The SPD is desparately trying to cover their own sorry butts. They not only performed a shoddy and incomplete investigation but quickly decided (after an unprecedented emergency visit from the SA on a rainy Sunday evening) that this young black man's death wasn't worth the bother of charging GZ with a crime. I'm left to wonder why??

All my own opinion, of course.

I have no doubt all of this information is going to come out at some point. I think there's been dirty dealings in Sanford for a very very long time.

A Miami-Dade firefighter’s rant about the Trayvon Martin case — posted on his personal Facebook page — is drawing scrutiny from his bosses.

Capt. Brian Beckmann’s post, published for the public Friday by the website theGrio.com, lambasts the prosecutor in the George Zimmerman case and suggests “urban youth” are the products of “failed, *****bag, ignorant, pathetic, welfare dependent excuses for parents.”

70% of the people polled said its okay for him to say what he says as a private citizen. People just don't get it... see you can't be in public safety, and have racist thoughts. You stop being bias about your job, once you start or continue to think this way. Sure, his words were not outwardly racist, but methinks he watered them down to make it acceptable for his FB audience. IMO.

We had a website up here, domelights.com, where Philly officers voiced their frustrations about the going's on in Philly about crime. Only thing is, some took their frustrations too far, and went racial in their rants. If i knew of an officer who posted their, i would not feel safe around that individual.

I do not...:what:

After reading the probable cause affidavit, it was just as I suspected..GZ state of mind is in the forefront...I don't believe this to be a SYG issue, I believe he hunted TM down and deemed him a criminal as soon as he saw this lone teen walking HIS community...His mentality of a disappointed cop, is front and center...I certainly hope if a jury gets this, they use common sense and critical thinking..TM should be alive today, if not for GZ...

Justice for Trayvon Martin

Does anyone know how much GZ's past online history will be brought into court? I'm sure that his history online and in real life is being investigated with a magnifying glass. I keep thinking about the support website and that (facebook/myspace?) page.

Zimmerman is going to have to folks to believe that, he had his gun on him, but it was holstered, and while he was getting the thrashing of his life, he was able to un-holster his weapon and strike Treyvon dead center in the chest from underneath him with 1 shot.

Now the thing is, at such close proximity, Trayvon would have GSR on his hoodie. I think how much so will tell us alot about this case. Now a 9mm doesn't put out as much, say a .45, but its going to be difficult to explain how he got off such a great shot at Trayvon's chest, at the angle Trayvon was supposedly on top of him. Just picture your own self laying down, and envision someone on top of you, they would not be chest to chest with you, it would be more of a 45-90 degree angle, especially someone who is 6'3, with longer arms. Now imagine how difficult in a struggle for you to release a gunshot, right in the center of their chest. IMO

Now think how much easier it would be... if instead of the person on top of you... if you were on top of that person. That's why the angle of the bullet as well will tell alot of this case. An upward angle, through his aorta, will support Zimmerman's claim. A perfect shot, straight through his chest, right out his back at the same angle, will suggest Trayvon was shot while laying down. IMO

Good morning Rob...BBM

Trayvon was found face down with hands and arms underneath his body..How do you suppose he got into that position?

I am curious for the trajectory of that bullet will tell the ME alot about Trayvon's shot to the chest..but I wonder how did Trayvon die face down, hand and arms under his body...what does that suggest? Not being snarky for I believe you are onto the nuts and bolts of the 'kill' shot...

This baloney about the dispatcher not issuing an order (or whatever it is they are trying to say) is completely asinine. You all know as well as I do that "WE DON'T NEED YOU TO DO THAT" means DON'T DO IT, period!! That's simply one more justification in their mind that it was okay for Zimmerman to murder Trayvon.

Past case in FL
Travares McGill -- Sanford, Fla. (2005)

McGill, 16, was sitting in a car at an apartment complex when someone shined a bright light into the vehicle. It turned out to be two security guards, who did not identify themselves, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

McGill tried to back out and get away. The guards -- Bryan Ansley, 28, and William Patrick Swofford, 26 -- opened fire, shooting McGill in the back and killing him.

Ansley and Swofford claimed self-defense, saying they feared McGill was trying to run them over. A grand jury indicted both guards, but the case was ultimately dismissed.

