In my opinion this NOTION of KC protecting her family was drummed up by Cindy herself. You see her in one video taped jailhouse visit with KC inject this scenario into the entire mess. (Paraphrasing) She asks KC "if she is doing this to protect them" - KC ignores her and is adjusting herself and the sound or something - then Cindy says again "KC are you doing this because someone threatened to hurt us" - KC kinda lights up and you can almost see her thinking that that was a great excuse.

She then says something like - "I am trying to protect all of us..."

remember that well...God bless that little angel kc...always out to protect others.....NOT!!!!!

I was flabbergasted by what I saw this morning. What was the point. I posted my comments (below) on CBS and invite others to do so.

If this morning's appearance by the Anthony's is considered an interview by Early Show standards, then there's little wonder why it is in third place. If a good journalist researches its subject. and seeks to find the truth, then Ms. Rodriguez is no journalist. Has she not seen videos of the recent depositions of George and Cindy Anthony (nearly everyone else has); has she not learned that Cindy Anthony had threatened to seek custody of little Caylee or that KC stole from various family members, or that KC was unemployed for over 2 years when she was leaving KC in the care of her grandparents and others?

Yet Ms. Rodriguez chose to sit like a lump on a log while the Anthony's claimed how wonderful a mother Casey was; while Cindy claimed Caylee merely lived with them she never interferred in her upbringing... That was neither journalism, an interview or truth seeking by any measure.

Based on today's appearance, one can only assume that tomorrow CBS will prostitute itself for ratings by shilling for donations to a foundation the Anthony's have begun. Good luck with that.... I'll no longer be watching. I'll be too busy writing boycott letters and emails to The Early Show's sponsors.

Caylee Anthony: Cindy tells CBS' 'Early Show' that she considered suicide but Casey kept her from it

"Cindy reveals that George wasn't the only one who considered suicide. She did, too," "Early Show" anchor Maggie Rodriguez told me. "She wrote several suicide notes. Then Casey came home for the first time. When they released her the first time, Cindy says they sat together and prayed, and Casey kept her from going through with it."

Oh brother ..

I just thought of a wonderful question that an interviewer should ask Cindy and George, "When Caylee's murderer is found, what do you think the penalty should be?"

can they be questioned about any of these public statements in court with respect to their inconsistencies?
I agree with the esteemed poster who said these public appearances are good for the prosecution to study. this is so true!!

one thing i would like to point out: It shows that ga and ca can control their behavior and emotions, they often just choose not to. That means their bad behavior cannot be excused by "they are grieving" etc. They just choose to be nasty to certain people under certain circumstances. you are so right. They were so nasty to jm and km because they called them outright under oath on their many lies and it was difficult for them to come out on the other side looking good. They were trapped and they knew it, and they were mad! Cindy has anger issues though, that's obvious, but when she gets angry, she's nasty. It's one thing to get angry... But it's another to get "nasty" when you're angry. (getting nasty when one is angry shows a character flaw imo).

also, it baffles me that casey could not give any information because it would endanger caylee and the family, yet she broadcast the full name of the kidnapper, where she was from, her mother and sister's name etc. Why don't the interviewers ever get that question out there???? i have forgotten how many people ca has already named as the kidnapper or supposed "nanny" from jg to rc to ah even though le told her that there was no evidence that these people had anything to do with the kidnapping of little caylee. She still to this day tries to blame it on jg. Shame on ca!!
my bold

And what will part 2 of this interview be about? George and his boat? Their foundation? IMO they ought to be ashamed. Neither of the A's would help search for the baby's body when she was missing, instead CA would go on TV and talk down about LE's handling of the case and also backtrack and lie about what she had previously told police. They haven't helped find Caylee in any way, shape or form from day one. Their only effort they've made that I have seen is to try very hard to protect KC. IMO this "foundation" is a joke.

I watched the interview on YouTube and my impression was that the second half of the interview to be aired tomorrow is going to showcase the new foundation.

I'd really like to see a public outcry about this! First of all, Caylee was never missing. Her mother, Casey, knew exactly where Caylee was and simply refused to tell anyone, making up the kidnapping story to cover her rear end. Secondly, the Anthonys never searched for Caylee. They posted a website pleading for donations to search for Caylee, sold T-shirts and bracelets; passed out flyers, and drove a huge billboard around Orlando, but never actually searched for Caylee. Thirdly, the Anthonys obstructed the search efforts of bonifide search groups, and refused to cooperate or support those search efforts.

