2010.04.13 - New search for Haleigh #2

From the sounds of how dirty this water is, I find it hard to believe anything that would be in the water for over a year would still be white. IMO.....

SO, that being said, let's try and move away from the Twitter discussion and get back to the news at hand.

Learning how to read into what LE dose not say to try and get a better picture as to what is really going on. :banghead:
So, Misty gave LE info, one person is in Custody, but it is not her the way Fields is talking, she is hidden somewhere still in custody for the drug charges. The person in Custody is someone that was also in jail for the drug charges I assume or someone local. LE would have to do other to arrest someone out of state in the short time it took to report someone is in custody. IMO, That would leave Ron, Tommy, Hope, and Donna. I doubt it would be Hope or Donna. That leaves us with Tommy and Ronald.

The area being searched is about a mile by boat and 5 miles by road from where Haleigh disappeared. Remember the dogs led to the water/dock? I always wondered if Ron's John boat was used to transfer Haleigh. Or someones boat. I can't recall where I read Ron had a boat.

A break may have come in the case from Misty Croslin. Her attorney said Croslin, who is jailed on drug-trafficking charges, may have provided helpful information that led to other leads.

"This latest search was based on information from someone else," said attorney Robert Fields. He said Croslin may have "shed some light" on who was responsible.

"Somebody else has possibly been implicated in this," he said. "You need to look away from Misty."

Misty had been brought back for an interview.

Ronald Cummings, and then-girlfriend Croslin, are both in jail on the drug charges.

The area being searched is a previously unsearched swath of river and woods. It is about a mile by boat and 5 miles by road from where Haleigh disappeared and "quite a bit south" of the home in Satsuma, Greenwood said.

Greenwood would not say what evidence searchers were looking for but that divers and other law enforcement officers were searching the St. Johns River and wooded areas on either side of the waterway at the end of Shell Harbour.

I am just going to be patient....news evolves so quickly.

I have been checking the jail links in Nashville....Joe wasn't showing up. No Overstreet was. FWIW

Yes, that is true.

Levi is giving the information he is getting at the time. This always happens when a case is unfolding quickly but he is also correcting his information as quickly as he knows it was wrong.

imo

Re: The "white box". My initial reaction upon viewing the container that was being retrieved (live?) from the water during the interview with the Sheriff was that it looked like a Rubbermaid storage container not unlike several that I have in my home/garage for garden tools, holiday decorations, books, etc. These products were branded "roughnecks" when marketed because they are practically indestructible and waterproof.

Video caption says item pulled from river..

Forgive me if this has been brought up before.

The box, or at it least it looked kind of like a box, that was brought up by the divers, couldn't have contain Haleigh herself as the Sheriff said they have not found her.

If it was an actual wooden type box that was brought up then it must have evidence in it that would lead them to believe Haleigh is in the river.

What could it be? Don't have a clue. Why would they need to put it in a box and put it in the river rather than take it to a dump? Don't know.

OH God forgive me but what if the box contained a body part. The Sheriff would still be able to say they have not found her.

Sorry, thinking out loud.
I know, Trish,,me too....I cannot believe they have not found at least a part of this child.....They would have to have found part of her, for them to be so sure as to bring the family in,,,they are just saying they havent found "her" because they are waiting for dna maybe or forensics to prove it is Haleigh.....They have told many "mistruths" before, just like when they were having practice dives at the Mondex....when we knew they were searching for her.....I think they have concrete evidence in their possession, of Haleigh being there or they wouldnt have gone to all this trouble both with the media,,,us the public,,,and most importantly, the family,,,JMO of course...

Please, we do not want to discourage anyone from posting things they hear and those things may not prove to be correct. Just do it in the member's only forum until we get it all sorted out. :grouphug: No one is in trouble. Keep our thoughts on Haleigh.

On the first part of this thread, I asked not to quote tweets here. We have a thread in the member's forum that is better suited for that. I can't read every post at this time. There's just no way.

This is why I wanted the Twitter stuff to stay off this thread, so we could have one place with verified news to discuss.

I deleted mine sorry

I can't tell by looking...the box seems so small. Could someone give a guess as to the measurements of this box?

Bringing in large stadium lights....setting up for night search.

It looks to me to be about 3 ft long, about 1 1/2 ft wide, and I have no clue regarding depth.

Just a guesstimate.

If you look carefully at the men carrying that item, they are NOT wearing tanks and masks, so it would seem it is not equipment that the divers are using. The two men/people behind the "carriers" are both apparently wearing tanks and masks, so they may have handed the item off to officers on shore who just waded in to pick it up.
