Save money, live with momma...:floorlaugh:

I really wish I could, but sadly....I AM MOMMA....and the last one just left home for the second time, but to be honest it was just a stopover since he and his wife sold their house, and moved in with me until they could find and buy one closer to his work...but maybe I will try and convince them I am getting senile and move in with THEM....

NAHHHH trust me, real life is totally over rated, it's full of stuff like appliances that go on the fritz when your checking and savings accounts are low, and bosses who expect you to come to work on short notice on your day off and grass that needs to be mowed and a house that is in desperate need of cleaning, and water that gets shut off for half a day in the whole neighborhhod and stuff...who needs it.

For the record..I have experienced ALL the above mentioned in the last three years...

and yet again, here's O'Mara out there touting his story in the media yet again. I see another Baez on the horizon. Sorry, but I've lost a lot of respect for this man this week. Too damn bad Trayvon can't ever be home with his family again.

sickening...

"He's very worried about the whole process, but I think we have built up a trust relationship, which is great," said O'Mara. "I think he is hopeful he will be out on bond tomorrow. He certainly wants to be back with his family."

What would you have Mr. O'Mara do? His client is clearly losing the PR war. Would you have a defense attorney let the entire world decide his client is guilty without adding a contrary view to the media gestalt?

The kind of defense attorney you seem to want him to be is like Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird. Great book, but very different era.

(None of this is to suggest I believe any of the defenses offered for GZ, just that I recognize that Mr. O'Mara is doing his job on a high-profile case.)

I don't have the link but I read or heard somewhere that GZ did not expect to be arrested, that he had offered to talk to AC and thought that was all that was going to happen, talk. So I am not sure about whether he technically did turn himself in.

IMO, JMO, etc.

He must not have been watching the news. Here's a WFTV article from a couple of days before his arrest.
Two sources told WFTV on Monday that gunman George Zimmerman could be arrested this week, and that a grand jury will not meet on Tuesday.

:floorlaugh: This made me think of a case in California, where a guy told his family and new young wife he was going to college to become a lawyer IIRC he forged papers from the college and told many many lies until his wife did a little checking and found out he had lied about the whole thing, then he told more lies to cover the old ones. well it was one big mess, and just goes to show that some will lie about anything. JMO

Or kind of Lori Hacking's husband Mark Hacking with his phony medical school.

I too think O'Mara is doing a good job in the PR department given what he took on...he doesn't talk specifics, he's trying to quell the emotions in this case..

At least he's not talking defense strategy other than to say when he gets the discovery, evidence, speaks with his client they will see what their options are..He's not out there defending like the other clowns....saying I'll try this in court...then you hear, well we think Mr Z had the blah blah blah..

So only time will tell...

Ive seen afew comments on Trayvon's parents (Mom) refusing to meet with George. I do think it would be unwise and so easily misconstrued on so many levels,,Its Wise to defer for now. Martins want to get answers to things in a court trial at this point...

Having said that tho..Once the trial is over and decisions are made on accountability of this shooter of their son..i would not put it past them to meet george. They are walking talking examples of spiritual human beings and I could see them meet with their sons killer :heartluv: These people hold no malice in their hearts and I so admire their grace and dignity

I agree. And I certainly hope on a victim friendly site we tread lightly here.
Trayvon's parents will be the parents of a murdered child for the rest of their time on this earth. That's a pretty heavy sentence. They didn't choose this, they don't deserve this, and I fully support them in whatever they do.

IIRC.. Atticus Finch defended an innocent man....A man of color who just so happened to be falsely accused of raping a white woman..JMHO

I agree that he's got to do something, but sadly I am afraid that with the help of Taefe, and Oliver and GZ's family out there he really doesn't have anything substantial to work with at this point, and maybe not at all.

Is it just me, or does it seem like there's some kind of full court press been run at us for the last 3 days before his bond hearing tomorrow morning?

Day before yesterday "neighbors", whose names don't show up on the appraiser's site, were coming forward for the first time after 2 months talking about seeing bandages and swelling the next day.

Yesterday, Francisxxxx er a "friend" told us about self made pictures of the grievous injuries that GZ had that's gonna set him free soon as a judge sees em, and shame every journalist in the western hemisphere.

Today, "remorseful" George wants to meet with the parents of the 17 year old boy that he killed, presumably to express his sincere regrets about their loss and, of course, his own captivity.

Wonder what's next?

I keep seeing your posts where you refer to FT as Francis.

Is Frank's real name Francis or are you altering it?

Can someone provide me with a link to this new Trayvon standing when shot permutation of the story? I seem to have missed it. Thanks.

Since I stated that IMO = IN MY OPINION, JMO = JUST MY OPINION there is no link. That is why I appended those qualifiers to my message - it is my opinion and I have no facts to verify the information.

But ALSO IN MY OPINION this law will be tested for it's constitutionality. If that is done as part of this case, then the law will not apply to this case if it is found unconstitutional. If it is done separately, then the SYG will still apply as far as I understand the way the process works. But as I am not a lawyer, I could have the process wrong.

I don't believe that's true.

I believe if the law is on the books when the incident occurred, it stands for the incident if it applies.

Pssst...Doc, quick....what's a permutation? :floorlaugh:

Thanks! Yes, the Miranda context is different and relevant and I've wondered about that, too. The practice here is, generally, to mirandize someone as your "slappin' the cuffs" on. I did not follow the Anthony trial at all. Did the policy have some strategy specific to her that they didn't mirandize her before interrogation? I've read that she's got quite an "interesting" personality. Or were they just that stupid? lol

I didn't think it was that smart but they had a strategy, which kind of worked. But the statements casey made were close to being thrown out.

<modsnip>Sanford Chief of Police and the city of Sanford; an official explanation is front and center on their web site specifically addressing why he was NOT arrested here: http://www.sanfordfl.gov/index.html.
It clearly states:

It doesn't say that he wasn't charged, it says that he wasn't ARRESTED. According to this sources, and countless others, he was NOT arrested, and I would presume that Sanford PD has more accurate information on that than just an assumption that handcuffs equal an arrest.

Yeah, I know. But it's semantics. He was arrested and released after a decision not to charge him was made. Then there was an outcry about why he was not charged, but, IMO, the word "arrest" was used instead because an arrest is usually associated with charges.

Thus, the initial reports actually led me to believe Zimmerman was never placed in handcuffs and taken in a squad car to LE headquarters to be interrogated. It seemed that he either was allowed to just go home or went to LE headquarters voluntarily and then just left after answering some questions. That astounded me. But, he was placed in handcuffs and taken in a squad car to be interrogated. And that is an arrest for purposes of 4th amendment search and seizure laws and Miranda.

It also gives me hope that a more thorough investigation than we expected was conducted, photos were taken, etc.
