WFTV-Channel 9's Kathi Belich also highlighted Anthony's emotional reaction when took the stand. "When George got off the witness stand this morning, he looked at his daughter, Casey, as he walked past, with his hands folded and mouthed the words, 'I love you' to her."

Belich later said that Casey Anthony's body "actually shook" when George was called to testify. "She did not look at her parents when she walked into court," Belich said. "She shook hands with defense attorney Todd Macaluso instead."

At 12:30, WFTV showed Cindy Anthony talking to reporters about her daughter, Casey. "It was awesome to see my daughter today," Anthony said. "It gives me a lot of peace to see that she actually looks OK, she looks healthy. That's important to me."

IMO - it is not unusual for a judge to take matters under advisement - the judge I work for rarely rules from the bench on extrodinary matters - that is, something out of the common everyday. As JS said, some of this stuff is uncharted, simply by virtue of LP and crew coming in to bail out KC, who exactly they were working for, what services they were supposed to provide, etc. All of that has bearing on what law applies here. I think in a case such as KC's the judge is playing it safe by checking his notes, referring to the briefs and case law, and doing his research before making a written decision.
Smart.

Well said. Thank you.

Now I get it-if the state will drop the DP, the check case can go forward....ahhhh

 good one B9 how did we not think of that sooner  LOL

Just got back and I'm still reading thru the thread, I haven't read any news articles yet so it's SUSPENSE READING to see what happens....

How, supposedly, did AL get possession of Caylee's body? And, the laundry bag and plastic bags from the house that the body was wrapped in?

Just had a thought: wonder if Casey placed the garbage from TL's apartment in the trunk of her pontiac to implicate him. Probably not but.....

The only thing in my mind is that, with all the decomp....fluids, etc...it might be a bit tough to move it and all....bag breaking or something.

I agree it would. Not to be sick, but what if the body that was inside the bags was placed in a cooler or container for a while and left at another location (what is DC or someone else moved it to the abandoned house? Just a theory.) and when the area did flood they just dumped it back into the area?
Then all the soil and such would of stayed maintained in place and when dumped it would of only had the evidence from where the body was disposed of in the first place. If this was the case that means someone knew where the body was and they knew they needed time for the body to fully decompose before it was found so that there would be no way to connect the murder to Casey. Just thinking out loud....it seems like that is the route they are taking and sticking to the "So Called Nanny" did it defense.

KC isn't the only person to use a bodyguard while out on bail. Madoff had bodyguards. Lots of defendants have bodyguards.

Are bodyguards/security services USUALLY covered by attorney/client privilege?

Help requested from legal experts...

The stupid jury that the defense wants isn't supposed to ask questions like that!! :waitasec: MOO

Interesting that the state asks George if he ever knew of Tracy and Casey to have been behind closed doors...hmmm...if they were, in fact, behind closed doors at times, then right there the "agreement" that was made and insisted upon by Mr. Baez seemed to have not been adhered to even by the family, as a family member was specifically to be present when any one of the Padilla co. was with Casey. So if the family was not concerned about it...and the defense has allowed LP to broadcast statements all over national tv for all of this time...then the "agreement" seems to have been a mute point right from the beginning...to me.

2:36 into the video do you wipe your tears like this?

Do any of us do anything like she does? ITA that there were no tears steaming down her face, she doesn't cry like "normal" people, she isn't normal! Her eyes themselves are watery and glassy, IMO The wiping several of you refer to is her trying to stop the tears before they exit her eyes. Trying to stop herself from crying.

But that's just me.

You are correct. Those services normally are not covered under attorney client privilege. I believe what the SA was trying to establish today was that LP and crew came for the sole purpose of bailing KC out of jail - they first met with GA WITHOUT JB being present. The deal was struck. Had nothing to do with security. That is what JB is trying to add on after the fact, so he can now claim that they were an extension of his legal services to KC, thus under the privilege law.

I think casey looks very depressed and weary. I think being in jail has taken its toll on her. the defense is arguing that the body was placed there while casey was in jail.

She looks sorry for herself.

They use the word "innocent" and I get sick.

Wait until the trail!

Meanwhile, stock up on trash (barf) bags. Get two large wastebaskets-- one for the computer, and one for TV.

I missed parts of the hearing. Any idea when the judge will rule on this?

I agree she seems very somber, as if she is finally accepting mommy and daddy can't fix this. She didn't even give her usual smile to JoseB when she came into the courtroom.

Gee for modesty purposes, which we know KC doesn't have, it dawned on me that Tracy or CA would have to personally be in the same room with KC when she changed clothes in a room which had a window or possibly she was required to have another person with her at all times to prevent "harm" to her. Either by CA or herself -- take your pick. Does this make sense?

I agree with the poster that said KC looks weary and it's starting to take it's toll. She looks exhausted and jaded. Bags under her eyes... greasy looking from not having her bath products anymore.

Why do her eyes jolt and twitch around like that? Is that a condition or...? What can we attribute that to?

I don't see any abnormal eye movement. No nystagmus.

She's looking at different people.

Whatever ~ she looked horrible today, imo. I'm thinking more like reality is beginning to set in that this isn't the beautiful life she envisioned in mid-June 2008. MOO
