Sorry if this has been asked, but where the heck is KC's brother?

Don't get me wrong - I really like KB. But today I just thought she was over the top and a bit frenzied - especdially after JB rebuffed her so many times in the presser. And was it or was it not KB that let loose the 'F bomb' in front of the court house?

I DO like the way she doesn't give up, and gets her story, but today was, ummmmm. not. Good question, though.

Today, I find myself running short of time. Therefore, I apologize in advance, as I have just viewed the Hearing and my observations, I'm sure, have already been discussed.

KC's emotional display during Ashton's arguments, IMO, seemed she was "re-living," if you will, her murderous actions against Caylee - however, in no way, did I get the feeling of remorse - just that she was experiencing remorse for having gotten caught.

The wiping of her tears and subsequent viewing of either her fingers or the tissue, spoke volumes ...... why, oh why would one truly in a crippling emotional state give two hoots if their mascara is running? That, to me, is the reason she continued looking at her fingers and the tissue, to make sure "all the black" was not left around her eyes ........ also, all during these *wiping, looking* episodes - she continued to smooth each side of her hair.

Now come on ......... if I were innocent, sitting in KC's chair and listening to all that was said - it would not matter one iota if I had "black tracks" running down my face, snot (pardon me, please) dripping off my chin or hair looking wild after my attempts to just "get it out of the way" during my depth of despair.

This woman, as most of us agree, is a cold, calculated killer - even AL cannot prep her enough to appear any differently, IMO.

BBM---I was just discussing this very thing with my daughter earlier. If I was in KC's place and I knew I did not kill my child there is no way I could have sat through that and just whimpered. They would have had to duct tape me to that chair and put a gag in my mouth! I would be screaming to God Almighty and everyone else listening, that I was innocent and I'd be demanding that someone, anyone find my child's killer!
KC is just so fake and it's so obvious. When a person is truly emotionally distraught it takes more than 30-45 seconds to recover and compose one's self and yes, who gives a flying flip if mascara is running down your cheeks and under your eyes...she shouldn't have worn makeup in the first place.

I have to say I am not annoyed with the AL show at all. When I listened the second time, I caught glimpses of what we will see at the penalty phase. AL is there for ONE reason only. She is there to get the DP off the table. She is not there to prove innocence, nor to "find the truth". She is very adept at being passive aggressive. She first states an understanding of the courts position and her respect for that position, but then comes back later with the suggestion that could do it her way "if they were so inclined". She states that she has not read all of the case law cited by counsel for the jail, but picks apart and dismisses cases cited that she deems to have no relation to the motion at hand (FYI, you can cite case law to support nothing more than your choice of wording). She argues that her client can't receive emotional support from family and friends, yet fails to mention that any special treatment bestowed upon KC would create a larger issue relating to other inmates. She used the term "kill my client" yet never referred to Caylee as "killed". She appears IMO frumpy and simple, yet gets her digs in there. IMO her holding KC's arm was not as an effort to support her as much as it was an effort to control her. KC's FIRST instinct and noted behavior was to ask JB to "make it stop". When forced to listen to Mr. Ashton, her first behavior was to bristle, sit up in her chair, and grit her teeth. MY opinion is that KC was so agitated because the scenario that was being presented was not "exactly" how it happned and she didn't like hearing a version she knew not to be true. The question would then be....how would she "know"?

Now THAT is a great point. I could see Casey being very frustrated and wanting to tell how it really happened, because, as we all know - it would somehow be totally understandable and innocent and not her fault and she would twist things to make herself look like a hero. I bet that was why she was so riled up. Just looking at that 'insta-rage' was chilling tho!

BBM---I was waiting for her to jump to her feet and scream "You're wrong! She was already dead when I put the tape on her mouth, stupid; she was leaking all over my trunk!"

Yeah it was all fake, JB probably whispered in her ear get ready to go into that unhappy place in your mind we talked about and then she started thinking about a world where she wasn't the prettiest, sexiest, best mom and smartest girl. Makes her cry everytime.

At the end of AL's speech, she talks about the Indiana circuit court not giving careful thought to the DP "weighting" process, because coincidentally, other factors caused the defendent to escape the DP. The hidden implication is that she feels it is possible for the courts to craft what is and isn't acceptible in their processes, if given the chance-but she is concerned that what stands in the way here is Florida's pesky, quirky laws.

IMO, she is asking JudgeS to legislate from the bench (wink wink, your honor, can you change things so that we can circumvent statutorial mandates), and I have to say that is utterly predictable and fortunately JS saw it a mile away-his comment to her earlier about re-inventing the wheel and not applying law beyond the existing statutes was a way of telling her where he stands on this.
I expected this at sentencing from her, not now...This is what makes me feel even more strongly that she is going to suggest a plea to KC-She had to get her message out there today, because she may not get the chance later if the jury finds her to be desperate.

I haven't seen any of the videos but I've read this whole thread(s) and I really appreciate what everyone has posted to tell us what happened. When you're working and don't have access to a tv and your internet at work on break won't load videos, this is your only salvation. THANK YOU EVERYONE! You've made me laugh and cry during the day along with you.

Hmmm.... Has he EVER attended a hearing in this case????

OT, last time I promise.

One of the things TL talked about in his depo, I believe the taping was cut off right after, is the conversation he had with Casey on June 15th or 16th. She tries to convince him that she had told him about the dead squirells in her car causing the smell. TL told her that she didn't tell him that and Casey got mad that he was questioning her on her "story".

I think the conversation between Casey and Tony about the squirrels was late on July 15th or early morning of July 16th and not on June 15th or 16th.

I was a little confused with the "taping was cut off right after". When I first read what you wrote about the "duct tape", I first thought this was part of the conversation between Casey and Tony. But now I thinking this maybe just your thoughts of when the duct tape was off. Am I reading that part correctly?

I can't remember one he has attended, besides the bond hearing way back in the beginning. His absence speaks volumes !

That's kind of where my thinking has been too. It has been speculated that KC is a sociopath (and stated such by CA) and I am in the middle of reading "The Sociopath Next Door" which does seem to lend credence to the possibility that KC is based on her previous actions, statements, etc

The book is helping me understand the "whys" of this case more, and I finally get the whole "lack of any emotions" thing, so now want to go back and reread chapter to see again the reasoning when sociopaths choose to "create emotions"....

I meant the taping of the interview. It did seem like LE didn't want to go too deep into this line of questioning with him, but that's just my take on it. I meant to write July 16th instead of June 16th. I posted the part of the interview with Tony, where the smell in the car was discussed. Heres the link...

His body language revealed his thoughts- rocking back and forth in his chair, tapping his fingertips together, while she droned ON and ON- I thought she was supposed to be a hot-shot orator? Didn't see that today.....!

BBM

I thought the exact same thing, as to her display of ANGER!! Anger, at the facts being embellished, and not how it really happened.
