Yes I seen that and it infuriated me!!

Then when the hearing was all over, it was like KC was all happy with herself...maybe thinking to herself, "got out of that one, hope the murder trial is as easy. One down, one to go." It's like she has no clue.

Important parts of the hearing (to me):
1) Al got GA to wear long pants
2)JS telling JB not to go there and JB going there and JS pointing out that he went there anyway
3)KC now has a felony conviction on her record

Non important part of the hearing
*in light of Caylee missing during the time that KC wrote these checks and what she bought with these checks, her apology and especially the sentence "I wish I would have been a better friend" sort of sounded like useless stereotypical muck....to me

Respectfully Quoted Just Jayla :)

ITA. You said that well. I have to say, after he made that argument I was left seeing what he was saying was true(?) I mean, I did think that most first time bad check writing would not get five years? But, they did say that if that was all there was against her she would have gone home after today-probation(do I have that correct). Still, why was she given more than what others would typically have?

...jmo...

Do you think that if Amy had not pressed charges (like grandma, mom, Lee and others have not) that the check forging would become part of the murder case? It's all tied together it seems. Will KC's stealing from AH be brought into the murder trial? Does the plea deal have an affect on if it could enter into the murder trial or not?

Before today's hearing Beth Karras, from IN Session, said the presumption was that KC would plead guilty to the check fraud charges. One reason it was presumed was because the defense had not taken any depositions or turned over any discovery in the check case. In other words, they had not done anything to prepare a defense ,so they couldn't be ready for a trial to to start today.
Today the SA complained that the defense was not taking depositions and moving forward to prepare for the murder trial. It has me wondering if the defense is working toward a plea, but is hoping something new will come up that they can grab hold of. They don't want to show their hand too soon, but they also don't want to waste resources they won't be using. Anyone else think this could be a sign KC might plea?
Of course ,they may not be taking their own depositions of the states witnesses because those will eventually be released to the public and they could be even more damaging.
I find it intriguing that the defense has not spoken to the States witnesses.

All other considerations aside, justice was served. Amy got her day in court, and saw justice done. In an almost timely manner. It's a day to celebrate. I hope it helps heal some of the damage done.

Help - wracking my brain here, "COV"?

Change of Venue =move the trial to anywhere that has not heard of this case. Even the moon would be out. They get the news there, too .

BBM (THAT was priceless....)

Another couple of points:

4) JS hinting obviously that maybe JB should talk it over with AL... (snort)

5) JB dropping his shizzle......

I didn't get to watch the hearing, and there were conflicting reports of who said "latent" and in what context--but I posted in the "fingerprints and gloves" thread that there could be one possible loophole in the FBI reports that say "no latent prints." The short version is that there are numerous methods of finding latent prints, and the "no latent prints" reports may mean "nothing found this time around"--i.e., nothing found using black powder. But maybe later they tried another method (like vacuum metal deposition) and did find something?

I watched the hearings the second time AZlawyer. The first time I heard JA say latent prints evidence, but the second time, when I was calmer, I hear him saying "latent evidence". Looks like I wanted to hear the word "prints" but didn't actually.

For the record, the couple sitting next to G&C was Glen and Donna C, who performed at the Caylee memorial.

They were at the last hearing too.

MM. Were you there today? If so, please enlighten us to that which we may not have seen on camera.

TIA

Thanks Muzikman - were you there? If so, can you add anything or flavor we didn't see on the videos?

I did not go today. Wasn't feeling real good, so instead I had a small "Casey is Guilty" party with Mini-tacos, drinks and the laptop plugged into the big screen. :)

Afterwards we had a discussion about the legal aspects and the Daisy Chain.

Looks like they did finally use the big courtroom, would like to hear from someone that did go - how crowded was it? Was there anybody in the balcony? They didn't really show the audience in any shots that I saw.

Did anyone else catch another " Casey tussle" over the microphone? There is whispering going on, I presume Casey to Baez, then the grab by Baez to remove the mic out of her reach, troubled looks by all parties then Lyons places her hand/arm very close to Casey to stop her from doing it again. I can't make out the whispering maybe someone else can.

I heard and saw exactly what you put up as a link...but couldn't come to a conclusion about what caused the mic to make that sound. Did you (or anyone) see another link that actually shows what happened with the microphone? TIA

KC did better for herself than JB did-At least she did not make excuses.

I wanna swing KC around by her ponytail, don't get me wrong, but I do believe KC has always been regretful (or as close as she can get) about what she did to AH. She doesn't regret stealing the money, she regrets messing with someone that could have stayed pleasantly on the perifery, someone who was not invested enough in KC for her to hurt like she did-KC prefers to save her nastiness for those that she has more than a superficial relationship with, not nice passers-by like AH.

She expressed this to her mom in the jail visit, and I noted this was the only time she straight up owned up. Her ire is for Caylee, CA, and GA and LA and JG, RM and even AD-AH was not supposed to be part of the hate and KC wants to clear that out of her concience ASAP.
I respectfully disagree. I think that KC is not remorsefull for what she did to Amy. I think her little speech that she gave today was rehearsed and possibly scripted for her to say by either JB or AL. It was all part of the deal that she took today. She intentionally took the money when she spotted the checkbook in AH's car and saw the balance. She had a "hotdog!! I got me some money to spend and I'm taking my happy a$$ shopping!!" moment and went on a spree never even considering what would happen to AH in the long run. She never thought about how AH would feel having her best friend betray her and clean out her bank account. She never thought that AH would go to the police and turn her in because she didn't think she would ever get caught. The little "I'm sorry" jag was just that... a jag that meant nothing except that she was caught and it was a scripted spiel that she had to say to the judge. Whoopee. JMO

This drove me nuts. JB was trying to explain to the Judge that KC was not being treated fairly because people don't like her because they think she killed her two year old child. JB was pointing out that if it were a person who was not thought to have killed their two year old child within the same week they were stealing their friend's checks, that that person would not be facing such a severe punishment. That's exactly what I heard JB say. Life is not always fair it's true. Ask Caylee.

Now listen up children of the world, it is NOT okay to steal. You cannot steal from your grandma, your friends, a store, a bank, a gas station. You should not even take home office supplies from your workplace without your employer's permission. It is not okay to take things that belong to other people who paid for them whether YOU think they wouldn't mind or not. The law is "do not steal". The law isn't do not steal but, if you do, we'll discuss the value of what you stole to see if it was okay or not. I know there are categories within crimes but it's best to know not to steal - period. Things get too complicated imo.

One of the many sayings I told my boys when they were growing up was... If it is NOT your Don't touch it!!!

It would be nice if there was another angle. I too saw and heard the same thing. At the time, I thought that someone had inadvertantly bumped the mic but then when the camera went back to them, everyone had a concerned look on their faces and then AL moved her hand over like she was ready to put her hand over Casey's. It was all rather odd. Also, Casey was breathing deeply and looked mad as heck! They were talking about reimbursement of the invesitgative costs at the time. It was a large sum so maybe she was mad because they expected her to pay those..guess she wanted to weigh in? Ha!
