They really do not want to give us much info do they!

I caught the end of it....
This is what I got from what I saw.
Nothing new, although they confirmed that one of the tips they received was that Misty wasn't home all night like she told investigators.
LE is following up on that tip, but has no other new info at this time and won't comment on that.
They interview family members as needed and were not clear (at least to me) on their answer when asked why this tip was leaked, but all other questions (asked by the media) are not.
I hope I'm making sense.

Did he say that they had "good solid leads"?

From what I heard (which was only half of it because my little girl was crying) he didn't say anything about any leads, and they are still following up on the tip that Misty may not have been home, however, they aren't ready to comment on that.

I watched the whole thing but, I didn't hear him say anything about a picture.

The reporter said "pink shirt" real fast....that's how it got confused with picture.

Yeah, they said "pink shirt" not "picture".

Mercy, they sure don't want to give us much info do they?

I sensed something when he answered the question of whether Ron's alibi checked out...HMMMM!!!

I didn't hear that it was confirmed that she was not home all night, I heard they are still looking into the tip, he even said the tip may not be good. Did I miss something?:waitasec:

Me too! There was just something about the way he said it.

No you didn't miss anything.
What I meant was that they confirmed that they had indeed received a tip that Misty was not home all night like she had told the investigators and they were investigating it like they do all the tips they receive.
Sorry for the confusion.
I didn't get much sleep last night and need some coffee! :D

clicked just in time to watch it on first coast. Here is synopsis of the presser (I missed the opening comments about the service last night)

They have over 1200 leads currently and they continue to pour in. They are saturating the PCSO so they are now going to crime stoppers. One reporter asked if any of the leads are solid leads and the S replief that yes, several of them were SOLID LEADS and they were being followed. S further states that he cannot elaborated on tips or leads because they are very concerned for the well being of this little girl and do not want to jeopardize the case (my thought...do they think she is somewhere close being held alive) The case of her being last seen in a pink shirt is now found to be incorrect as the shirt was in the home. S states he wants people to focus on the face as even the hair can be changed

As per the misty tip that she was not home that night of the "abduction"... The S states that it is a tip and not verification that her story is changing per se. He states the tip may not be valid. When the reporter asked why they knew of this tip but of no others the S said that he did not know how this tip got out and reiterated they are not sharing tips due to the concern they have for the life of this little girl. S states that Misty will be questioned about the tip if she hasn't been already.

S states that the father's alibi he was at work has checked out.

There will be no ground search today (none planned) but that if things change there is a crew sitting at the ready to commence a search as needed. One reported asked if the family was being updated and the S stated they were being updated as warranted (meaning if they follow a lead and it does not pan out they do not inform the family of that each and every time.....only when it is relevant to the case)

There will be another update at four pm.

I just read this......

(Snipped)
Investigators also revealed on Tuesday new information about Amber Alert that was issued last week, say they have the pink T-shirt Haleigh was originally thought to be wearing the night she disappeared.

"We obtained information through our investigation that young Haleigh was not, in fact, wearing the pink shirt at the time of her disappearance," Putnam County Chief Deputy Rick Ryan said. "What we need people to focus on (Haleigh's) face because we do not know at this time what the clothing was."

Misti didn't even know what she was wearing??? OMFG! This is really starting to unravel.....

They should release photos showing her with short hair and with brown hair. with a large picture of her face.

Exactly! I couldn't agree more!

They refuse to comment on anything significant, while throwing out random tidbits of info that sound like they incriminate Misty. From my observation, the only point of these little press conferences is to break Misty down until she confesses.

Am I reading this the wrong way or does anyone else get the feeling they may believe that Haleight is still alive? (God, I hope so but we all know the longer the timeline the less likely the child is still with us). I really have thought MC had something sinister to do with this and now I'm not so sure that's the road LE is pursuing.

From LE saying to focus on Haleigh's face, taking that into context it would be a possibility if she was kidnapped, that the abductor would try and alter her appearance..

Hi Sleuthy(thanks:))

I asked this question yesterday morning, during wrap speed and never saw a response. I think it may! As horible as that may be for Haleigh right now, i pray she is alive. If she's alive, she can hopefuly work through the rest.Let's hope someone talks today!

Sounds like not much to go on...

the phrasing: "we are very afraid for the well being of this little girl" in regards to not being able to share any tips and leads and also stressing over an over her clothes and hair could have been changed and to focus on the face.... well that certainly gives me that feeling as well sleuthymama! What scares me is the amount of time that has passed...if a mobile offender HAS abducted her and took her alive somewhere. We all know how the Shasta Groen case turned out tho....so there is still hope. Speaking of Shasta...I hope LE has been checking camp grounds!

My daughter hid from me at Sam's Wholesale once and for the life of me I could not remember what I had dressed her in that day. I am a grown (and IMO intelligent) woman. This girl is all of 17 and not the brightest bulb in the pack. I'd guess that the 5yr old dressed herself for bed.