There's a lot of questions to be answered. If the Anthonys had a website asking for donations to fund the search of Caylee, why weren't those funds collected turned over to TES, who organized two massive searches for Caylee?

Another question that needs to be answered is how the Anthonys have been able to afford to quit working? Prior to this case becoming a national headline on July 15, 2008, the Anthonys were in debt. Now neither GA or CA needs to work.

If the Anthonys new foundation is related to missing children, GA and CA are the last people on earth to be in a position to advise or help people with missing children. If the foundation is related to families of murdered children, again, GA and CA are not the people who should be advising relatives of murdered children.

If the purpose of the Anthonys new foundation is to provide a source of income so GA and CA don't have to work at bonefide jobs, then it's not really a foundation to help others as much as it's a foundation to help the Anthonys, and should be so stated.

Cindy is deluding herself, picturing in her mind that the trial will fix it all. The trial has become her only hope. She is acting like this is a movie, and in the end the dramatic trial scene will disclose some hidden clue that will absolve Casey of any guilt.

In that case we may be witness to a complete "meltdown" at trial time when the facts and truth are paraded in front of them.

I just thought of a wonderful question that an interviewer should ask Cindy and George, "When Caylee's murderer is found, what do you think the penalty should be?"

Excellent suggestion / question... Can you get to NY by tomorrow a.m.?

The question I wish they had asked when the A's were talking about KC protecting the family. At the very beginning KC talked about Caylee being taken from her by 'Zanny' and said that she thought she was safe. She said 'Zanny' was doing this to teach her a lesson. So how do we get from this to the fact that the family was in danger???? Oh yeah, and what lesson was KC supposed to learn?

hey ws...my keyboard is not working correctly and so if my typing is weird, i am sorry.

i really try to stay out of all this...posting i mean...as i am thinking something i am reading it posted by someone here. So, what i am going to post as what's bothering me is just stuff you all have already brought up here and i would love for someone to lay it out so it makes sense. As WSer's are apt to do...:)

beside having the exact question as the one i have quoted above...

Casey knew Zanny would be back with Caylee in 50 days, if i remember.
And i thought all of the 'had to keep quiet' stuff while Casey was in jail had to do with the fact that Caylee hadn't been found yet and maybe saying something would put her in danger. Were they not saying they were not even worried about their own safety, that if that was all it meant...but it was worse than that-i feel like they were saying that Caylee was in danger. So, this being the first interview since Caylee was found, i guess i thought...

well, i hope i made any sense because none of this makes sense to me. and, if anyone besides Caylee is innocent it is those of us stuck to these cases. We were minding our own business. i didn't go out of my way to know about Casey and her family. This information appears in your life and if you are a feeling person you say, 'what'! and if you are a curious person you feel you must understand how this can happen. Then there are those who are here to really, really try to help the actual children...and that is a calling bless them.

So, when the Anthony's say that we don't care about them, or assume that we 'out there' have not also had tragedy or when they or their lawyers say or use the idea that the 'media' and 'people' are or have in any way been responsible for the death of their Granddaughter! i think of the officer telling george on july15th2008-how to avoid a circus. i don't think they took the advice. Did i understand right. in this interview their lawyer said 'all the media has caused trouble to get a fair trial' paraphrased...

i feel more amazed that the 'adult' world is like this. i just can't ever stop being surprised...sorry to rant. i enjoy this site so much and on so many levels. thank you for letting me hang out and speak my mind and have a place to go where other people are as upset about people hurting other people in these crimes. i need to know there are other 'good' human beings. i hope you understand what i mean. :)

Cindy will now need to prepare an answer for the SA as to why she would want to commit suicide BEFORE she knew Caylee was dead..............at least GA did his fake attempt after they found the baby.

Well said Leila. How ARE they able to stay home and NOT work?

Observations:
1. No gum chewing.
2. A softer gentler version of their lies.
3. They took their meds.

Yep! I conclude they read Websleuths and it has improved their behavior. They just may be so proud of themselves that they will most likely slip up tomorrow.

I bet she made that up in the middle of the interview - I can't imagine Cindy evenr hurting herself and I can't imagine KC ever praying.
