2010.04.01 - Misty Cummings, Hank Sr., SYKES' Jailhouse Conversations Released

She gets sympathy from her mother, who is also an enabler. It's just a little peek into how she must have been raised. I think if there was ever any discipline in that family, it probably came from Hank, Sr.

I also see that she has more respect for her father. Her mother has given her no guidance, other than how to get the salt off of pretzels to use on other food while behind bars.

But SoSueMe, you have to admit the tip about the salt is a good one. Would you have known to do that? LOL.
You are so right about her level of respect for her father. Let's just hope he can be the one to influence the truth out of Misty.

I don't think Hank liked rc from the gate and was telling her so all the time. She is defiant; so is her mother. Hard to see anyway she could have been dealing before she met ronald; she was too busy scoring.

Ron broadened her world and gave her things she only dreamed of. He used her to sell drugs for him also...proabably because she used so much, he made her earn part of it.

Prior to rc, she and her brothers were into pot big time from what I can gather on their sites.
She hung around them to get her pot till she met rc and could use him instead. Hank Sr. comes across as the onlly one with half a brain but it must be an illusion because he never made it out of the mess. He seems to know what is going on but doesn't want to do or say anything to stand up to his wife or children. He is weak and has been led around by the tail. This case is giving him a problem, because to survive, he is going to have to either get info and/or give up one or two children. He just can't keep running which is the way he always handled problems in the past.

Misty cannot justify any of this since she is just now talking, while behind bars. All these stories should be expected, she is trying to save her own backside without admitting the truth about Haleigh. She can't admit the truth because it will not open a door to let her out of jail. She is simply throwing stuff out in the hopes something will take the pressure off of herself. The truth is not an option, never has been or she would have told it on the 10 of February 2009.

Raisin! I've missed you!! Good to "see" you :wave: Your post is perfect and spot on. It is very saddening though because it makes me realize the bolded part is true. I've been holding my breath for Misty to crack but I think you are right... it is just not an option.

Also it's called throwing poo at a wall and seeing what sticks Kinda fitting for this group.

Misty still doesn't seem to really comprehend that until she comes clean, she doesn't stand a chance at getting out of there.

Her father couldn't have been more clear - but she is just not listening.

She sounds just like Hope Sykes - it's never their actions that got them into the predicament they currently find themselves in - it's because LE don't like them, are out to get them or whatever. It's their lack of respect for the law that keeps them from cooperating.

I hope Hank can make some headway, if he keeps at it (I know that his motives are a bit suspect, but I don't care what it takes to get to the truth about what really happened to Haleigh).

I'm glad at least one family member is trying to get through to her, all the others are a waste of time, with their sympathy and support.

I disagree regarding Hank sr. - yes, he does come across as the one with more intelligence to know that unless this crew comes up with something closer to the truth, they are all going to be doing some serious time. I have to give him credit for trying to get that through Misty's thick head yet she whines about "when she gets out" or "I'll take the youthful offender and run" plan. She doesn't get it that those aren't options for her TO take. Her inmate cronies are filling her head with this "$*ap" is my guess and Hank is trying to get her to stop LE from nailing the door shut on her - yet she doesn't seem to be listening to him. She has selective hearing and unless she can figure out that RC is not her knight in shining armor, never was or ever will be, she'll be going through the motions of the justice system until it's just too late.

That statement really bothers me, it is almost like a justification for the child not being with her father. I find it interesting too that misty seems to make the same kind of justification now saying Haleigh never even called Crystal mom, in her letter to her friend.

Could someone please tell me what has happened between the time Misty tells her Mom,,,she "still loves him",,to now when papa Hank says RC is trashing her....and she says she doesnt care anymore??? What has brought this about? Did I miss something? If for one minute Papa Hank and Mama Lisa had wanted the truth to come out about Haleigh,,they would STOP going to visit her and give her phone calls home...period....They NOT the LE have the upper hand with her...Then the truth may come out if MC is isolated,,,completely....As long as they cater to her wants she will never speak up....

In one of the latest parts, he says that he doesn't care what anyone says, Tommy doesn't have the heart to have done something with Haleigh. Misty says "well, yeah lets not talk about that on here".

I wonder what the date is on this latest video, I guess it was after the polygraph, which would explain Hank's comments about Tommy not being involved.

In some other of their convo's, it seems like HC cuts MC off when she's about to say something he doesn't want her to. Sounds to me like he's doing it here, too.

"They're trying to ruin our whole lives" and he quickly pipes in "Whoever did this . . ."

It seems very odd in this situation to use the term "they" if she didn't know who did it. It would be more natural to say "whoever did this" or "the person"

Also, I find it odd he says "whoever did this thing to Haleigh". This thing? Shouldn't it be "whoever took her"? That sounds very abnormal. It's like he's either trying not to say too much or he's distancing himself from what actually happened.

IMO, there's a lot of clues if you take their statements apart.

Very telling! Hank JR says Tommy doesn't have the heart to do anything to Haleigh and Misty replied with" Let's not talk about that on here?" Suddenly she doesn't want to talk about what Tommy might be capable of doing?

When I click the link on that video snippet, or article snippet, whichever one it was, I can't read it. It appears they might have taken it down for some reason. Why does the media do this with all the most telling links. I recall this was done during the Mondex search also when the Nay Nay letter came out, and when Timmy and Chelsea were interviewed for 14 hours in Mass. I bookmarked those links and they have never been put back up..or fixed...to this day.

Tommy says he was in bed with Lyndsey the night Haleigh came up missing. That is a little different then the time line Lyndsey gave in another jail house video. She was not home part of the night.

In my opinion Misty, Chelsea and Lyndsy have a hard time keeping their stories straight. JMO

Hopefully, all of these people should take advantage of the education classes offered in prison. All of them probably would fall into the first grade level of education if they tested them. JMO

In newly-released jailhouse videos, a tearful Misty Croslin the ex-stepmother of missing Florida girl Haleigh Cummings, and her father Hank Croslin Sr. spoke about the case during a phone call.

On the video, Croslin also told her Father, what sounds like a plea deal on the tape.

"I would do it. Three years in and four year out. I'll take it. I'll take it and run," said Croslin.
