PLEASE tell me where Fat Tuesdays is so I can sleep tonight! I can't find it and it is driving ME to drink now! :martini:

There has not been a Fat Tuesday in Downtown Orlando for 15 years. I think Roz was mis-spoken about the bar.

 Thank you! Now my search engines can rest.

Yeah, I have wondered that too - why the heck are they not pursuing it.
They wouldn't pursue other things as well...one being the whole KF association. Again...it dealt with money. We've said it often here...when it comes down to it...follow the money!

I went back and listened to Rozzie again. She could be mistaken, and certainly mistaken about the name of the place, of course, but she is clearly saying it is not the night he went to Dragon room and was not able to find her. She says on this night he did find her, "She was drunk and partying". Then three more weeks went by before the police were called.

It could be Mallory or another friend that was either with Lee or with Casey that told her. She does mention that this is how Lee testified in his depo because she was mentioning he cannot get on the stand and deviate from what he testified in his deposition.

Hold up a minute... was it said Lee found KC a week after Caylee was last seen or was it said he found KC first week of July.... I have my reasons for asking ... thats a big difference. June 22ish or July 3ish???

I have always candidly admitted that I do this for the obvious marketing advantages it provides (lawyer speak for "Free Publicity"). The big difference is that I do not play favorites, nor do I misstate information (at least I try not to), nor do I hide any agenda I may have.

As for Rozzie's statements about Lee, she is referring to a statement Lee Anthony supposedly gave to law enforcement pursuant to a grant of use immunity that his lawyer negotiated. I do not believe this "statement" has been released yet.

If I understood her correctly, she was implying that Lee had confronted Casey a week after Caylee was last seen; thus the family had known for at least three weeks that Caylee was missing. Which would explain why Cindy told Casey "we have given you over a month" to find Caylee.
So much for mother-daughter bonding. Criminy. If Lee's statement hasn't been released, how is that people know?

I know from first hand knowledge as a drunk... I mean respected attorney, that the lodge is not the dragon room.

The Dragon Room is where people who look like the cast of Jersey Shore hang out.

The Lodge is where the membership of your local preppy Frat House hang out.

Dragon Room is on Church Street, The Lodge is on Orange. Across the street from Tabu - a club owned by Mark Nejame.

Well I was confused when Lodge was mentioned because that is a far cry from the "Dragon Room." That is why I stuck that in parenthesis thinking maybe some called it a Lodge and some call it the Dragon Room.

Where is The Lodge playing into this? I haven't seen it referenced anywhere? :waitasec:

Ok...I'm all the way back at the beginning of the thread...and it's late...co-mingling what money? I'm confused.

I think he means co mingling money that should be in a trust or escrow account that belongs to Casey with his money. A trust account is, generally speaking, an account that is held by a trustee on behalf of a beneficiary. Specifically, attorneys hold client funds on behalf of clients. Those are to be wholly separate. He also said that a different lawyer should have brokered any deals and managed Casey's money. That is the number one issue for the Florida bar, mishandling the client's money. Think of Todd recently being in hot water for using money out of his clients trust or escrow account for his personal things. This is my take on it...we see how he dresses and what he drives, yet there is no money being spent on the evidence being examined or depositions being done, for a year, who is watching the cookie jar? I have said I wish Mr. Hornbsy or Mr. Sheaffer would take over the case. We want her to get a fair trial, and only ONE TRIAL. I think the prosecutors were spot on to ask for the pauper to princess hearing when they did. At twenty two and twenty three years old I don' think she has any idea what any of this means. He certainly knows the rules though.

Kewl! I tried calling that number and it has been disconnected. I wonder when they closed down?
Did you try calling the one that's open and inquire when the other one may have closed?

We have Lee depo with Morgan and Morgan.

Thanks...almost at the end...so it's co-mingling of his money with his client's money. Gotcha. Maybe the trust account was the proof he provided the judge? But, that doesn't explain how Casey gave him anything.

Exactly, which was why I said he was "trying" to find her. This could be some really interesting information!
...and was it a week after June 8th or 15th?

  • #155
Did you try calling the one that's open and inquire when the other one may have closed?

Mr. Hornsby clarified that it's been closed a long time and Roz probably got the name mixed up.

  • #156
Lee was deposed by the Mrs. Drane-Burdick, right? Do we have Mallory's yet?

  • #157
IMO tho, even if Lee found KC one night in early July, asked where Caylee was and KC said she is with friends... that doesn't make Caylee missing at that point, she was with friends. KWIM??? I know she was gone at that point but just because KC told Lee she was with friends Lee had no idea that anything was amiss.
Depends on the circumstances of her departure from the home, don't ya think? That was a big issue in the beginning. We could never understand how the As went so long without seeing Caylee...or knowing where Caylee was. ("We trust our daughter", my a$$)This kinda explains that they were very worried...and it wasn't about giving Casey space or a mother-daughter bonding break as Cindy claimed. You know, the As had a pretty good script right from the beginning. They didn't have an attorney then...was it Baez who came up with all the cr*p they spewed?

  • #158
BUT....if GA and CA handed Baez a check in the amount of $200,000 on behalf of their daughter as payment towards her defense, to be deposited into an escrow account, couldn't that technically be construed that Casey retained Mr. Baez?

And if Baez has withdrawn $88,000 from this escrow account for services rendered in this case, isn't he correct in stating that "KC has paid him $88,000to date" in the recent financial affidavit for indigency?

I believe Mr Hornsby made reference earlier about the mother of his client who paid his retainer fee, so Mr Hornsby, when applying for indigent status for this client, did the financial affidavit reflect that Mr. Lenz paid YOU "the amount mentioned"?
Here in CA it doesn't matter who pays you the client is whomever the funds are paid on behalf of. IOW, if I paid 100k for your defense, you are the one retaining the attorney and the lawyer wouldn't tell me anything about the case. Just cause I put in the dough doesn't make me the client. I don;t know how that plays into indigency.

Thanks...I finally made it through 7 pages!

But Caylee was missing for 31 days before Cindy made that call...right? She was with Cindy at the grandpa's mursing home on father's day and I think it has been figured that she was dead by that night?????
