I mean that I think that Lyon is the only attorney who is in it for the right reasons, thus she will stay in it for the right reasons.

If the others are still around, it will be just to get their face on TV, but will not have any major role (i.e. F. Lee Bailey in Simpson case).

Do you mean Lyons is the only one has the "passion" to stay? Because of her belief that this should not end in another death penalty verdict? (Which I think so too, but should not have opened that can of worms.) She is not there for the free publicity, but for a cause?

Not there for the publicity? How serendipitous it is then, that this court case appeared on her calendar right at the time she needs publicity for her book.
Haven't seen it on the NY Times best selling list yet...

Mr Mason took the case because it is FUN!!!

Isn't that so very sad. Poor baby Caylee. If he was a true professional
or could hear himself speak he maybe would have said a true challenge.
But fun? I think not.
I was happy to see a experienced lawyer come aboard but now
he is no different than the rest of them on the defence team, doing it for notoriety, not justice.
Alot of hot air!!!!!!!!!

LML......thank you for sharing. I don' think anyone expected you to say anything to anyone. Your post may have read as a bit of a news "tease" for more info to come later. I am sure you didn't mean it in that way, but given how everyone is already so "traumatized" by the media spin in this case I can see how it could be taken several ways.
Thank you for being there....for sharing your experience....and for speaking as a person. We do appreciate you and your willingness to "expose yourself" by describing your attire.
I don't think anyone wants you to act in an official capacity...... Everyone is just "hungry" for firsthand details and for people to think that you have info that you can't share is likely too much for folks to process.

well , thank you very much. the only reason i even said what color sweater i had on was not about my fashion show-lol. it was because george complemented me on the color - a violet purple.. he said he likes it thats why his shirt was purple. then i just blurted out- i got it for 75% off practically free-lol. then jacki from wesh said yes i love sales like that. george said he did to. then i said i posted your shirts are always perfect ironed once- then he said he does his own. you can see this was just friendly chit chat. the comment about twins was vague when i said to him - i hope it all works out for you . i might have said about the twins. then he said they- meaning officials arer looking into it and more will come out.he said. thats it folks. cindy and i had a nice woman to woman moment - she knew what i meant about stay strong- be one united. somethings a wife knows from another wife. no words needed. do not kill the messenger folks-lol i am only a lady who likes to talk to anyone. i am, open andfriendly i guess- or else why would i blurt out the price of my 75% off-lol. i can not lie!! the real questions i would have loved to ask would have been too much - i would have been invade his space and privacy. he had to wait in line and was nice enough to talk with me and others. he did not have too.

No, because Andrea said you could subtract the 22,500 from the 70,000 so that is another 47,500

So...
275,000.00
47,500.00
322,500.00

The defense had 345k to spend. AL said the entire 70k was used on the case and her 22500 could be taken out of the 70k. As in she paid herself from that 70k However that entire 70k was used for Casey's defense. In fact AL said that account was in the hole. So they might have spent even more that and the defense had no realy numbers just estimates so we have to take that into account.

So if we look at the "estimates" as being close to the real figures. The defense had 345k give or take.

200k from ABC
5k from unknown
70k from T. Mac
70k from AL Depaul Law Clinic (all if it plus some was used in defense according to AL)

89-90 was paid to Baez
22.5 was given to AL out of the 70k from Depaul.
So the defense in it's motion only claims to have spent 112.5k (estimate)

So there is still 232.5 unaccounted for (estimate) by the defense. If I were the JAC I'd want to know where that 232.5k is. That and I'd want to know what the defense has spent thier money on because it's seems the defense has mishandled the money and hasn't keep good records and/or invoices.

Oh yeah and a box of oranges. Whats a box of Indian River Oranges go for these days? 30-40 dollars?

But fun? I think not.

Well, you would think that a lawyer who has practiced as long as he has would be aware of how inappropriate that comment was. I was repulsed by him and his jovial manner.

He behaved as though he had just received an invitation to some exclusive party where the "fun" (his words) just never stops. :furious:

oh thank you, however, what about those "other experts" defense paid in the beginning. Snake dissection, private investigation, and whom else? What else do we know?

If I might digress for a second. I do not believe there is some $700K deal out there, nor have I ever thought that.

Rozzie Franco, who has a gift for salacious comments, is the one who stated that "rumor" on the BlogTalk interview. I never agreed with her, nor even followed up as it was out in left field; which I thought was obvious until the blogs got a hold of her statement - some attributing it to me.

Personally, the one rumor I heard from different, mainstream reporters was for $250K paid up front, and $250K to be paid at the back end "when she was acquitted." That was before it was verified that it was ABC who paid the money, and before Baez confirmed the 200K today.

And my only real point, is the sole source of the 700K rumor is from Rozzie Franco who just blurted it out. Neither I, nor Steph Watts agreed with her or said we heard the same thing. I just think it should end, as being unsubstantiated and unlikely rumor from Roz.

Shame on Roz!! I thought she stopped visiting on "the Monsters" (radio talk show for you non-locals) because she wanted to be viewed as a serious, professional journalist. Starting a rumor like that is hardly what I would call professional!!

This may be off topic. If so I apologize. I remember at Caylee's memorial service that George said he wore a violet shirt because it was Caylee's favorite color.

I don't know. For some reason it just irritates me that he's now saying it's "his" color now. It's like taking away everything that used to be Caylee specific and making it their own. :banghead:

Sorry for the mini rant.

Guys, again, you have the amount wrong from ALyon's student procuring funds. In all, the defense received $282,000...

$200,000 from ABC
70,000 from Todd Mac
5,000 from an anonymous donor
7,000 from ALyons law students procuring funds

I hate to be nitpicky..

I find him to be a big WIND BAG... in fact that's how I see AL too !!! He seems to think that he's "ALL THAT"..

no one owns the color-lol. maybe caylee loved it cause she saw it a lot in their home or clothes they bought. maybe they both loved it. my bathroom and den has a bright purple wall in both. my hubby has humored me by letting me have it. he hates it. now we are going to paint it and i argue i want terra cotta and he wants white. purple is a spiritual color and used fro easter lent too. i love it too and i am not taking it way from anyone-lol.

It would be a cold day before I took anything she said seriously.
Although, thinking back, she did a nice little expose' on Todd Black with some help from others.

:waitasec: In Baez's interview he states that all attorney's have a trust, he says all lawyers have a trust. A reporter asked if they had payed taxes on the money or if it was put into the trust, he didn't answer that question.

I wonder what this trust is for and can someone get the amounts in the trust? They are working pro-bono so why would they need a trust account? What money would go into the trust, if they are not recieving any? And if they are, where did the money come from? Seems as if we come back to the same question. Where did the money come from and where did it go?

CM: "If JAC chooses to interfere with KC's constitutional rights, I'll make 'em pay for it."
Mighty strong words from someone who up until a few days ago had no dog in this fight.
Terrific... just what this case needs...another headline grabber.

Today under oath Andrea said $70,000 came from her law clinic, it's a non-profit org. What is a student procuring fund?

A legal trust account is a way of segregating client funds from the general operating account for the practice. One may not pay bills out of a trust account. It is set up for the purpose of NOT mingling client funds and general account.

All attorneys that accept money on behalf of a client or from a client are to deposit it into a trust.
