Trayvon Martin’s mother Sybrina Fulton told the TODAY show Thursday that she believes her son’s fatal shooting by George Zimmerman was an accident.

“I believe it was an accident, I believe that it just got out of control and he couldn’t turn the clock back," she said.

This statement is interesting. After hearing GZ's ex-lawyers speak of GZ's stress, I thought maybe at the time GZ didn't know he had shot a 17 year old, and when he found out maybe it really upset him ???? I'm just not so sure about the shooting being an accident though.

Yup. He shoved his 2 yr old brother into a shelf and fractured his skull. His mom, who abused and tortured him all of his life, refused to take the 2 yr old in for medical help. That assured it was a death and not just an injury. And this 12 yr old is probably going to get LIFE in prison. But as the prosecutor says, The law is the law, and it is not her job to be compassionate here. Oh well.

You need to read more than one article about the Christian Fernandez case, he also has charges pending against him for raping his other 5 year old half brother. His mother has already pled guilty of manslaughter. There is more to the CF case than one article can explain.

What????!!!! I don't understand this, because I don't think it was an accident, but Trayvon's mother does?

I think the shooting was an accident, don't get me wrong, GZ getting out of his vehicle was NOT an accident, but, I don't believe that GZ got out of his vehicle that night with the thought in mind that he was going to kill this 🤬🤬🤬🤬....But I DO believe that he got out of his vehicle with the firm intent to stop him, and hold him for LE, that he was going to stop this as he saw it casing of his neighborhood or robbery in progress. (whatever he believed was going on) He was armed, and he intended to follow and stop Trayvon, and it went sideways on him, and the killing was an accident, but a foreseeable one, one that could have been avoided at many many points before the shot. IMO JMHO and stuff.

That's an incredible interesting quote and I would think would give those who believe this was pre-planned by GZ some pause. If the mother of the victim doesn't believe there was intent, I also wonder if she also believes in some small way GZ has been victimized here, with a majority of the public making him out to be the devil.

I never thought there was intent either, the evidence as we know it does not support that theory.

That's good to hear. It's what I've thought all along. It was a terrible sequence of events that turned to tragedy. IMO, the person who brought the gun carries more responsibility. That's my opinion, I'm not sure whether the law agrees.

Good heavens, let's not stretch what she says. How many times has she spoken?

She always shows great class and dignity, but she has never intimated that GZ is a victim.

Keep everything she says in context. Please

What she is saying would support the second degree murder charge.

I don't believe that there was intent to kill someone, but I do firmly believe that there was every intent to stop and hold Trayvon and find out what he was doing, and keep him there for LE. The fact that doing that was not legal, and the fact that he was doing that while carrying a loaded gun IMO does add up to malicious intent, but that is only My Opinion.

Wow. That's rather surprising to me. But it fits with her trying to calm the masses and I commend her for that. What a remarkable woman.

Sabrina Fulton has no malice in her heart...could be this is what keeps her sane, thinking it was a horrible accident gone terribly wrong..but once the evidence comes out, that might just change her mind and see the intent was there from the start...she's also trying to calm down those who thought Trayvon would not get justice...

All we wanted was an arrest...that was their main focus..now when this gets into a courtroom, evidence, testimony might just change her mind on that accident...

It was just a question on if she thought these things. I'm not a mindreader, neither are you.

IMHO.. It could have been that plaid shirt or the angle of the camera but he didn't look to skinny to me when he was being escorted into the jail...JMHO

This morning I saw the video of him in the plaid shirt, I agree with you, he did not look skinny.

The only reason she would think it was an accident is because she already knows more than we do.
But I am sure if she learns that someone had any malice she will change her mind that would be natural.

ACorey said yesterday GZ was being held with no bail...but that his attorney can ask the judge for bail...don't think he'll get it especially since after the incident, he left the state of Florida so he'd be a great flight risk..

I dont' think I've ever seen anyone charged with murder bailed out...

It happens

An accident is something that happens when one has no choice or control over the situation, IMO. Zimmerman had both. Trayvon had neither.

JMO,IMO etc.
I respectfully disagree. There is something that happened that justified the 2nd degree murder charge. I don't believe Trayvon's mother has been told what why. AC and her team are working hard on this case, and I don't get the feeling they leak specific details early, even to the murder victim's family.

It was just a question on if she thought these things. I'm not a mindreader, neither are you.

Did you watch the entire video?

Where she says that the moment she heard the charges she thought, finally the person who shot and killed her son is being held accountable?

Or where the father say that he needs to be locked up and held accountable?

Or where she said that all they've ever asked for is an arrest?

At the end is when she was asked what would she say to GZ if she came face to face with him. The quotes in the article were just a part of her response.

Context is everything.
