Perhaps Ron was out in the afternoon digging a grave and he went back to this site after he dropped HaLeigh off at home. Could extensive use of a shovel cause the wounds seen on Ron's hands. Are they possibly defense wounds?
well, he, himself, told the cops that he punched a door, so the tree theory, is kind of pointless...but since he also said that there was no fight, & then much later changed that story, it's only logical to presume that the injuries came from that fight. That's what happens when someone lies...it creates the need to tell more & more lies. I think, if LE is on the ball here, they'll reconfront Ron with that fight. & then reconfront him with that door. They need to find out if Ron really did punch that door, & why, because his earlier stories aren't holding much water. so...if Ronald had hurt his hands, while trimming trees, why not just say so, from the beginning? Why blame it on emotional distress that he took out on the door? Why lie about a fight, over a gun, or anything else? Nope. Ron needs to be interrogated.I can't even picture rc cutting trees. My research told me that Aunt Katrina also had a window tinting business. Now that is something I see him doing. If you are doing tree work, you wear VERY thick heavy gloves. I see them out here and they are dressed and protected. I can't think of anyone NOT wearing substantial gloves who use saws and heavy equipment.
Those cuts on his hands were not from any tree cutting. He likes to punch things.
I've done some shovel work, & yes it does damage the hands-but it's more blistery & raw, not cut & scratched. & honestly, I can't really see his injuries as defensive wounds, or the result of punching a door...but, maybe some kind of offensive wounds. Somebody mentioned brass knuckles, & that's a maybe, but I was thinking more on the line of rings, & the cuts maybe coming from the stones. If someone throws punches, while wearing rings, I'd think that the rings might twist & turn, & therefore, the stones, might cut the wearer's hands.Perhaps Ron was out in the afternoon digging a grave and he went back to this site after he dropped HaLeigh off at home. & I wonder which of his versions, is true-if any.BBM..
And according to a local who used to post here.. Ron C told him...

Very possible. But most workers I've seen who trim trees, or work with landscaping always wear gloves to at least protect their hands and forearms.

Reporter's Notes: Haleigh Cummings and the "Gun Story"
TJ Hart
"snip" http://www.thesky973.com/pages/7970706.php
The issue raised recently by lawyers representing Misty Croslin and Tommy Croslin where each stated a dispute over a machine precipitated the abduction of Haleigh Cummings by Misty and Tommy's cousin Joe Overstreet from Tennessee.
In a televised press conference from firstcoastnews.com held by Ronald and Teresa Neves, 9 days after Haleigh disappeared, Ronald plays down any notion that and argument took place about a gun.

Ron Cummings Agrees to Plea Deal
Aired August 20, 2010
"Snip" http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1008/20/ijvm.01.html
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I understand -- speaking of guns, Art Harris -- you have some new information about Misty and a gun?
HARRIS: That`s right. Misty had slept with a gun under her pillow that Ron gave her to protect herself from just such intruders but it was not under the pillow that night. She told that to Flo Hollars. She told that to her attorney who I interviewed. And what happened to those guns? Ron took them out of the house. The guns are at the heart of their alibi. And that is that --
HARRIS: The machine gun that he kept in the closet that he showed to Tommy and Joe a week earlier they were drinking beer and he really loved his guns, had a gun fetish. A lot of his ex-wives said he would put a gun in his mouth and play Ronald Roulette. But here he wanted that gun. Joe wanted to steal that gun and it wasn`t there.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: FLO HOLLARS, Did you know that Misty, your granddaughter, slept with a gun under her pillow?
HOLLARS: Yes, ma`am.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Tell me about that. Why?
HOLLARS: I really can`t say why. All I know is she said she had to sleep with a gun under her head every night in case anybody came in to shoot them.
PICAZIO: The only thing I could figure would be if he heard information from Misty or from Tommy, someone in the family after the fact.
Also, law enforcement has forensic evidence from the trailer or from the crime scene; witnesses in the community that people who are working on the case and who were inside in the case working for one of the parents.
We did come to know some of those things. Ron has to have known about those things and Ron was not telling the entire truth when he said that he was at work the whole time and things of that nature.
So there`s a lot of things that Ron will say --
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Wait, wait you`re saying he did leave work that night before he came home, that there`s some mystery story we don`t know about?
PICAZIO: Well, there are some reports that have been substantiated or not by law enforcement about the time that he did get to work and prior nights where he had left work. And we also had confirmation from a security guard at his employer`s that on two occasions Ron had the children, Haleigh and her little brother, Junior sleeping in the car, while he was at work and came to check out on them.
So that might go to the phone calls that he was trying to get in touch with Misty because that would happen when Misty leave the trailer. Misty had left the trailer before on many evenings. We had eyewitness accounts by the neighbors that we had personally spoken to.
Report: Misty Croslin is lying about abduction, grandma TN says
Orlando Sentinel August 18, 2010

Teresa Neves says she doesn't believe what Misty Croslin has told investigators about the night Haleigh vanished in February 2009.
Teresa Neves, said Croslin's allegation that her cousin Joe , put Haleigh screaming in a bag and took her away, sounds like a lie.
"How could a 5-yr-old scream like that and neighbors not hear? It just doesn't add up," Neves said.

I second that.Thank you so much for bumping up this pertinent thread!
Hinky isnt it? Either Flo is mistaken. Misty lied to her grandma. OR good Lord, she really did have a weapon under the pillow, and if it was loaded - in which case yikes. And if so, why wasnt it there on the one night she supposedly needed it?Repectfully snipped for space...
All I know is she said she had to sleep with a gun under her head every night in case anybody came in to shoot them.
bolded by me....I just simply can't believe that Misty slept with a gun..under her head/pillow..with 2 small children ....in the bed..WITH HER.....How dangerous in that???...It seems Haleigh and Junior slept in the same room with Misty and Ron...and it seems in the same bed with Misty quite often...AND NOW WE LEARN SHE HAS A WEAPON UNDER HER HEAD/PILLOW..???...KIDS IN THE SAME ROOM!!!!!..kids would SURELY see it/find it/know it.........YIKES!!!!!..Really unbelieveable to me....
If there was a fight that occurred on the 9th the day before they staged the MH to look like an abduction so they could report her missing...
LE taking their clothes doesn't mean a thing... They had time to change clothes and discard any clothes they were wearing on the 9th that could have provided LE with clues as to what may have happened..Wonder IF that garbage bag they saw Misty with in the Shell Harbor contained the clothes they were wearing on the 9th of February?JMO
