I wonder what people would say if Tray killed GZ during this event.
I suspect they would be outraged and calling for him to be put under the jail.. Either that or lynched..JMHO
I wonder what people would say if Tray killed GZ during this event.
Hmmm, 5 out of 7, eh? So 71% of his reported "suspicions" were levied against 3% of the population at large?
Whyever would anyone consider that to be racist?
No, because someone is killed does not mean that the persons was helpless.
He may not have had a chance but he was not helpless to me.
I'm not sure that anyone is defending GZ but I can only speak for myself. However, I am defending the "innocent until proven guilty" concept and think it should be applied to this case. Somehow a confrontation took place and escalated to a horrific conclusion. I don't know why, I don't think anyone knows why, possibly even GZ. But based on the evidence we have, GZ's story is plausible.
I don't think neighborhood watchmen should carry guns but GZ was not on patrol, he was going to the store. I think that people who have a conceal and carry permit should be held to strict standards of conduct. Further, I don't believe that we should even have citizens packing hit and walking amongst the rest of us because IMO it leads to tragedies like this case. But my concerns are trumped by Florida law. And, as best I can tell with the facts we have, unless GZ's self defense claim can be disproved with hard evidence, the law is on his side.JMO, OMO, and :moo:

I for one don't consider TM a child, he is a young men or a teen, not a child.
Trayvon did not have a weapon and tried to run away from what he thought was a situation that could put him in danger. He was right. He lost his life because GZ would not give
up
Child or not....was he helpless?

He turned and faced GZ then began to approach, that is not trying to run away.
BBM
I think were supposed to ignore the fact that GZ says in his 911 call that Trayvon 'was' running 'away'. Because we know that according to GZ's own words, Trayvon running 'away' meant that he was acting suspiciously. GZ says that Trayvon was up by the other entrance. Trayvon was one of those a***** that always gets away.

At this stage of the game I don't even know IF we can count on an official report as being the truth..JMHO
If we're going to split hairs here, he was just days past his sixteenth birthday! That's a child in my book. A helpless child. MOO
I don't get this. Taffee is back on TV this AM - CNN. He admitted on NG last night that he hasn't spoken to nor seen GZ since. He never saw his injuries nor talked to him. I don't get it.
Oh great, now he's calling the gated community "his hood". GMAB
Why are they giving this guy ANY air time at all. Oh, he just said that his house was one of the break-ins. Feb 2 call was HIS house - and GZ thwarted it. There was one in Jan that the guy was caught. The suspect was caught 5 days later and it was just 2 doors down from his house. All perps were young black males - but how would he know that if they didn't catch them all?
Just wish they (TV) would stop letting him get on camera.

BEM: Did Zimmerman tell this story, or did Tracy Martin tell this story?

White persons: 57.3, Black persons: 30.5. Obviously, 3% is not realistic.
Black persons, percent, 2010 (a) 30.5%
Female persons, percent, 2010 52.0%
Persons under 18 years, percent, 2010 26.0%

IMHO Trayvon's attorney has made many inaccurate remarks.http://www.clickorlando.com/news/St...uest/-/1637132/10042672/-/tovmqt/-/index.html
State Attorney Norm Wolfinger released a statement on Monday saying he is "outraged by the outright lies" contained in a letter by the family of Trayvon Martin's attorney asking for a review of his actions with police in Martin's death investigation.

We can get to the point where we can overanalyze this to where it just won't make sense. I am of the humble opinion that GZ kept moving after Trayvon after the dispatcher stated "we don't need you to do that", the distance from his vehicle which was substantial as well as the sounds heard on the phone as he was allegedly chasing Trayvon, per his girlfriends tc information and timeline, and regardless of who at that point said what, I have always told my children to never start of fight, but if threatened finish it. I almost suspect GZ drew his gun chasing TM, maybe the adrenaline kicked in and Trayvon was screaming so he would not get shot "help me help". Then the shot. No more screaming but GZ seen standing over Trayvon, face down, with his hands on his back. This is the only scenario that seems to make any sense. Sometimes less information is more. This of course is my opinion only.
The 911 tapes strongly suggest Zimmerman overstepped his bounds, they say, when the Sanford neighborhood crime-watch captain said he was following Trayvon and appeared to ignore a police request to stay away.
“The guy lost his defense right then,” said Peaden. “When he said ‘I’m following him,’ he lost his defense.”
Under the law, a person who claims he was acting in self defense can be immune from arrest. But, like Peaden, Baxley said Zimmerman might have lost that right because he could have “aggravated” the situation and provoked a confrontation.
Whats up with the guy who appeared on NG's show last night defending GZ's claims and injuries, but yet when asked IF he had seen or spoken with GZ since the incident, he readily states..No, he hasn't.... Why is he being given "air time" when he hasn't even seen or spoken to GZ since the shooting? JMHO