Definitely not a lawyer here but I imagine his online postings, etc. will be brought in because it might show state of mind prior to, during, and after the murder. I mean after all, the other big case that we followed, everything she had ever done was brought in so I can't see anything different in that regard. Additionally, that very disgusting name he used on his MS account says a lot about him at least to me.

So it’s not just liberals, black lawmakers and others who cheered the second-degree murder charge against Zimmerman. Gun-rights advocates and the National Rifle Association received some political cover to resist calls to change the deadly force law.

Of course, if a judge tosses the charge and cites Stand Your Ground, the pressure will only increase to clarify the law’s intent. Indeed, the law goes on trial before Zimmerman in an actual court and in the court of public opinion.

But the facts of the Zimmerman case might make it politically tougher to amend Stand Your Ground in the Florida Legislature.

Here’s why: Special Prosecutor Angela Corey actually read the statutes. And they probably don’t give Zimmerman much immunity.

Corey probably found that, after chapter 776.013 (a k a Stand Your Ground), there’s another chapter, 776.041, called “use of force by aggressor.”

That law says the use of force is justified if another is committing a crime or escaping the scene.

JMO/IMO, etc..
Whatever their reason for ignoring the fact that an unarmed minor was stalked/followed, shot, and died, they are now in CYA mode.

When I read that document, I laughed out loud. How pathetic is it, that they are calling a 911 Dispatcher a "call taker"??? The "call taker", must have an actual professional job title. I'm betting it's something like 911 Specialist, or 911 Dispatcher....

Maybe they are hoping to sell it that you can legally ignore a "call taker".

I guess we should give them bonus point for creativity, but if (when)there is a lawsuit, their attempt at self protection will be pretty transparent.

GM
I was also troubled by how Trayvon was found, especially with 2 witnesses stating Zimmerman was found "straddling" Martin.

So either, Trayvon was on Zimmerman, got shot and fell forward, and Zimmerman got from underneath him... or Trayvon got shot while standing, and fell literally face forward. But what would be really, really bad, if Zimmerman, shot Trayvon, basically the way his body was found, will having him pinned to the ground, face down. Once again, forensics can prove if Trayvon was shot in the back or not.

Generally I don't bash LE in a case, but, IMO, there's something very wrong with this SPD's handling of this one.

If Zimmerman was told not to continue to follow Trayvon, can that be considered in this investigation?

Yes it will; however, the telecommunications call taker asked Zimmerman “are you following him”. Zimmerman replied, “yes”. The call taker stated “you don’t need to do that”. The call taker’s suggestion is not a lawful order that Mr. Zimmerman would be required to follow.

Zimmerman’s statement was that he had lost sight of Trayvon and was returning to his truck to meet the police officer when he says he was attacked byTrayvon.

http://www.sanfordfl.gov/investigation/docs/Zimmerman_Martin_shooting.pdf

Check ANY 911 tape or transcript that you choose. Zimmerman got out of his truck and started following Trayvon at [2:08] into the call. He was told not to do that by the dispatcher EIGHTEEN SECONDS later and the City of Sanford is verifying, by the part I've bolded above, that the story they bought whole hog on is that Zimmerman then started walking back to his truck and was attacked by Trayvon!

If it only took him eighteen seconds to GET TO where ever these people want us to believe he went, how long do they expect us to think it would take him to GET BACK?

Do they honestly think they're so "brilliant" that we're supposed to believe a timeline where poor lil ole George was attacked by a "fire breathing bad azz" 17 year old, THIRTY SIX SECONDS or less after he even got out of his truck? Do they actually think we're so gullible that we'll completely disregard the fact that the 911 call didn't end for TWO MINUTES after George got out of his truck?

The City of Sanford, FL can be ignorant enough to buy off on this malarkey if they choose, but I can still do basic math with the best of em. It could not, and did not happen the way they're spreading this bs.

IMO, JHMO, MOO, etc.

Is this Bryan Ansley the same one that has been brought up in the Jennifer Kesse case, that name has even been brought up on this board in regards to Jennifer's case. I don't know what we can post about him but just do a google search. :what:

Thank you, yes I did. What I found fascinating about the article link I posted ^ was the fact that Dennis Baxley himself (one of the authors of the SYG law) is defending/supporting AC's interpretation of the law. That speaks volumes to me! JMO~

IIRC, she's already recused herself, hasn't she?

No Papa in the status hearing she called on Friday, she informed O'Mara that he would have to file a motion asking for her to be removed so it sounds like that's what he is doing now.
