Lee has been the director of Seminole State College's Center for Public Safety since 2009, according to the college's website.

Billy R. Lee, an associate dean at Seminole State College and former captain of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, was named Tuesday as Sanford’s new police chief.

I wonder if GZ ever took the criminology safety class that Bill Lee was teaching at the college?

But we don't know what the rules were at GZ's development do we?

I haven't seen that info posted anywhere but I may have missed it.

Yes we do know because they were posted here. Not sure which thread as it was awhile ago but the NWP booklet was posted, plus a statement by the police officer who ran the class. They were instructed to not follow and guns were prohibited, they were to report only. You would have to go back and search it to find it but it is there. jmo

And I think it's evidence that GZ had no idea where Trayvon had gone because he had lost sight of him. I have no reason to believe that GZ is telling lies during his call with the dispatcher.......remember that at this point there had not been a confrontation or shooting. And no way for GZ to have anticipated that there would be, so why make up lies for dispatch?
Yeah there was if he formed the intent to shoot him the minute he saw him, and the call to dispatch was his cover. This is what I believe happened, he profiled TM racially or otherwise and decided to go gunning for him. In other words, I believe this was premeditated 1st degree murder, but I'll settle for 2nd degree. IMO!

The policies from GZ's watch group were posted?

Or a national organization's?

Makes the reasoning for asking the Chief to stand down a little clearer, doesn't it???? Wow. How could he not know who the dean was???? jmo

Do you have a link for this? I don't recall reading that. TIA
From this article:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/george-zimmerman-tells-trayvon-martins-parents/story?id=16177849

"The person who took the photograph of a bloodied Zimmerman, asking not to be identified, told ABC News exclusively that they did not see the scuffle that night, but did hear it. The person recalled seeing Martin's prostrate body on the wet grass and said the gunpowder burns on Martin's gray hoodie were clearly visible.

Page 2

The photographer said that after the shooting, Zimmerman asked the photographer to call his wife. When the photographer asked him what to say, Zimmerman blurted out, "Man, just tell her I shot someone."

Investigators have seen the photo."

Not sure that necessarily means Police investigators. Maybe it means Mark O'Mara investigators?

I've seen the lengthy discussions. I've seen several opinions.

But I haven't seen the policies from GZ's watch group posted.

That's what I'm asking.

I'm having a hard time following this...if anything, it seems that GZ would have guessed Trayvon was older from far away, just because he was 6'3. When he got closer and saw his face, he would be able to get a better grasp.

I can't imagine someone hitting me so hard that they're age (in my mind) changes...
Who knows, though...

BBM

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Mind boggling..

I guess he looked like a kid but gave GZ a grown man azz whooping? ijdk

If you go back and search the instruction manual that was provided to the community is linked via a post and this was confirmed by the police officer who instructed the class on what was involved with the neighborhood watch. I'm assuming they are all the same because it is a watch program only. The police officer said they also had a civil patrol unit outside this community but they were only permitted to use radios...no guns were permitted while they were on patrol. If you go back and search you will find all the info right there. Most of us have already read it and have been discussing it for a long time so somehow you may have missed it. But it is there and was linked a number of times. jmo

IMHO..I'm somewhat inclined to agree..His call to dispatch convinced me he was up to no good...IMHO..He was setting the stage..JMHO

"Investigators have seen the photo."

It's a pretty non specific sentence, could mean anything, could mean that investigators knew about it all along, could mean that they hadn't seen it before ABC showed it them, could mean that they were shown by ABC right before they published it to get a response. It certainly doesn't show that it was always in the police files though.

Looks like one of those sentences that people can take away whatever they choose to take away from it.

Whoa, wait a minute. Folks for saying he was throwing a party for his AA degree but yet he was so close he was in the graduation ceremony anyway?

He had another course to go. I wouldn't have let him in the graduation ceremony but that's just me. As I said, I take these things seriously.

The rules for the watch group and several articles from the woman who trained GZ have been posted several times. Please search. They have been posted.

It might be helpful to you to read some of the earlier threads where this was discussed in detail. GZ was most assuredly a member of the NW so it is extremely legally relevant to this case. NW members are instructed not to follow or be armed when they are on patrol. GZ failed to follow both these policies.

He didn't break any laws when he failed to follow both polices as far as I know. JMO.

JMO/IMO
You probably have a point. GZ was running his own singularly unique organization. He was armed with 9mm, and he regularly patrolled the complex.
There are no Neighborhood watch groups that operate this way--No where in the nation.
Condo and homeowner associations aren't willing to put the assets of the entire complex at risk for the "help" of a armed volunteer vigilante. They aren't that stupid, and their attorneys aren't, either.
Why this particular condo decided to take monumental risks with the assets of the association and the owners, I will never know. But, I believe (IMO) they will pay dearly for their mind boggling and deliberate errors.

Huh? Following is not apprehending.

Are you saying that merely following someone is "taking a risk to prevent a crime"?

Sheesh. Why would following someone within your own community be taking a risk? Because they might get pissed off and assault you?
Neighborhood Watch ends at calling it in. You are NOT supposed to follow, and the dispatcher clearly told GZ they didn't want him doing that!
