If LP was hired, did they say how much JB PAID him?

Kimster,

i don't know if this got answered for you. I thought I'd answer in case not. No, they did not get paid by Baez or anyone. LP said he even offered Baez to pay pay them a dollar each to protect himself. Baez said NO, because he was NOT hiring them!
So, Baez shot himself in the foot with that one!

And oh Boy they just said KC's defense attorney will be on the "best Defense" on trutv in a little bit.

I believe Stickland said while channel surfing he saw LP on Nancy Grace, etc. and that JB didn't do anything about it then. He did say he saw some of it on tv though.

HTH's!

Thank you! That makes sense. Internet surfing didn't make sense, but what I thought I heard. (Judge dosent' seem to be to knowledgeable about the internet, computer, etc)

I was wondering about that. As soon as he said that I thought to myself that if they do have that evidence aren't they supposed to hand it over to the SA? Is that not withholding important discovery? Was it not speculated awhile back that Baez was withholding discovery from the SA and he stated that it was not true?

ITA....and IIRC...this isn't the first time the defense has used these "motion hearings" to declare her innocence....I believe JB did it in one of the other hearings and was reprimanded about it not being the forum for statements like that.

By the way she acted when GA was on the stand, is most likely why she refuses to look at them.

She tried to avoid it, but she did see them when she was shaking folks hands. As she walked out of the room, she was really starting to crack. You can see it in her face. I believe that was from seeing her parents.
But ya know, I got the sense that she knew they were straining to see her...but I don't think she cares...truly.

Am I the only one who was alittle disappointed in Judge Strickland today?

I know...just wondering then how he could be "working" for him...if he wasn't getting paid. LOL

Nope...me, too. If there were too many motions to hear than he should have scheduled it differently.

I have to say that I was. I usually really like him because he seems no nonsense.....but there was a lot of nonsense flying in there today and he let it go on.

Plus he never seems to make a decision in court. It is always later.

I assume that he is giving the defense the benefit of the doubt in most of these motions, etc so there is less chance of a problem later but on some things the law seems to be quite clear and he still leans toward cutting the defense slack.

I tuned in a couple minutes into the live stream and when the camera went to KC I was stunned by the weight loss and the tortured look. She looks the worst we've ever seen her look. I agree with everyone that there is something major eating at her. The tears (during George's testimony) could be the teensiest bit of feeling of guilt over the fact that the defense is going to blame her parents if they can...and she feels something over that.[/QUOTE]

Perhaps her newest attorney AL is telling her exactly how this is going to be. You either get life in prison or the death penalty. Let us try to save your life. No sugar coating like Baez was doing. Casey is in a dreamworld , AL might be the reality check she needed.

...and huffing and puffing, too. Wondering how the State's questions were relevant? He knew he was going to get snagged.

Hi WSers!!!

A HUGE thanks to all of you that posted in this thread! I missed all of the court room proceedings this morning....darn it. Thanks for the recap, etc.

RR0004, I googled the word "incumbency" in⋅🤬🤬🤬⋅ben⋅cy  [in-kuhm-buhn-see] Show IPA
–noun, plural -cies for 2–5.
1. the quality or state of being incumbent.
2. the position or term of an incumbent.
3. something that is incumbent.
4. a duty or obligation: my incumbencies as head of the organization.
5. Archaic. an incumbent weight or mass.

I'm sure JB had to google this word before he used it too! LOL

Now I have to watch all the videos to get caught up!

Thanks again to everyone! (((HUGS)))

Can't wait to see him at trial!! He hasn't learned a darn thing from the depo fiasco!!:bang:

Can I ask what George was testifying about? I missed that part, too. :(

The role of PD & crew. He states they were security to protect them against the protesters and that threats where made against them. He sorta admited it was to protect LP investment of $50,000 bond (Casey)

Stated he met with LP before Casey was released, and without JB there.

Over all, he didn't prove what JB was claiming. He seemed to prove the opposite.

I have a feeling they might be basing this on JW.She claimed she and her hubby were team leaders [I think ] and that they searched that area and took pictures. Problem with her is,they were friendly with the A's ,supporting Caylee is alive ,and she was Baker Acted multiple times prior.I believe she has a criminal record ,also. Not exactly a prime witness IMO.
I also think they were padding their statements a bit to make the TES records look crucial to defending KC.

Interesting. Maybe they were the ones who planted the remains there to make it cast doubt. (I don't really believe this at all. No one but Casey did it, and the discovery/evidence supports that.) But JW and crew need to be careful that what they assert doesn't come right back on them.

Really...lots of luck with JW being a credible witness.

I do recall JW claiming she had proof (photo's if I am not mistaken) that the body was not there and her claims of that area being searched. I have always questions what the big roll the white markers/pavers would play in the case. I wonder if the defense turned over the photos and statements from JW? I know she will not be a great witness for them due to her mental state and history. But if she does in deed have pictures of that exact area and if the body was not there then I see this as a problem if they can produce these authentic photos with the pavers/markers, shrubs, trees and other in the photos. I don't care much about her statements...but the photos I would like to see if they carry any merit. Here is another thing that I think may come up. The botanist has stated that the body was there, what if the body was and then moved and put back? Is that possible? Not that I believe that is the case, but if it is possible I see the defense running with that theory as well and creating more reasonable doubt.

Too funny...when he said it even he didn't seem too sure and rephrased.

Hope you're back for awhile!
