I totally agree. Add that to the fact they did eventually find the body wrapped in her pooh blanket. Oops only the killer knew that until KC blabbed to her prison penpal.
The whole car cleaning without Hazmat gear on as a top priority while your daughter and grandaughter are missing, maybe murdered, is very strange IMO. Unless you knew your daughter was alive and capable of murder.

A quote I can't seem to attach to its original author, but, one that comes to mind when I find myself askew to someone like my good friend JWG, with whom I'm typically in agreement. In this case my perspective on the potential stain in the trunk outline is slightly different.

In the interest of full disclosure, this is an area where I have demonstrated less than stellar abilities. The crime scene photos held all kinds of stuff in my view that it turns out... just weren't there. :bang: So...expecting just as much to be off as on - I submit to you what I'm seeing.

On the left below is the unretouched composite image that JWG so kindly pieced together & shared :thumb:. On the right is a copy of the image I have colorized to highlight what appears to me to be the outline. I have tagged some elements of the anatomy that should help you to recognize the overall positioning. Aside from adding the color and labels I have not modified the image in any way.

A description of what I'm seeing is the body in a crouching/fetal position with the points of greatest pressure (hip, shoulder, elbow & abdomen) demonstrating the most intense white (in the original). With the body laying essentially on one side with the upper torso slightly twisted such that the chest and abdomen are lying on the carpet. The torso is lying on top of what would be the left arm (mirror image) with the elbow located just behind the small of the back and the forearm passing across the abdomen and the hand(s) indistinguishable, but, positioned in what would be the lap area. The knee would be positioned over the hole in the wheel cover and the foot positioned somewhat in an on-the-toes fashion.

In this scenario the head would be resting on the section of carpet closest to the fender (not in this image as it is only of the wheel cover). IOW...the top of the image is where the shoulders would be located.

I have to say that this outlining and descriptive by BJB is, sadly, awesome. If there was any doubt before, IMO, this lays it to rest. It is so clear looking at the image that Caylee was in the trunk of KC's car. I hope the SA has something as moving as this to show the jury. It has made my heart feel so heavy. I'm so sorry, baby Caylee!

Agreed. The stain in the trunk never made sense to me until BJB's post (you rock mang). The measurements and theories from others left me extremely confused. BJB's post (which I had never seen until AZ bumped it) hits me hard and really puts things in perspective.

It's easy to compartmentalize my feelings and analyze pictures of a stain/crime scene photos. But when the reality of what was done to this innocent child...that Caylee's lifeless body was rotting in a trunk with duct tape wrapped around her face..all while her despicable excuse for a mother partied and enjoyed herself.
It really makes me want to vomit.

Since the decomp odor is unmissable and the humid climate here amplifies it -- where was the car parked whilst the baby lay in there?
Did no one pass by and smell what must have been awful even by our 'numbed by marshland' noses?
How did Casey manage to drive around in the car without absorbing that odor, heck how did she even drive around knowing what the smell was?

I once spilled milk in the trunk of my car ---- took MUCH scrubbing, steaming, soaping and eventually cat litter to get that smell out.

Poor, poor baby. Someone may have passed by as you lay there and not even known it was you, an innocent baby.

She probably parked it next to a dumpster to 'camouflage' the smell. Then when it got too much she drove it over to AmScot and dumped it ( next to a dumpster IIRC).

Casey started to mention the smell in a text to Amy on June 25th then again on the 27th, the day she abandoned the car..
I'm sure it smelled in the car but by the 25th it must have become strong enough that she had to come up with a story about the smell.
IMO She added a bag of garbage to the trunk in case someone was close enough to smell it and say something and that way she would have an excuse...

I'll never understand it either how anyone could possibly drive the car knowing their own baby daughter was in the trunk. That's what makes it even worse, imo. I have always believed it was no coincidence the car was eventually abandoned next to a dumpster. MOO

I may be seeing things, but can anyone else see a faint line around the elbow/mid upper arm? Also, does anyone else see another hand on the side of the body laying down? It looks like both arms are resting in the same position. What I am saying is this...it almost looks to me like the arms may have been secured to the body around the chest (perhaps that extra piece of duct tape found loose at the dump site??)

That line near the upper arm bugs me too. But the only piece of duct tape found at the scene that was the same "make & model" as the duct tape on the skull would have been too short to go around Caylee's chest. It would easily have fit around her wrists, though.

Of course, there could have been more tape that was never found, but the LE searchers did a pretty amazing job of clearing the scene.
