shooting, confirming to NBC News that the agency had begun a "parallel investigation" that focuses on whether the teen's civil rights were violated.

Agents are seeking information on George Zimmerman's background and whether he was racially motivated when he pursued Martin after calling a 911 police dispatcher about his presence in the community, an FBI official told NBC.

The agents were at the Retreat at Twin Lakes, where Martin was shot dead by Zimmerman, the gated community's neighborhood watch captain.

A senior law enforcement official confirmed that one potential piece of evidence is records of Zimmerman's prior 911 calls to police dispatchers.

The call sheets show that five of seven phone calls Zimmerman had made since last August involved what he viewed as suspicious activity by young men identified as "black males." But the call sheets do not indicate whether Zimmerman was asked about the race of the suspects or volunteered that information.

:woohoo: I'm confident they will find that GZ did indeed violate Trayvon's rights...most of his calls are about a suspicous, 'black' male...that racist remark on the 911 call will also seal the deal for Trayvon's justice...is my belief...

I think were supposed to ignore the fact that GZ says in his 911 call that Trayvon 'was' running 'away'. Because we know that according to GZ's own words, Trayvon running 'away' meant that he was acting suspiciously. GZ says that Trayvon was up by the other entrance. Trayvon was one of those a***** that always gets away.

In this call the female caller says that the guy on top has on a white tee shirt, I wonder if GZ had the (red) jacket on then took off or off then put on. With TM in the gray sweater shirt (long sleeves) and the (red) jacket with (long sleeves) Who the heck did she see in a tee shirt (short sleeves). curious

George Zimmerman responds, “He looks black.”

"now he's coming towards me" This to me is first time that GZ sees TM (his face) and can then ID him for the police. He then says this "and he's a black male" after that GZ says this."You need to get an officer over here." which to me I could hear more concern in his voice. To then saying this, "He's got his hand in his waistband"

I just don't understand how people here can defend GZ. We know for a fact that TM went to the store to get skittles and a drink. Why are people arguing that maybe TZ went looking for a fight or maybe he was looking to burglarize a home? This is not even a debatable issue. He went to the store!!! When you go to the store do you end up robbing someone's home or starting a fight? No, you go to the store and then you come home. That's what he was doing. Why didn't he make it home? Because a stalker, predator, paranoid, cop wanna-be shot him down. End of story.

I'm not sure that anyone is defending GZ but I can only speak for myself. However, I am defending the "innocent until proven guilty" concept and think it should be applied to this case. Somehow a confrontation took place and escalated to a horrific conclusion. I don't know why, I don't think anyone knows why, possibly even GZ. But based on the evidence we have, GZ's story is plausible.

I don't think neighborhood watchmen should carry guns but GZ was not on patrol, he was going to the store. I think that people who have a conceal and carry permit should be held to strict standards of conduct. Further, I don't believe that we should even have citizens packing hit and walking amongst the rest of us because IMO it leads to tragedies like this case. But my concerns are trumped by Florida law. And, as best I can tell with the facts we have, unless GZ's self defense claim can be disproved with hard evidence, the law is on his side.

Hmmm, 5 out of 7, eh? So 71% of his reported "suspicions" were levied against 3% of the population at large?
