That's what I thought when I went thru those documents.... GA KNEW (and still knows) that there was human decomposition in that car. When he started to clean the car, I bet he took it to a car wash facility and vacuumed it out and tried to wash it there. Think about it...the car smelled atrocious....who would want decomposition elements (of any kind) in your personal vacuum cleaner? You'd never get that smell out of your vacuum cleaner. It doesn't surprise me that there wasn't anything in the vacuum cleaners....not with that smell in the car. And in the process of trying to clean the car... you're right.. they certainly were not thinking of Caylee. :furious:

I don't doubt for a moment that they really did use a commercial car wash facility. I was reading these threads periodically while at work & was thrilled that someone brought this up (because I couldn't post it myself).

You make a VERY excellant point: while would anyone be willing to use their own vacuums on a smell like that? I wonder how long these places keep their survellance videos? It would be interesting to view the places closest to the A residence within the time frame starting with them retrieving the car from the impound lot to the point that LE took the car away.

What I don't understand is if they went to all this trouble cover evidence as is presented here, why do you all think GA made a point of telling YM at their first meeting that the car smelled like something was dead back there and that he thought KC was holding something back? Why would he have brought attention to something that no one had even noticed yet and they were trying to conceal? Crikey they could have set the car on fire and destroyed everything.

Good questions JB. IMO, perhaps in the first hours/days CA was too wrapped up in grief-suppression and crisis-management mode to yank the reins on her minio--sorry, her spouse. He was ex-LE talking to LE, without CA there to grip his hand or kick him in the ankle under the table if he got off-script. I also think GA, for all his flaws, wants KC to be held accountable.

Bet they've had that same thought about torching the Pontiac themselves, too. Pillow talk in the A household--*cringe*....

Good question JBean. I think George had moments of clarity where he wanted to tell the truth (like when he was interviewed by LE and also when he had to testify during the GJ hearing), but as soon as he went back home he woud be "under the influence" of Cindy. He usually does what she tells him to do. I don't know..just thinking out loud. George seemed to vasilate a lot during the beginning. He drove the car directly home from the impound yard after smelling that horrid smell, not directly to LE. I honestly can't figure him out. Especially since he made comments to the impound yard guy that his daughter and grandaughter were missing and he was afraid to open the trunk!

JBean, I totally get where you are coming from.

It is my belief that GA really wanted to come clean in the early stages. If you recall, during that interview, (maybe paraphrasing, but may be a direct quote 'cause it is burned into my brain) GA stated, "I hope what is said here will stay between the 3 of us." In these early days, I believe GA was caught between a rock & a hard place - wanting to clear conscience and be loyal to Caylee vs. dreading the wrath of CA should he dare say anything that could incriminate Casey. CA won out in the end.

I am wondering if they were looking for further incriminating evidence of both decomp on any hairs found in the vacuum cleaners and whether or not Casey or anyone tried to shampoo the trunk.

The shop vac at least did not have any signs of being new - there was all kinds of old stuff in there. But I wonder if they had one of those super/duper hand held vacuums - they could have just thrown it out very easily. It doesn't sound like the LE were going through the Anthony's garbage cans?

And six months is a long time to assume those were the same vacuum cleaners.

yes but she went off script first by reporting it to the 911 dispatch.

Maybe George wanted to get on their good side so they might share what information they had with him. The smell was apparently overwhelming so he was just stating the obvious anyway.

To be honest, I believe at one time George would have come forward with what he knew. It was weighing heavily on him IMO. Cindy squashed that thinking in a hurry...I honestly do feel that CA would go to GREAT lengths..extreme measures even, to cover up and try to clean KC's 'mess' up..jmo tho..

Possibly...and even though I can't imagine Cindy allowing a used vacuum cleaner in her house, I was thinking they could have been replaced, but with vacuums that were not new..less suspicious looking that way, ya know? I know it sounds over the top, I really do..but IMO CA is every bit as sneaky as KC, heck, she was most likely one of KC's best teachers, if the truth was known..:angel:

Well...maybe they cleaned the car, but held onto the vac for awhile, but then decided they better get rid of it after things got really intense? Again...just thinkin' out loud. We will probably never really know.

I totally agree with the part I bolded.

As for CA's 911 call declaring "it smells like theres been a dead body in the damn car" - that was an 'excited utterance'. She had totally freaked and came out of denial for a brief moment. To this day I believe if CA could take back just ONE thing, that would be it.

That excited utterance tells me she had no clue what was happening until that moment. I heard a very loud click when she made that last call and it was coming from her brain. Lights were on.

Betcha Cindy used that 24 hours wisely. Explains why she was so exhausted during those first interviews - complaining of no sleep at all. Looking for Caylee (however, did she really ever look?) and all that cleaning will wear ya out.

It was actually around 4 the next day (16th) they taped it up and by 7 they were pulling it into the evidence garage.
