investigator clearly said he didn't expect to be called to testify and he obviously hadn't reviewed any records or anything so why would his recolleciton of a minors NAME be of any relevance to anything. This was about BAIL not the minor witness or how prepared the investigator was. O'Mara was on a fishing expedition and I wouldn't put it past him to try and elicit the minors name from the prosecution witness so he could disclsim liability for it if the investigator did SAY it..pretty sleazy to me to even be questionig what someone's NAME is at a bail hearing...completely irrelevant-should have spent his time finding out about his clients windfall of money, now, that would be relevant at a bail hearing but that he doesn't bother finding out about.

You may be exactly right. In fact, I'm sure MO'M was fishing. That much seems clear.

But as for eliciting the minor's name, when examining a witness about a third-party, I think eliciting that party's name (to insure that you and the witness are taking about the same person) is SOP, don't you think?

Since I don't know O'Mara, I don't see why it's so hard to believe he simply asked for the witness' name out of habit. Especially since he seems to have caught his own error immediately.

They don't take the EXACT same statement 5 times. They take an initial incoming statement, then process that information, and come back with further questions. In the mean time they are gathering other witness information and discussing things among themselves, and they go back in for another portion of the interview. Each time they add more questions, or ask the same thing in different ways. Sometimes another detective may want to ask some questions. It goes on for quite awhile, and it is very common for there to be 3, 4, 5 or more statements made in the course of the evening.

That's a good explanation. Thank you. I still think, though, they wouldn't be "separate" statements if they all matched and had the same information. But I do agree with what you state above. My point is, I don't think he gave the same story five times, hence the five separate statements. I haven't seen them, though, so until we do, this is at a standstill. I have never wanted a doc dump so bad in my life!!!!!

It's hard not to catch the error when it's objected to imo.

If O'Mara doesn't know who the witnesses are, as the prosecutor said, him hearing the name for the first time wouldn't insure that they are talking about the same person the way identifying the witness as the other party in Trayvon's last phone call would.

O’Mara hired Shawn Vincent of Orlando’s Digital Marketing Revolution to manage a Facebook page as well. Within hours of the page going up, hundreds of people had posted comments both for and against the defendant, and a few people with fake user names shared harsh opinions of Trayvon Martin’s family. One commenter on O’Mara’s Facebook said Trayvon’s mother was “mooching” off white people’s money.

Within 24 hours, the site was changed so that users must submit comments for review before they are posted. Insults were deleted. About 1,800 people have “liked” the page so far.

Jayne Navarre, a South Florida consultant who devises social media strategies for lawyers, said O’Mara’s use of social media will “almost certainly” taint a jury pool and compromise Zimmerman’s shot at a fair trial. She said O’Mara also may be violating American Bar Association rules that prohibit a lawyer from helping third parties make prohibited extrajudicial comments.

BBM 1
Do we know anything about this person and is the State of Florida responsible for his wages in the event GZ gets his SYG acquittal?

BBM2
What exactly does this mean?

The site, discovered by a Canadian crime-forum user, was the latest discovery in an ongoing social media battle in the Zimmerman case. The Feb. 26 shooting of Miami Gardens teen Trayvon Martin received its first groundswell of attention on social media platforms, which were later used to portray the victim in a negative light. Now the defense is embracing those social media tools to provide forums for discussion — and to raise money.

Of course Serino wanted GZ arrested that night. GZ had brought some troubles down on the Sanford Police Department and the SA's office. They would have liked nothing better than to lock him up in jail and throw away the key. But STILL, it didn't happen. Here is why:

Some news agencies have reported that Sanford's lead investigator, Chris Serino, wanted Zimmerman charged with manslaughter that night but Wolfinger's office put a stop to it. The city of Sanford issued a statement saying that is not true.

Police did that night prepare an incident report that lists "manslaughter" as the possible crime being investigated, but in every case in which an officer prepares an incident report, he or she fills in that spot with some crime and statute number to allow the agency to properly report crime statistics to the FBI.

Two weeks ago, during an exclusive interview with the Sentinel, Lee disclosed certain details of the investigation and during that session, attended by Serino and others, Serino said his investigation turned up no reliable evidence that cast doubt on Zimmerman's account – that he had acted in self-defense.

"The best evidence we have is the testimony of George Zimmerman, and he says the decedent was the primary aggressor in the whole event," Serino told the Sentinel March 16. "Everything I have is adding up to what he says."

IMO-JMO-IMHO-MOO 'n stuff.

How credible is information coming from the police department, especially when they're disputing something that makes them look horrible?

Sanford PD is about as credible as GZ is.

Maybe through out his life, George Zimmerman has had his nose broken 5 different times, and it's back to it's original form.

I stand by my opinion that his nose was never broken either. Now that we get to see the new photos from 2005 of him, it's the same exact nose, nothing different about it.

It sure sounds, to me, like he thinks he's superior. Mexicans, black people...wow.

He is part....Latino I guess....or Hispanic. Makes no sense to me

Well, that's timely. Yep, we can discuss the 2005 MS page. :floorlaugh:

I find it interesting that he blogs about the 2005 incident where 2 felonies became one misdemeanor. I know we can't quote, but he says something to the effect of he knows he was wrong, but he still got his "hump."

Wonder what that means? lol

He refers to his ex-fiance (?)/girlfriend as his ex-hoe. I guess that's a popular way to refer to women.

It would have been interesting to see O'Mara's reaction when the reporter called to confirm that this online presence belongs to GZ.

This one is a seven-year old Myspace page called
“only to be king again” that makes disparaging comments about Mexicans. The page, which his attorney confirmed Tuesday is legitimate, makes reference to 2005 criminal cases and a brush in court with a woman who Zimmerman called his “ex-hoe.”

Anyone else thinking someone may have influenced Serino? Seems he is singing a different tune NOW... Not surprised at all... JMHO

If it is now open for discussion, it is open for linkage, though I'd expect it to vamoose toot sweet. All other social media WS rules apply. No copy and paste. No screen shots. No sleuthing or even so much as a mention of anyone other than GZ who may have posted there.

I will look into opening a thread for social media discussion (remember, we have a forum now).
