Why is it necessary to record that the individual has a state-issued permit? If he did not have the permit on him, I could see that being written in the report... But do police write that the owner of a vehicle had a valid DL, registration, and insurance when they stopped the car? It's all extraneous to the crime if they do. If anyone was curious about him having a valid permit, they could easily look it up. There was no crime committed on that end, so it was a non-issue.

I didn't say it was necessary - please read my words again as I started my post by readily admitting that I had no expertise in this area... It was/is MY OPINION that one would think it might be of great importance to document ALL information pertaining to a weapon that was just used to take a human life.

Zimmerman wanting now to apologize is almost a slap in the face to Trayvon's family. The only reason he or his attorney would even entertain this idea is ridiculous. In order to apologize, he has to admit that what he did was wrong and truthfully I can't see that happening. If I were Sybrina or Tracy, I'd take the opportunity to meet with Zimmerman and would spit right in his face. That's what I would think of a half-a$$sed apology from him. He has had almost 2 months to reach out to them for killing their son in cold-blood.

"In an interview with Bay News, O'Mara did not explain why his client wants the meeting, but said that if it were to happen, it would be private, just Zimmerman and Trayvon's parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton."

http://globalgrind.com/news/george-zimmerman-private-meeting-trayvon-martin-parents-details

IMO, nothing good can come of it now and O'Maro, as an experienced attorney, knows that it ain't never gonna happen - it's just an attempt to paint his client as the nice guy reaching out. Then, when the meeting is turned down (rightly so) by Trayvon's parents, O'Mara will use their refusal against them in the media in order to sway public opinion and gain sympathy for George. While O'Maro's campaign may help bolster those who already have, shall we say biased views and, like George Zimmerman himself, O'Mara is underestimating the intelligence of the good and decent people who aren't buying GZ's BS story. JMO~

I am not taking it awfully serious because O'Mara came out a few days ago saying his client "might apologize" and I thought, either you apologize that you shot someone's son or you don't, saying that you perhaps "might" possibly apologize for "being involved" if the stars are aligned right is worth zip, zilch, nada. In my opinion.

If he wanted to apologize he's had ample opportunities to do so, he had the ear of all the news organizations ven his own website where he could have published anything he wanted but it was anything but apologetical.

The lawyer for George Zimmerman, charged with murder in the death of unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin, said that the teenager's death "weighs on" Zimmerman and suggested his client might apologize to Martin's family.
"Understand that George fully well realizes that he was involved in some way in the death of another young man," lawyer Mark O'Mara told ABC News.

It tells us something about this lawyer that this desire surfaced right away after getting a new lawyer.

Okay, why is it of great importance (can you make the distinction between this and necessity, please?), to document a permit that is held by the owner? It's in the state database. He's not breaking any laws by having it. The permit is not an element of the crime that took place, nor is it really materially relevant if the person is in possession of it... Why should it be mentioned in the police report? If there was any question to it at a later date, it's recorded in a statewide database.

I've personally made no opinions based on what any audio or video expert have stated. I'm basing my opinions totally on what I have seen for myself in the original police dept surveillance of Zimmerman's arrival, Zimmerman's own words on the 911 call, as well as Trayvon's mother stating it was her son screaming for his life on the 911 call. Any other opinions that I've formed have came from listening to various interviews with Zimmmerman's family and friends which coincidentally confirms my original opinions on the entire case...

1. Zimmerman pursued Trayvon because he was determined that this f**** punk, @$$hole wasn't going to get away.
2. Zimmerman murdered Trayvon.
3. Sanford PD and the state attorney's office in Seminole County have screwed up big time.

If this case goes to trial and experts testify, could their testimony affect your opinion? Or do you feel that all experts in case's like this have an agenda?

I do not believe I ever said anyone had an agenda. Certainly, when the case goes to trial and experts are testifying, I would give consideration to what they are saying; however, in the great scheme of things, none of our opinions matter. It is only the jury's opinion that matters.

I think we need to remember too that these PD reports were both labeled as partial and only from two of the officers on the scene. Really wish we have all the reports including the actual investigator's and ME's report.
Those two narratives released each had a begining and an end. They better not have removed anything between.

That wasn't his decision, though...
Right, but I think that report was made after they had decided to let him go. It was made at 3:29 in the morning.

The christian part of me would want to accept Zimmerman's apology. The good lord forgives us everyday, so hopefully, at some point in my life... in the future i could forgive him as well. But this early, this soon, there's no way i could listen to my son's last words, and forgive the man who shot him as he bagged for help.

Honestly, you put in me in closed room session with Zimmerman, and he'd have to fear for his safety, and that's despite the # of officers present.

I almost wish Steft50 hadn't made this post last night. Now I'm hung up on trying to understand how someone on the bottom.....

TMGetToGun4.png

getting brutally beaten.....brains smashed on the sidewalk.....loosing consciousness .....short of breath.....and swallowing his own blood.....could ever reach into the waist on the INSIDE of his britches.....that his attacker is sitting on.....

TMWaistBand.png

draw out his little gun.....

TMLittleThang.png

and shoot his attacker in the chest, killing him.

I just don't get it.

LOL I would say sorry Concerned Papa, but it's still bugging me too!

I can't speak for anyone else but that word "enhanced" slows me down considerably, particularlly since I see NOTHING prior to the "enhancement".

If he's really got some type of injury, why all the smoke and mirrors? All these self made pictures discussed here yesterday are an example. If this guy had any injuries why not bring out the 8 x 10 glossies? Show me simple photographic evidence of his getting the crap beat out of him, and you're gonna take a whole lot of wind out of my sails. I don't think I'm alone in that regard.

Quit telling me mentally insulting versions of what you say happened. Simply show me a couple of pictures that prove it, and I might just go *poof*. You see, unlike some of the others, I don't have a big problem with the SYG law as it was intended, but don't try and make it stretch to "Chase Your Ground and Take My Word For It".

That dog won't hunt.

I agree with you, if there are serious injuries or any injuries, it should be presented. But GZ or any of the people going on these talk shows wasn't the ones that presented this enhanced still, from an MSM. It isn't GZ that put this 'still' up there and said 'here, look I had a bruise on my head, see the red'? He was doing that when he got out the car, when the cop looked behind his head.

And we don't know if TM was actually sitting on him. He could have just been bent over him. Or in the process of getting up, IIRC the one witness had shouted something about calling 911 so TM could have been distracted or may have decided to get off GZ and scram before the cops got there. IMO, given that they were somewhat evenly matched, I've always assumed they were rolling around. I think there is a good possibility that they were fighting over control of the gun. But that's just speculation on my part.

JMO, OMO, and :moo:

GZ weighed 40-50 pounds more than TM. How does that make them evenly matched?

Don't worry, this is what Zimmerman's lawyer is talking about. Not what you normally think of as an apology.

--i would like to know if it's "the norm" for the accused in jail, to be granted (or even request) a meet w/ his victim's family members ?
