2009.11.12 Mallory's deposition

The World According ~ Was Mallory interviewed in November 2008 or deposed?

Last night I was trying to remember when it popped into my mind that I may recall having read a brief interview. I'm not certain though.

Someone, an interview is different than a depo, right? I'm asking because I may be confused.

ADDING: I agree the song has a very nice message to sing to your living son or daughter. That was for KC imo.

Complete with a list of people who were banned by Cindy, because only she must control who grieves and when.

I wonder if there's ever been a memorial with a blacklist before??

Yes, didn't she univite Tim? Lemme get this straight-Tim can't come, but KC, the one who murdered CA' s graddaughter (and she knew it well by then) was on the VIP list (via internets).
Small rant about CA, and I will slyly connect it back to Mallory...She is the queen of making absurd phone calls and absurd outbursts when she is mad at someone-Nasty call to Tim, nasty call to Yuri right before the bond hearing, stupid outburst to Holly about not doing interviews....list goes on.
If I were Mallory (read: if I did not have a spine or moral fortitude), I would keep my mouth suht, too...lest I get a nasty call or outburst uninviting me, disavowing me, disconnecting me and unfriending me.
If CA had a Facebook page, she would have to have it connected to her mobile so she could update frequently-the friend's list would look like a massacre on a daily basis.

Allow me, if I may, to disabuse you of that notion.

It was a Cindypalloozafest, not-so-cleverly disguised as a Memorial to Caylee.

Seemed more like a Caseypalloozafest as much as it was a Cindypalloozafest. These two are cut from the same cloth...this time CA got that right...JMHO

Lee Anthony's Girlfriend Deposed
Casey Anthony Charged With Murder In Daughter's Death

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Prosecutors in the Casey Anthony case on Thursday deposed the girlfriend of Anthony's brother.

VIDEO: Mallory Parker Deposed
IMAGES: Casey Anthony Case | II | III

Mallory Parker, the girlfriend of Lee Anthony, was deposed, but it's not known what questions she was specifically asked.

"Today's deposition was conducted by the State Attorney's Office. I was just here as Casey Anthony's representative," attorney Jose Baez said.

Casey Anthony, 23, remains jailed on first-degree murder charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee, whose remains were found in December. Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July 2008. Casey Anthony has pleaded not guilty.

Parker, 25, has been dating Lee Anthony since before Caylee's disappearance, and she has been at the Anthony family home during several events that occurred there.

Lee Anthony said he intentionally kept Parker away from the family's home during the first few hectic days after Caylee was reported missing, but Parker was the first person to arrive at the Anthony's home the morning Caylee's body was found. Parker was taking care of the family's dog while grandparents George and Cindy Anthony were in California for a "Larry King" taping. She was barred from entering the home because it had become a potential crime scene.

Local 6 reporter Mike DeForest said it is likely the defense asked her about that, as well as her communications with Casey Anthony during the weeks after Caylee was last seen alive. Although Casey Anthony had told her family she was on a business trip, we now know she was partying in Orlando-area bars and clubs.

Detectives never formally interviewed Parker."

I agree. And I feel that any person who would stay in a relationship keeping them this close to the Anthonys is either extremely confused, low intelligence, or loves the attention of it all. If she did the least amount of research, she'd know that Lee covered for, lied for and is supporting Casey who they both know is guilty imo. There's just NO excuse for that.

How many people hold a Memorial with bouncers on the door? Only the Anthonys.....:innocent:.

One more.....Anna Nicole Smith's. Both Sad .

Cindy creating a list of those who were to be banned from the memorial service ranks up there in the top 10 things Cindy has done that clearly illustrate what a despicable person Cindy Anthony really is.

I remember that at the time of the memorial service and the weeks leading up to it, members here that were still somewhat sympathetic lost all sympathy for the Anthony grandparents when we learned of Cindy's banned list. That list included people who had every reason to attend the service, but Cindy couldn't put personal differences aside to honor Caylee.

Every memorial service is to honor the deceased person, but Cindy made sure that the service revolved around herself and Caylee's killer. George's plea to everyone to remember Casey and to write to her was extremely distasteful.

Mallory was part of it, sitting front and center with Lee, George, and Cindy. I'm sure Mallory knows, as all the Anthonys know, that Casey killed Caylee, and for her to remain a part of the Anthony family after all they've said and done, is testimony to her character. Anyone who was of good character would have cut and run early on.

Pretty weird that LE did not interview Mallory especially after LE interviewed the reporter who claimed she spoke to the waitress, where Mallory used to work, who claimed Mallory had incriminated Casey. :waitasec:

As you say, why hasn't the prosecution's depo been released?

