Yes, and your post got me thinking. They are going to have to clarify this law because otherwise, we really do have a situation where someone can claim fear and if there are no witnesses, kill girlfriends or boyfriends, husbands or wives, people they dislike, co-workers they hate, etc.
Surely Florida does not want that so I venture to guess this law will be interpreted in a manner less favorable to Zimmerman.

If she had said Trayvon was aggressive, would you believe that? Are her statements only not credible because they do not conform with what you believe?

There is no reason for this kid to lie. She was apparently so traumatized by learning of the death of her boyfriend after witnessing his last moments on earth, that she had to be hospitalized. Doesn't sound like a conniving liar to me. There is zero evidence that she is a liar or otherwise not credible.

Apparently some question her veracity.

I wanted to add to the discussion as to who the aggressor would likely be. I have mentioned this repeatedly, but Zimmerman was the one who said, "These a$$holes always get away." And called "these a$$holes" "f&*king punks."

He's also the one who, after making those statements, followed the "a$$hole", even though the dispatcher indicated he did not need to do that.

He's also the one with an arrest and charges for a violent crime in his past.

He's also the one whose ex girlfriend alleged he was violent towards her.

He also the one who people complained about to LE and the HOA due to his "aggressiveness".

Finally, he's the one who repeatedly called police, over various, silly things and who wanted to be a cop, but for some reason, could not.

On the other hand, no one who has encountered Trayvon has stepped forward to say he was an aggressive person. In fact, the opposite is true. And his family seem like quiet, humble people to me.

Further, his girlfriend said he was scared and trying to get away, not confronting or angry.

Thus, taking everything as a whole, it is simply not logical to find the words of a man who wants to avoid prison, credible. Zimmerman is the logical aggressor, not Trayvon.

Thank You ! :tyou::tyou:

OT - Why do people on WS keep referring to Trayvon Martin as "Tray?" I don't believe his own family refers to him, in the media, using that name. I prefer to call him by his full name, Trayvon Martin, Trayvon, or abbreviate using TM. Maybe it's just me.. :waitasec:

When this first started, I was calling him Tray because I love it as a nickname, but I haven't done that in a while? I have quite a few friends with boys named Trayvon and it's just habit because we always call them Tray.

His brother called him Tray. :)

I think his family or friends may have called him Tray. I don't know it for a fact, but I remember reading when the info about his twitter acct. came out, one of the factors they pointed to to verify its ownership was the fact that it was the same acct. previously attached to the handle or name Tray.

Plus, it would just make sense. I mean how many parents do you know who always call their kids by their entire full names unless they are very angry? lol I know some do b/c they don't like nicknames, but I think most people do shorten the names. In my case, I call my kids almost everything but their actual full names. I don't think it's disrespectful or anything. jmo

It would be really hard for me to wrap my head around Zimmerman
carrying a gun and starting a fight. It just does not add up in my head.

Can you picture him carrying a gun and starting a confrontation?

My mom should have just named me and my younger sister "Heither" because that is what she always calls us? It's a mixture of Heidi and Heather. :floorlaugh:

If she said that Trayvon was being aggressive I would tend to believe it, and not because of my beliefs but as his girlfriend it would be much harder for her to say that.

In my post I never said that I felt she lied about anything and certainly not her being a conniving liar.

I agree that there is zero evidence that she has lied about anything. I imagine it will by up to a jury whether she is credible or not.

Why?

All it would take would be a man, who by his own words was tired of these guys getting away, grabbing Trayvon by the arm or putting a hand on his shoulder to try and hold him till police arrived. Trayvon, who is grabbed by this guy he views as a perv attempts to get away from him. Why is this so difficult to visualize for some? To me, given GZ's own words and frustrations, this is the most likely.

Give me something that says this isn't possible or, as I said, given GZ's own words, probable, and I'll seriously consider it.

Oooppsss....IMO and all that.
OK so Trayvon thinks he is a perv and runs for the hills I get that.
But Zimmerman provoking anything with a gun in his belt and he comes from a family where both Mom and Dad work WITH the Law...
No I do not see that at all.
Not saying it is impossible I just Really do not see that at all.

For WS purposes, any of those are fine to use. I usually say Trayon or abbreviate with TM, however all of these are respectful, so it is all good. :)

Have you ever met children who's parents were part of LE? Or professionally involved with the Law? It's an honest question? I have and they are NOT angels! TRUST ME!

There is zero information about her.
We know non other then she reported an incident over 3 weeks later.
The first person she heard from is Mr. Martin.
A LOT COULD HAVE HAPPENED that we do not know. My imagination is active.

I don't think we know that she waited 3 weeks? I thought that they had tried to get into contact with SPD and their calls were ignored? Or something like that?

There have been many cases of rebellion/ not caring that parents work with/in LE where the kids turn out bad, sometimes drugs are involved.
Prime example is Joran Van Der Sloot- serial murderer. His father was a judge in training- who used his influence to get him off in Natalee Holloway's murder.
Oh, and also let's not forget that George Anthony is ex-LE! Look how well his progeny turned out!!!

It's not hard for me to see the possibility.

We have had members of LE go after people on personal vendettas here. They stalk, pursue, argue, hit, kick, and even shoot. They don't keep their jobs for long but that's beside the point.

In my personal experience... children of those who work in LE are the worst of the worst! Not all of them... but a good deal of them. Because their parents work in LE, they have a sense of entitlement that goes way beyond the norm.

Just to be clear... you believe unarmed people are more likely to initiate a confrontation than armed people?

Didn't the brother say they were raised by the grandparents? Maybe that's where is obsession with LE comes from. Something strange in there, somewhere.

Wrt GZ's "eye roll" ( link ) I would venture to guess that it may have to do with the fact that he wears contacts. ( link )

Thank you for the link. I saw the discussion about this but this is the first time I've seen the video myself.

I see two things: one, he sometimes blinks as if his eyes are bothering him. I wear contacts and I blink this way myself if my eyes feel dry or otherwise irritated.

The other thing I see is what I think posters are referring to as the eye-rolling, where he at first looks to be looking left and then his eyes quickly switch with an upward then downward motion to looking right.

I would have to agree with the posters who have stated the opinion that the latter is an involuntary tic or something of the sort.

It doesn't seem significant to me. JMO and all.

YES In the family. As a child I had uncles who were officers.
I currently have cousins who are diplomats.
Not a question of angels there are things they just would not do.
Would they get in a fight Yes, would they instigate one Yes, and plenty. :)
but with regard to things like would they carry and start a fight NO!
Definitely NO!
