Ya'll slay me about eye rolling I never notice. I did have an experience once while in a small restaurant down south. I was sitting with a very nice woman having coffee when she asked me "did you see that waitress roll her eyes at me?" I said no I didn't see it. She said to me, if she rolls her eyes at me again I'm going to kick her assets. I was taken back for sure from this calm demure brunette I was sitting with.

I've always been curious since then about the EYE talk, then I learned about stink eye. Since I didn't watch GZ's eye talk, was he giving someone the stink-eye or just an eye-roll. I'm so behind the times and eye language...

I believe he had only been a part of the neighborhood watch program since SEPT of 2011 or so.

"Sanford Police volunteer program coordinator Wendy Dorival told The Miami Herald she met Zimmerman in September 2011 at a community neighborhood watch presentation."

http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/03/17/v-fullstory/2700249/trayvon-martin-shooter-a-habitual.html

As the only person to volunteer, Zimmerman was appointed neighborhood watch coordinator by his neighbors, according to Wendy Dorival, Neighborhood Watch organizer for the Sanford Police Department. The February 2012 homeowner association newsletter requested that crime victims "call our captain, George Zimmerman" after calling the police.

http://articles.orlandosentinel.com...1_zimmerman-community-ties-neighborhood-watch

Also, from the link above, the newsletter was published in February 2012.

People don't always know the address of where they are either. Last night, when leaving a gated community consicting of three buildings, all with the same communal street address, where I have a friend, an elderly man tripped, fell, and was bleeding from his face. A group of long term residents gathered around him while several called 911. Of that group of 12-16 long time residents, not one, repeat, not one, was able to give 911 the correct address, or even the actual name of the community. Fortunately I knew it because I had it typed into my gps, and all ended well.

Well, all of that is fine and well, but GZ knew where the mailboxes were and he knew where his truck was parked. If he had no intentions of following Trayvon, either of those would have made great meeting places.

Feel free to spin it as you choose, however as I said, thankfully, most people, especially after hearing all of her intervioews, and after hearing her full interview, can see that this is a grieving mother who misspoke.

If a grieving mother misspeaking is considered damage, then claifying what she meant is damage control, I don't know what to say. I guess, kind of like the same benefit of the doubt that some say should go to people like Deborah Bradley. :seeya:

Is there ever a need to publicly correct or clarify what a grieving mother has said? The fact that it was done in this case means that someone felt that there was a need to do so, and that the need was public.

IMO it is not an eye roll.....it is a twitch or something different, lol.

The only part of this that was an "accident" was when George completely misjudged Trayvon. The moment this turned into intention was when George Zimmerman stepped out of his car with the mindframe that the "a**holes always get away" and that Trayvon was a "f***ing punk."

The intention, was not at first to kill Trayvon, the intention, IMO, is that Zimmerman was going to follow, confront, and detain Trayvon. It became an intent to kill when Zimmerman pulled out that gun... which we don't know if it was before any physical contact, or after. But the intent is there.

I can't get over how small GZ looked in court today.

It looked like it was involuntary. He wasn't directing it at anyone...

I like him a lot! He's a class act!
IMO, after watching that presser - O'Mara does seem like he might be a defense attorney that may stand by his own word. I sure hope so.

I will take him at his word. I think it's possible to be a gentleman, and a defense attorney.

I believe in our system of justice.
I used to believe in it 100% - and then I followed Caylee's case from beginning to it's unbelievable ending.

Sadly, I will never have faith in our legal system again. :(

Well if today's very brief hearing was any indication of how this case will move forward, I would say that both sides are professionals and are going to pick their fights and not turn everything into a battle.

The State readily agreed to sealing the records with the defense. To me that says they have spoken as professionals and both are working in a professional capacity to protect the integrity of this process. How refreshing. :)

I sure hope you're right!

I didn't notice the eye talk either. The thing I noticed is that he looked so much smaller than the hulking brute the media has made him out to be.

No, his eyes kept doing this weird "eye rolling" twitch thing. It happened at least 4-6 times. You have to see it to understand.

ETA: I also agree that it was not intentional, but some kind of habit/issue he has.

Just saw the hearing. It was not an arraignment or bond hearing. What was it?

Also, the eye-rolling? I do that when I have dry eyes or allergies. I saw nothing in him that indicated mental or neuro issues at this point.

Further, the sealing of the file is temporary, pending further hearings before the trial judge. So, there is nothing to suggest we will not have doc dumps.

Finally, both sides seem to be solid, normal, good attorneys. We will thus be likely to have a solid, normal, real trial, and not a circus. I'm glad of that. So far I really like Zimmerman's attorney and Corey's reputation is stellar.

Unless a person is being completely unreasonable, then they realize she could have picked her words better---but it's easy to understand what she meant even without a clarification.

She has said the same thing consistently, she misspeaks once, and somehow her statement alone negates the fact that her son was MURDERED (allegedly).

Maybe she should have said mistake instead of accident. I think people know what she meant.

THIS! Thank you....involuntary was the word I could not come up with, lol.:rocker:

I'm sure he was very nervous. Maybe that caused the eye thing.

  • #197
I too think it is an involuntary eye movement. I do not believe it to mean anything. JMO

Guns make big men little, and little men big.

I don't care if he weighed 2 pounds. His 9mm is the elephant in the room.

Sure there is, there are people who will use it to fit their own agenda, ready to pounce. People who couldn't care less if a grieving mother simply misspoke. Especially the media, that we so often complain about.

Good for her to set the record straight if she felt that she was being mischaracterized. She has that right, she is the victim.

But perhaps it's becoming obvious that for some, nothing this particular victim does will be acceptable.
