Was anything mentioned about the suicide plot? Like, where this came from?

I am SO with you on this! I was like HUH?! her?!

I'm not trying to be overly critical of physical appearance, but it's already an uphill battle for the defense against the state's evidence, so it would seem someone more professional looking could be more effective in connecting with the jury. Not that it would necessarily work in getting an acquittal, but at least they wouldn't be noticing the same things we are. MOO

There was a caption on the bottom of the TV screen that said it was a National Enquirer source. Nancy only talked briefly about it with Leonard when he said it would never happen.

What ever she may look like, she is 19 for 19 when it comes to keeping her clients off of death row. You might change your mind when you hear her speak, she is quite interesting and one quickly forgets the appearance.

In contrast, JB looks great and can't speak with a whit. So far, he is a big disapointment.

This is my greatest fear. It appears the new DP attorney believes deeply in what she does. Her appearance may be an asset in convincing a jury not to recommend KC be injected with her own venom.

Do these lawyers really believe in KC innocence or trying to showboat for the cameras..I just wonder if this case was not the media circus that it has become would KC have this so called dream team of lawyers.. AS the saying goes don't judge a book by its cover she may look like a hippie but this woman has serious credentials...

If true, my reaction to the idea of KC threatening suicide is twofold:

1) She's already thinking ahead to a possible greater fear - general pop.

then I think,

2) Whatever. It'd be the first time she saved other people's money.

I don't much care for the DP anyway and I don't think this is the kind of case that would even GET a DP conviction.

I thought she was 19 for 30?

Must go back and recheck my homework.

As I understand it, she is 19 for 19 when the case gets to the penalty phase. That is, none of the people she has defended who were convicted, ever got the dp.

Perhaps the 19/30 represents the number she got off scott free? Or perhaps another way to put it, of the 30 dp case she defended, none ever got the dp... She has never "lost" a defendant. Some she got off, some were convicted, none ever got the dp.

I agree. I noticed this same thing while watching the complete video of her interview with LE after the murder arrest, and every appearance in court. She simply cannot sit still for 5 seconds!!

I actually tried once to count and see how high I could get before she started fidgeting again. This was during the video of Casey after she was arrested for murder one - the video after the car chase. Anyhow, I think the highest I ever got to was 11 seconds. Most of the time it was closer to 5 -6 seconds between bouts of fidgeting. I couldn't believe it!

I think after reading everything on Lyon's site and links (read her publications and awards and the sites she subscribes to) that she will be THE asset to Casey's case. She is a very upstanding lawyer and I believe after reading what is available about her that she is committed to upholding the constitutional rights of a defendant. This will help Casey's case.

I would stop short of calling her "noble" but it is a bulls eye for the defense.

If KC could only dump JB now she'd have more of a chance. With AL on the case now it will be a much more intelligently fought trial, which I will enjoy following.

(by the way, before anyone thinks I am a proponent of acquittal, let me say that I believe like nearly everyone on the planet that KC killed Caylee and should be punished to the full extent of the law...I'm just putting my two cents worth in regarding the choice of the excellent lawyer AL)

Very interested in the line of the defense story.
