2009.08.05 State Deposition of George Anthony

I enjoyed everyones posts about GA's deposition. Personally, I have a huge headache from it right now.

Not that the subject matter is in any way a joke….but I'd suggest that if they had asked George how much lose change he found in seats of the cars on his father used car lot back in the day - he’d be able to tell the SA, "as a matter of fact", it was $9.32, 29 quarters, 17 dimes, 6 nickels, and 7 pennies.

Anything relevant to Casey's involvement in Caylee's murder and you'll get I dont know, or I'm roughly guessing here.

Actually,Woe be gone,I'll admit I found myself chuckling also when George kept saying "I did not put that tape on the gas can. I would not have done it so sloppily." I do believe he didn't put the tape on the can,but he said it 5,000 times! I don't know why I found it funny after awhile,but I did. I was probably getting tired.:innocent:

Actually (ohmy, Cindy uses this word a lot- been reading too many depo's!) Cindy states in her depo that George did, in fact, put duct tape on the gas can after it was returned from LE MINUS duct tape. :dance:

I learned a new term - had never heard "excited utterance" before. Had to Google it for a definition and I agree ... "a statement made under stress is likely to be trustworthy and unlikely to be premeditated falsehoods."

The quiver in her voice on that third call, to me, was total fear and panic.

In the clip from 48 Hours Mystery, Cindy's voice is quivering as she holds her hand over her lips, eyes wide, but not a smidge of tears. Cindy is a brilliant actress. IMHO, CA knew that Caylee was dead, way before those 3 911 calls. :furious:

Texas Mist, I had posted a response to you about the picture of Caylee in the pink Big Trouble tee shirt on the LA thread (LA had identified that picture as Caylee in his deposition)

I found where GA is presented the picture during his depo.

The exhibit is number 9 and it is discussed on page 182.

When GA is shown the picture he says Line 8 "Yeah that's a picture of Caylee"

Even though he denies that this is the same pink shirt that he saw Caylee in the last day she was seen by him, he testifies that it was another pink shirt, he does identify the child in the shirt that has lettering matching that found at the crime scene as Caylee.

Score one for the SA, that was so subtle I almost missed it

After reading this depo, I've gotten a clear picture as to why the SA wanted the transcript of GA's GJ testimony. Everything GA said in this depo was different than what we've heard in prior LE interviews and I bet it's also different than what he testified at the GJ hearing. This current depo gave the SA a good idea how GA will testify and they need the GJ transcript to impeach him.

I loved the part of the depo when GA kept saying he would not have put duct tape on the gas can unless he bought gas and those gas cans sat empty after he got them back from KC. But later on GA says he took that gas can to the towyard to put gas in KC's car. The SA said something like, well you had to have put gas in it didn't you? lol.

I didn't know that George had 3 sisters. Where are they now? Have they been active in KC's life as her only aunts? I'm just curious if George's family were close with him and his kids or not.

I doubt it, since Cindy said to the FBI agent when asked if any mental illness runs in the family, George thinks his sister is crazy, but she has never been diagnosed. It didn't leave one with the inference there was any close sister in law thing going on. LOL! I adore my sister in law.

Dang GA tells CA about KC not working at Sport Authority and she gets confrontational with him, wanting to know why he is following around their daughter...etc.

Strange.

We are seeing the problems that caused our little Casey to grow up to be without a moral compass and to have no respect for anyone.

So, now George is saying he saw Caylee asleep in Casey's bed on the night of the 15th, but did not see Casey ?

Also, I wonder why the state was asking about their freezer ?

Pg 162 and 163 George is really stumbling over the tape on the gas can issue. He says he didn't put that duct tape on that can but says he had put duct tape on the can in the past. He says the can had duct tape on it when Casey took it but didn't have duct tape on it when she returned it...(???) When asked how the duct tape got on the can George says "Your guess is as good as mine."

Oh what complete and utter BS! JMO of course...

This is as absurd as OJ claiming that is not him in those shoes and the photos must have been altered. George and Cindy just put more nails in their daughter's coffin. Obvious lies like this are going to make the jury despise this family!

Wow, just wow. It seems the family walked on eggshells with casey's emotions.

It almost seems as though george is scared of setting her off on a rage if she's confronted with the truth.

Very compelling deposition imo.

OK, I am answering my own question...about the freezer. When Casey had Tony pick her up at Amscot she had "groceries" from her parent's freezer, maybe this is what they are referring to.

the deep freezer comes up a lot in cindys' and georges' depo. Did LE remove any of the food inside the freezer to check for bodily fluids?

I notice how cindy and george both discuss how very small the freezer is. Wonder why they give such detail? Cindy also talks about putting all the trunk and car items on top of the freezer in rather big detail. They were never asked where they placed the items after removing them from the car.
Also, george talks about the garage being disturbed when they arrived back from L.A. (larry king) saying there were towels by the washer and dryer, that they would have never left there.

Something is raising my hinkey meter with it.

They also caught george in a lie regarding when his kids were small. He said he used to pick casey up every day after school, or at least wait at the end of the road. They later learned that George would have been working during that time. ~L~

To the best of my knowledge or recollection, this is the first time that entities involved in either the criminal or civil cases have documented George's statements in regards to his own use on the Anthony pc. As well, to the best of my knowledge, this is also the first time he has gone on record about his Google searches and his perception of Cindy's surfing behavior.

• George notes that he is "... not a real Google-type of guy" (page 301 - line 16)

• further denies ever being the person to search for either 'neck-breaking' or 'dogs throwing up'
• he further asserts that he never searched 'missing children sites' (which we already know are likely attibuted to searches done on July 15/16th thanks to JWG, JBJ, Valhall's, and other WS sleuthers research)
• George states, "... up until all 'this stuff' Cindy was never really a computer person." (... one can only surmise the 'This Stuff' = CAYLEE'S 'disappearance.')

I just have to pause here and acknowledge that the SA managed to get all of this on the record in a graceful manner.

When JB and his team atempt to cast aspersions elsewhere and deflect, the adept team has already got relevant testimony on record.

I struggle often in juggling my respect for the law and my desire to believe in the process of law over my own emotionalism when it comes to this case.

I have to conclude that I shouldn't struggle so strenuously, because there are incredibly intelligent people at the helm.

won't george be embarrassed when during casey's trial they bring up the sites he goes to when noone's looking ~grins~