Mucho thanks for the recap regarding Mallory. :)

You are so right! That song was all about Casey

"Nobody's gonna kill your dreams
Or tell you how to live your life
There'll always be people to make it hard for a while
But you'll change their heads when they see you smile"

George's little plea to remember her and write to her, and worst of all that weird little CMA speech by Lee.

The whole thing was just so awful. I swear by killing Caylee Casey got everything she wanted from her family, she got to remove the competition, she became their No1 cause, the main focus of family attention, and Caylee has been all but forgotten.

As far as narcissistic supply goes, this girl is getting it in bucket loads, and has been since the 911 call. I think real justice for Caylee will be after the trial when everyone loses interest and she is all but forgotten.

This family acts as if they are somehow responsible for KC's actions. That they feel guilty for what happened. That KC is in jail for something they did or did not do???? Their behavior is strange to say the least. jmo

What did you make of Mallory wearing shorts to the court proceeding? I have never, ever in one courtroom seen anyone even be allowed in with shorts on. It was disrespectful, at best.

I have always thought it to be extremely strange that we never saw any transcript or audio of any LE interview with Mallory. Now, upthread it says she was deposed without ever having been interviewed? That just doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't prosecutors want to find out through an interview whether a person does or does not have any information pertinent to the crime before going to the time and expense of a deposition?

Question for someone who knows a lot more than I do about these things:
Is there any possibility that Mallory refused to be interviewed by LE? A person can refuse to cooperate with police during an investigation, right? It seems we hear this all the time when it comes to the cases where a wife has disappeared and the husband is refusing to cooperate with police.

But you do get subpoenaed for a deposition, right? So you are legally required to come in for a deposition regarding a case?

What can happen to somone who refuses to be deposed - like that Laura Buchanan lady who may have forged the TES documents. She's been rescheduling her deposition and then the last time claimed illness to avoid it.
Can she eventually be charged with contempt of court or something like that?

I've been hoping all along that Mallory had revealed some sort of "bombshell" info to LE and they were deliberately holding it back. I think she is the only person in the whole cast of characters who was not interviewed - if in fact, she was not. Very strange. IMO

Yes to all of your questions. I have talked to Kathi Belich and asked her to please request this depo. She told me the media may not, the defense has to first request a transcript. This indicates to me (my inference only) that they purposely have not. The defense would be fully aware of what she said in her deposition since they were present, if it was a normal deposition, as they have been present for all others , save for Dominic Casey's. His was different as he was not on either side's witness list and that afforded the state the opportunity to do an State's investigative interview where the defense did not have the right to be present. This was the hearing where Baez was seemingly, imo, confused about that and after whispering with Andrea he said he would add Dom to his witness list, then did not. Odd.

I recall AZ lawyer opined (IIRC) that the media could indeed request this depo transcript, so I asked Kathi to double check and she agreed to. I will let you know as soon as I hear back from her. I asked her to ask for both Mallory and Dominic's. (If he is on someone's witness list, if not we will never get that one, if I am understanding the rule correctly.)

Let me find that hearing for us. I want to verify my memory. If Mallory is not on either side's witness list that would explain it, too.

There has also been discovery that the SAO handed over to the Defense in the past 2 months that has not been released.
Wonder why the media hasn't asked for those?

In the North no one would think of wearing shorts to court but this is FL. You can enter a grocery store barefoot. I think shorts are such a way of life that it's normal dressing.

  • #178
Did you see the cruise pics? I thought she may have been pregnant then, not sure. Of course, we all know the Anthonys have a habit of denying pregnancy.

No, I believe Mal was standing near CA, in CA's bikini/tat shot - but I paid no attention to who was who, in the A's entourage, while I gawked at CA - weight loss or not, IMO CA needed more fabric while out and about on that cruise.

I have seen 7 mo pregnant ICA at Uncle Rick's wedding; I had the feeling ICA dressed herself very carefully, in such a way to allow anyone who was not completely blind to see she was obviously very pregnant - so she could sit back and listen to CA make a fool of herself...

  • #179
Bumpity bump. There was a phone in Mallory's name for ICA according to the thread on the new docs.

  • #180
Bringing my thought about that cellphone over here. I wonder if that cellphone is what Mallory was going to get the day she showed up at the A house right before LE showed up and searched it? Remember how we speculated on this? I bet she was there to get that cellphone she knew she was letting Casey use! Too bad LE got to it first!
