Back to Lin. Please put this in your mind when you think of your dad------Holdin the baby--maybe swayin--you in the crook of his arm. Awwwwww! Laying his finger tips over your tiny lil eyes---awwwww---so you could grab that tiny "touch" and gently ease off to sleep. Awwwwwwww. Thank You for making me see that pic. Awwwwww. I lub you. But I hate KC. LOL

Thank you, MAMABEAR = I loved reading that! I used to rub my baby's nose in that way. I only had him for 23 years, but I have that - and other- sweet memories.

Can anyone find a defense motion asking for physical evidence (hairs) that was approved in court? Can we find a motion like this that was denied?

I just found this motion that was brought to court on 1/8. It states that a previous motion (11/25) was granted to allow testing of hair from the vehicle. But as of 1/7, the State had not yet allowed inspection and testing.

I have no clue what the Judge ruled on this motion (1/8). Does anyone know what became of this?

I had to post this even though I haven't read thru all the posts all yet. I would almost bet the farm that I remember reading a doc about chloroform being found in Caylees hair. The reason why I think I remember is because I live in Tn and the hair was either tested at Oak Ridge Lab or by Univ. of Tenn. Now I could have got my facts mixed up so I'm gonna finish reading the posts and then look for that doc!

My apologies if all this has been worked out!

I would think that if this were true that the news media would be all over this.

That's what I was thinking -- two different methods of "exposure" and what difference that would make. For (b) I'd add possible saturation from liquid chloroform used for cleaning or other purpose to the chloroform from decomp mechanism. I just have no answers, only questions.

Amethyst...I was being indirect 'bout it, but, to put in another way.

If there WASN'T chloroform in the hair THAT would be the bombshell.

The trunk was saturated w/ the chloroform that resulted from decomposition.

I'm 99.9% sure there has been NO discovery released where chloroform was indicated in Caylee's hair. If it were, it would be a true bombshell, and would link KC to the crime. You're definitely on to something, unless Dr. Baden's comment was hypothetical.

I've been hoping that traces of chloroform would be found in the hair, but I also hear that it evaporates quickly. I don't know if hair strands would absorb and preserve it.

On that note, we know no fingerprints from CA, GA or LA were found on the duct tape. But am I correct in understanding that KC's fingerprints MAY be on the tape, and they're holding back that info?

NO fingerprints! Noone said "NO DNA".. hopefully her spit will be on it from ripping it with her nasty mouth

ITA, it would not make sense to go to the trouble of buying it online or going through the hassle of making it to put your kid to sleep for 15 minutes. Benadryl is much easier, cheaper and puts most kids to sleep for a couple of hours.

I always felt that Casey may have lifted the chloroform from the tattoo parlor she went to. Plenty of these places illegally use it for piercings. They couldn't admit to having it stolen because they would have to admit to breaking the law by having it to begin with.

JMO-but I since learning of the computer searches for chloroform (and I believe how to MAKE it not BUY it), I have always thought KC INTENDED to kill Caylee. She may have tried more than once but misjudged the dose. There are just too many readily available, easier ways to sedate a child if that is the intent. The more I learn (even accepting some as pure hearsay or gossip) I have come to believe that KC is wicked, evil and potentially very dangerous. I also feel that LA is either immensely stupid or an accessory after the fact - and maybe both. Again, JMHO.

I thought that's what the knife, that Cindy washed, was used for.
IMO

YES! I saw that on Geraldo last night, too. I even made a note of the statement. The second I heard him say "found chloroform in the baby's hair" I just knew that had to be a slip! I'll bet he had he## to pay when he got home. I have been out all day so I was thrilled to see this thread. Thanks, Patty. And just think, the subject last night was Anna Nicole.

Nobody has provided evidence that the defense was given any hairs to test in the first place. If this happened, it would either be the State providing them voluntarily, or by force via a defense motion.

Can anyone find a defense motion asking for physical evidence (hairs) that was approved in court? Can we find a motion like this that was denied?

That's what I'm skeptical about. It arose on some prior posts that perhaps the defense discovered chloroform in the hair during their own autopsy. But surely the prosecution would have discovered the same chloroform. I can only imagine that if Baden was indeed talking about a find, then the state has it too and we just haven't been privy to it yet.

Where does it say "no Casey fingerprints"?

Since Chloroform detected in Caylee's hair would be a "BOMBSHELL" of NG proportions, whichever autopsy revealed it, is DR BADEN'S "Revelation" the lead "Breaking News" item on all the networks and news sites?

I think not.

Baden on GR was just babbling as he does. He no doubt takes greater care when being consulted in an official capacity, but on Fox he is partly an entertainer. A regular on "Red Eye" as the Death correspondent. A passing word is hardly how he or anybody else would announce a major new revelation. Besides I do not think Mrs Death tells him what's for dinner, let alone details of the case.

No, it's not breaking news YET... the networks hardly work over the weekend and this info is just getting out. It was such a quick comment, I doubt eve Geraldo even 'caught it' as they were talking about Anna Nicole.

I don't think it was a babble, it really seemed like a slip up. I for one believe this will become big news soon.

If I am not mistaken, RM deleted the advertisment for chloroform off of his computer the day that KC was arrested. I thought it was odd at the time and now I wonder why. Anyone else?

If this is true, I wonder if RM KNEW that KC was using Chloroform on Caylee...as a "babysitter"?

Soo....could the following be distinguished...one from the other: :waitasec:

a) hair on an alive Caylee that underwent uptake of chloroform if given to her over peri-mortem on at least one occassion, if not more

vs.

b) hair on a post-mortem Caylee that was enclosed in a trash bag that was saturated with chloroform resulting from anaerobic decomposition

I expect the peri-mortem updtake is 'banded' based on the growth rate of the hair whilst post-mortem absorption would be uniform along the length of the hair.

If Casey were dosing Caylee peri-mortem, then, the post-mortem absorption would certainly cloud the results...wouldn't it? :waitasec:
I keep thinking about the bag...the one that the defense kept trying to get info on at the hearing. Could that hold traces of chloroform?

While I know that Casey would have access to pool shock and bleach, I wondered where she might get acetone (not the kind that you use for nail polish). I guess one may buy it online. I know labs get it from medical suppliers/vendors. I can't remember specifically what type of medical facility CA worked in. Acetone is usually kept in laboratories.

Acetone can be found at your local Home Depot.

Acetone can be found at your local Home Depot.

AETONE can easily be found in any grocery store, super market, drug store etc., it is the main ingredient in fingernail polish remover. Most will see NON-ACETONE formula as you shouldn't use ACETONE if you have tips and acrylic nails. It will melt the tips that are used and damage the acrylic.

I'm still searching... but I admit I may have gotten confused with the Caylees' hair sample(item Q12.1 i believe) from the trunk of the car(pgs 7-9), and the chemical analysis chart on this link:

http://www.docstoc.com/docs/2053190/FBI-Lab-Results-(Casey-Anthony)-Searchable-Doc
Doc states that the Q12.1 sample to be returned to OCSO.

Doc also says that chloroform is "not a common ingredient in commercial products". I just thought that was an interesting bit of info.

Doc also concluded that the car trunk contained "an unusually large concentration of chloroform-far greater than what is typically seen in human decomposition".

I'm going to check a couple other places for that doc I THINK I remember!
