When Judge Strickland gets a letter like this, does he actually read it or just file it away? If he read it, could the defense or the prosecution come back and say they received an unfair trial because the Judge was possibly prejudiced or biased because of what was in the letter?

IMO the Judge did all he needed to do by notifying both sides. It is for both sides to review and determine if anything warrants investigation or should be presented.

It weaves an interesting tale but tries too hard to present an overall case that KC did not do it, rather than just present some facts that may or may not help KC.

The author tries too hard and stretches too many things. It was a bad tact to start off on forensics and the death band since JS will leave that to the experts.

I see this as an interesting distraction that weaves some characters in that may fit KC's lies but how come only one 'researcher' came up with them -- even KC could not help locate them and -- will it stand the scrutiny of a few checks.

I personally see this as another disctraction that seems plausible but will not stand scrutiny but that was never the point --- the point was to poison the Jury pool and create some reasonable doubt.

I don't even think I can get excited even a little bit about this letter except to sigh and say - oh geez. What scientist or biologist writes a statement of fact in this messy, sloppy, scrambled thinking format? The ones we have at WS write in clear, concise, almost clinical style, not the ramblings of a wanna be. Just more smoke coming from the direction of the defense I'd guess.

The sad thing is.........Judge Strickland CAN NOT take action based upon the letter. He is to, by definition remain impartial. Both sides must be notified and the action is theirs after that. The fact that they even asked that the Judge insert himself into the "investigation" portion of the case is the clearest demonstration of their ignorance. And....they cc'd G & C ????? did they think that they wouldn't get a copy......BTW....you cc at the BOTTOM not the top.

Do you really believe that with all that garbage....that they would be honest about their profession? Sounds like they found the info on the internet.... I mean they included a web link not an actual proper citation of an article or study........an internet link.

Two things that stick out as positively false within this letter are the author states that:

1) the duct tape was the most common type. Iirc the duck tape has a label that identifies it as an uncommon one for household use (used more to wrap pipes that get hot or for auto mechanic work).

2) That there isn't any computer/phone evidence. Why then delete a bunch of stuff, blue screen your laptop, the day you are arrested. Too much deleting going on for my taste at a time KC thinks she may be in trouble.

ETA: isn't this what we've done for months JB? We've discussed everything that's in this letter. It still won't matter IMO. There will always be someone who comes along with the hope to wiggle their way in.

LOL! Too funny! I had a similar thought about the letter. Not that it had come from that same family, or person, but that they'd seen how everyone reacts to information relayed in that way. LOL. At least this was readable. :twocents:

Thank you so much for solving this case and exonerating KC. You have saved the State of Florida millions of dollars in useless litigation fees. Amazingly enough ,thousands of crime forum posters, LE, and private investigators were unable to unearth the "facts" that you provided. You have provided a monumental service to the accused.
