.... Little Richard looks like he did 20 years ago...
I thought the same thing. I was actually going to research to see how old JLL was. His voice still sounded good, though. :)

Best part of the Kanye West performance was the dj'ing by Daft Punk.
We didn't like that Kanye rambled and then thought that they should bend the rules for him. I felt sorry for him because he lost his Mom and obviously had a very, very close bond to her. However, he does seem like he has a "all about me" attitude. :o In fact, when several people started saying little comments, it was apparent that others felt this way, too.

I just love Vince Gill. He is so talented and so humble. I noticed that he rushed and cut his speech short because I assume he was getting that "wrap it up" warning. :o

The best of the Grammy's for me last night was the FOO FIGHTERS performance. Love the Foo Fighters and I'm glad they won a Grammy.

I also don't get the big deal about Amy Winehouse.

My wife agrees with you, but I'm on the other side of the fence. I thought it was funny that Kanye told them to stop playing the music, especially when he was talking about his mother. I don't like the fact that they start cutting them off. I think it's a bit rude.

On the other hand, I can see why they would need to do this, otherwise the speeches would just go on and on and on.

Lol! Dunno how "mature" you are but any of us over 30 got to go back in da day last night....it was so awesome wasn't it?????? I have to say it was quite refreshing to watch an awards show and my 14 yr old DD was all    . Normally I am the one   with all the new popsy rappy thingymajigs coming out monthly. Just when I think I am getting "cool" and try to name the singer of a song nowadays..I quickly get reminded of how cool I am not..

Jerry Lee is 72??!?!? Wow!! I thought he was older..Tina is 68, and Mama's still got it going on!

Tina showed up Beyonce!!! I can remember when Tina made it back on to the scene after some absence, back in the 80's and how everyone crowed on and on about her being an older woman burning up the rock scene. Now, some 20+ years later, and she is STILL shaking her tail like no tomorrow... love her!

Sorry some of yall don't get the Wino love. I guess what draws me to her is that in a time when music seems all about being manufactured, Amy's the real deal... real talent... not manufactured. Before she got popular with her current album, she had a following from her former work... my most favorite of her songs is the Pumps one from her Frank album.

My DD actually turned me on to Amy Winehouse, we are all fans now. She may have problems, but hey who doesn't ((in one way or another))..she can still knock it out of the park!....and yes she is real.

When I first saw Amy, without having heard her voice, I was completely turned off (which just shows to go ya!). But the more I hear her, the more I like her, for the reasons others have said - she's real and doesn't sound like everyone else. I was doing some internet surfing on her last night and I couldn't believe these two different clips I found. Check it out. Both are clips from what looks like a celeb game show called "Nevermind the Buzzcocks" (any Brits out there that can shed some light?). They are obviously a few years apart and what a difference! In the first she is absolutely gorgeous - reminds me of Carly Simon in her younger days. She also seems painfully shy. In the second clip...well see for yourself.

I love Amy's song "Back to Black" - LOVE IT! The girl clearly has her issues, but IMO her voice is unbelievable. I think her sound is so soulful.

Beyonce's face looked different to me. It was interesting to watch the body language going on when Rihanna won and tried to grab Jay-Z's hand (he has been rumored to be a little to "friendly" with his protege). Tina was ridiculous, the Beatles songs were unbelievable - chill inducing, and I really enjoyed Alicia Keys and Kanye (when singing, not speaking).

Not sure if I am spelling her name correctlyI loved the duet with Keelie Smith and Kid Rock. That lady is way up there in age and I only know from her husband Louie Primo and her from my mom. I love Alicia's voice, but who the heck dresses her? Her gown was beautiful, but when she entertains I prefer she stay seated at the piano. A dancer she ain't. Plus them tights aren't figure flattering on anyone let alone a girl who is built. Been a fan of Amy's from get go, and that's talent. That can't be taught. I pray the girl can get it together. Ummm, Kanye needs to shut up! Him, he works a last nerve. Herbie Hancock though, man it was so good to see him win. Another true talent. I iwsh Natalie Cole and Tony Bennett would have performed, and sadly I didn't know Max Roach had passed this year. Oh yeah and Carrie Underwood is a class act, and they could have just let that child come out with just a microphone. She didn't need all that going on behind her.

I loved it too and I'm pretty old. lol
I was only 10 when the Beatles came to the USA, and I followed their career for years. I was delighted to see Ringo Starr and the tribute to them.

It was so cute when Vince Gill said "I was just presented an award by a Beatle" and then he asked "Kanye have you ever gotten an award from a Beatle"?...or something to that effect..Vince is such a good ol' boy I expected him to say "awww shucks" at some point..

I was wondering what Kanye would do this time that would annoy the crap outta me. It was his little statement about other people deserving it "as much as me." That and his refusal to get the heck off the stage.

"WE OWN THIS". I know he was saying it to his mom, but he just never shuts it. Best is Usher saying "THere are no losers in this catagory, Kanye" for the best album award.
