2008.08.05 Greta Interview with Anthonys

Listening to the GP interview last night with GV. They are in Caylees bedroom. The camera panned to a large picture of Caylee's face. Looked like her eyes were closed. Gma explained why they apparently liked it so much...."That picture was when she was two days old. That had a lot of Caylees personality..... the expression like.. ya know what? ya better behave, she's got her eye on ya."

That sounded so odd to me. An innocent newborn being portrayed as someone to be reckoned with, mistrusted. Why that? Why not something endearing?

I thought the same thing. I figure it was Cindy's way of reminding casey that she was now a mom and should behave like one.

LOL I heard her and I thought.. No way did she just say that! Her daughter is sitting in jail on charges including lying :bang: but it isn't criminal offense?
Yeah and why didn't Greta call her on that DUHHH? I want to see someone get aggressive with GM and call her on the dumbsh*t she says

I thought it was a really strange comment. Why not something like Caylee was so alert and smart. Maybe Cindy grilled Caylee quite a bit and that made Casey angry and felt betrayed somehow. I also noticed the photo collage on the wall that Cindy said she made as a shower gift for Casey. I don't believe I saw any pics of Casey holding Caylee but there was one of George and one of Cindy holding her. If there was one of Casey, it wasn't a close up like theirs.

Every interview the Anthonys give is more bizarre than the last one. I think Casey's parents probably didn't know at first what happened to Caylee but by now they've figured it out. They know their granddaughter isn't coming back.

And now it's all about damage control. They've lost Caylee, and as sick as it sound to be protecting the person who did this to her, they don't want to lose Casey too. That's the reason for all the backtracking and trying to wiggle her out of this mess.

JBean, I agree with you. I don't think the parents are involved in what happened to Caylee.

Do I think they've had poor judgment in talking to the media? Yes. Do I think they love their daughter and want to protect her? Yes. Do I think they want to believe that Caylee is alive and that their daughter had nothing to do with it? Yes. Do I think they believe what Casey has been telling them and LE? No.

I believe, in their hearts, they know know that Caylee is not alive but they still have a glimmer of hope that they are wrong, just as many of us here do. I think that everything they have done, right or wrong - and, clearly, mostly wrong - since Casey was arrested has been in an effort to keep her from being charged with a capital offense.

HI distracted.
I think theywere trying to stay in the media to help find Caylee..but they are quickly learning that without guidance they are saying all the wrong things. It's like they are thinking out loud and blurting out whatever comes to mind, be it right or wrong.
If I were them, I would have lawyered up and gotten professional guidance on how to interact with the media. What to say, what not to say and the like.
I don't think they are revealing guilt as much as ignorance to the ways of the law, court and media. I mean why would they know what to do and how to handle themselves?
Cindy said in one of interviews that if they show her concrete evidence that Casey did something bad, then she thinks that Casey is where she belongs.
Remember, she called the cops on her own daughter when she stole the car. I applaud her for that..but little did she know she was blowing the lid off a can of worms.

Mine was faulty last year, but I never stole gas:) I bought it, as usual.

Well you would think then that Casey could have just told them "hey I didn't know I was on empty again and I had to break into the shed because I was stranded, sorry." Instead she felt the need to lie.

Yes, I even think she said that Casey may deserve to spend the rest of her life in jail. I'll have to find that interview. It may have been last night on GVS.

They have made huge mistakes in the media and have made things worse by trying to clear up those mistakes. They really just need to concentrate on looking for Caylee.

One other observation - I think they look guilty of involvement, even if they aren't, because they don't really believe what they are saying in these interviews and it doesn't sound sincere. Maybe we'll never know what their true motivation is but I would be surprised to learn that they had anything to do with Caylee's disappearance.

Now, were they involved in trying to lessen the charges after the fact? Possibly. It would explain why Cindy said that she found the charges filed yesterday to be a victory.

I feel very strongly about this and I think the parent bashing is out of WS character.
I think there is a difference between inconsistent statements and being a liar. Casey is a liar. The parents not so much at this point, imo. I think these parents are learning how throwing around information casually or without thought is coming back to bite them in certain areas. I also see information being twisted by us here at WS and also by the media.

IMO, Cindy believes that Caylee is alive and I also think that George wants to believe it but his common sense is telling him otherwise.

I think these 2 are extremely conflicted and understandably so. They want to believe so badly they are racking their brains for information that may help.

I know I would be reluctant to think that my daughter was responsible for the death of my granddaughter. I would support my child until such time that it was clear to me that she did wrong. These parents are not at that point yet.
But their true test of character will come when it is clear to them that Casey is behind this and they continue to support her craziness.

"If that pints the finger to my daughter and they have concrete proof and not circumstantial evidence, I'll be the first one to say she needs to be where she's at," Cindy said.

Great post.

The vitriol and accusations toward the grandparents in some of these posts are over the top, imo. Perhaps the grandparents have not shown the "right" judgement at times, but they are NOT POI's or suspects in this case.

After you are told that there is NO WAY that a cadaver dog can mistake a rotting pizza with human remains.... you stop trying to push that misinformation.

If you keep repeating something you have been told is FALSE.... then you are willfully LYING.

If you're lying..... how can the public believe anything you say???

I also thought George was wanting to look in the trunk and using the wedge excuse . It's also another example of the mind games played instead of just telling her to butt out, that he was going to look it the trunk, like it or not.
'
thats what I thought...if MY Dad wanted to see something in the trunk, he wouldve just gotten the keys and that wouldve been the end. I thought that part of the interview was so strange!

She also said in 911 call that she couldnt find her Granddaughter. I give her credit and that makes me believe she didnt have anything to do with it. She's under alot of stress, maybe thats why she comes across as Odd sometimes but she must feel half nuts. I dont think she is sure WHAT to do. So shes a great housekeeper, Ive known people like that. George is a yard freak, nothing wrong either, looks nice and they put alot of nice things back there for Caylee, you can tell she was adored by GP's

Do any here think that the baby was left in the car while casey partied?

I am beginning to think the baby died in the car.

Then the cover up began.

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

I do...Either while out at a club or shopping.....Or left Caylee unattended in the pool.

George mentions how Casey always had a second car key in her pocket in case she locked Caylee (and her purse) inside the car....

I am a little puzzled as to why Mr. Anthony kept the wheel chocks (wedge) in the Pontiac. As best we can determine that car was mostly driven by Casey and if one has car problems and needs a tool, chock (whatever) you want it at the home where you would be working on one of the vehichles, no? Why in the car of a young woman who seems to like to be off and about a good bit?

They have 3 sheds and their garage was very organized and their yard, home etc looks much the same. If Mr Anthony is one prone to work on the cars rather than take them to a shop, the chocks would be kept at the home in my idea if logic. I certainly don't think Casey seems the sort to work on her own car, if so she obviously needs a few gaskets, as that Pontiac appears to leak a good bit (oil stains on driveway).

My point...it seems to me Mr Anthony knew or strongly suspected Casey had taken the gas cans and he wanted to look in her trunk. That was just his excuse to look....but imo he had a reason be it gas cans or whatever, he wanted to see inside that trunk.
casey's car was originally owened by Lee her brother...Lee gave the car to Casey
