J.T. an adoption fee for the dog would not take care of the situation as she "hates" the dog. I currently have 3 dogs that I have adopted due to uncaring individuals such as L.C. - it makes me sick, to be honest with you. Granted, L.C. is not the one that brought this dog into her home, my understanding is that TomC took the dog because someone was being incarcerated. My beef with L.C. is that she is punishing the dog because of something TomC did to her and her family. She needs to find a loving home for this dog, not drop it off at the animal shelter. This poor dog is a victim here just as much as her children are, is she going to just drop the children off at DCF? Of course not, she is going to give them security, stability and love ... is it too much to ask that she not do the same for this poor animal (that did not ask to be placed in this situation). I have supported L.C. all along, but this conversation and her attitude has changed my views toward her. Personally, I feel for pets and children in the same way - they need a voice to stand up for their rights.

She's purposefully giving Tommy a hard time with his dog. I'm sure he already knows she didn't adore the pit bull, and the extra work a pit bull requires. It's a burden on top of the children. BUT ... she didn't need to move the dog with her - clearly, she did keep it for him - anticipating he'd return.
Tommy=dog in a way. Locked in cage. She says dog's goin' to be the pound probably by (rolls her eyes) oh, July. - Gee, isn't that when Tommy would be headed for the big house? (why else would she wait from April to July with the dog?)
She is angry. And playin' hardball with him. Tommy is at a loss - he just has to listen to her rant and take it.
To digress a bit ... I have thought about Lindsy & the pit bull quite a bit. At the moment, I think the dog is better off with Lidnsy, being crated in the home, rather then at the Humane Society, just as long as she's working to find a new home/family to adopt it. I hope she by-passes the Humane Society route, where pit bulls are in abundance - they have such a stigma. Tick-tock for that breed at the Humane Society, where often the "humane" thing is being put down after a too-long stay.
Where I hail from, if you have a pit bull, and you haven't told the HO Insurance company, your insurance is subject to cancellation. Otherwise, you negotiate an exclusion for anything pit bull - related. Such a bad rap this breed has. Even though it's the owner/trainer/raiser of the pit bull that makes a bad pit bull. They're not necessarily born bad. The breed can be over-bred for certain qualities...
I could go on and on with the Croslin /pit bull metaphors, but it's not anything we haven't already discussed about the generational dysfunctions of the Croslins directly - without the color and poetry of metaphor... so, I'll spare everyone the dog metaphors about nature vs. nurture...

I think she found a home for the dog. Remember in one of the tapes that were just released and the time frame was after this tape Tommy names a guy and says his dog got in a fight with this guys dog. Tommy's dog got off the chain or something at the guys house. Tommy says he told the guy to keep them seperate. Hank ask him do you think the guy is going to get rid of your dog and Tommy says no.
I found this on Craig's list, maybe this is a solution to assist L.C. with the dog. (I hope it is okay to post this link). Maybe a group of us could make a small monthly donation until a permanent home is found for this unwanted family member. Even though I am unemployed and looking for a job, I would be willing to contribute my share. Anyone else interested?

I had hope Lindsy would figure the dog out, and she was just throwing anything she could think of at Tommy that day just to be pissy with him. :slap:

Oh, so Lindsy did find a home for the dog, and apparently it is the kind of dog that does not play well with others, and gets off it's chain and attacks other dogs. Hmmm, I can find no fault whatsoever with Lindsy keeping it crated and keeping her children safe from it.
Has Lindsy prepared herself to handle a range of home emergencies now she is the adult in charge? Does the dwelling Lindsy and her children currently occupy have an alarm system or has Lindsy left herself in the same position Misty was in the night HaLeigh mysteriously disappeared? Isn't Lindsy afraid someone might come into her home while she is sleeping and snatch one her precious children? If she hasn't already done so, she needs to have an alarm system installed to make her home safe during the night now they are out on their own IMO. Their dog likely barks when he hears a strange noise which offers some protection but an alarm system works best.
I'm sorry but around here about 60 north of where LC lives alarm systems are not free or cheap. It cost way more than she can afford to have installed and then pay the monthly fee. I agree she/kids needs protection because of all the nuts out there and I pray she has added extra locks for their safety. Maybe we should take up a collection to get them an alarm system instead of paying for someone to adopt the dog. Makes more sense! I for one would not want a pit bull that has problems loose around my children especially a toddler. Last month my husband went out to get the paper and a neighbor was letting his dog run ahead of him and the dog run up our driveway sniffed at my husband who petted the dog and it backed up and lunged at him. Even though he was able to throw up his arm and knock the dog away it managed to grab onto his neck at the jugular area and tore the skin and left deep puncture wounds. Needless to say he ended up in the emergency room and had to have stitches. The doctor said normally dog bites are not sewn up due to the risk of infection but he had no choice since skin was missing. I shudder to think what if this had been our six year old granddaughter. She would have been knocked to the ground and hurt much worse maybe killed. When the Sheriff came the man said he had taken the dog in because it was a straw. Thank goodness it did have it shots. Animal control came and took the dog away for a 10 day lockup. We have no idea if the neighbor got the dog back. Florida has a lease law which the man did not observe. His wife told animal control he didn't like to put the dog on a leash and was "ornery" about doing so! My advice to LC if she still has the dog keep it caged to protect your children and yourself. I have a feeling this dog will have problems wherever it goes. We always had dogs when our children were growing up and they all (4) have one or two house dogs now so we are not against dogs but lets be real here this dog is a danger to LC and children!

I wouldn't donate a penny to any of the Croslins! My goodness, with all the inconsistencies they've all told, and with the family help that Lindsey gets she doesn't need any donations. Walmart sells door and window alarms from $9.99-12.99 and a system that would be less than a hundred dollars for a door and several windows. Those children have Lindsey's family to look out for their safety, hopefully. They've sure provided housing, cars, and I'd bet lots of money at times. Plus, I know darn well that a nursing home would hire her, because they're always short handed.
I agree about the nursing home & probably a hospital, or home health. All of these people have excuse after excuse for not working. She hasn't been charged with a dang thing, & I don't believe employers would hold her soon to be exe's drug bust, against her. All reports point to her being cooperative. unless she's just really picky, I don't see what the problem is.

I was answering about having an alarm system installed. They are not cheap. I also said "I pray she has added extra locks for their safty"! That includes doors and windows.
About donating money I was being facetious because so many wanted to donate money to save the dog why not to save the kids.
About Lindsy having a job she does! She started working May 17. Remember all these tapes we are hearing are six to eight weeks old. And no I do not know Lindsy, I have seen and talked to her one time. But I do stay up to date.
She has made mistakes and I'm sure she will make many more in her life just like all of us have and will. People need to get off her back and leave her and her children alone and let them get their lives on track and go forward. I would sure hate to live my life with millions of people looking over my shoulder just waiting to pounce on everything I say or do. I can't tell you how many times WS members and others have looked at or read about her MS mood and been 180% out in the reason behind her mood.
About her family helping her they have and they will continue. I would help mine anyway possible even if I don't agree with some of their choices. I would never let my family go hungry, no place to live or means to get to work, school, ballgames and even to see To if thats what she wants. I would find a way! Would it make all of us feel better if her family turned their backs on her and the kids. Wow that would give us something else to talk about and tear to shreds. I better stop before I get a TO. We need to walk a mile in her shoes before we pass judgement. For the record I do not agree with some of the things she has said and done. Hopefully she will learn from this experience and make a better life for herself and her family.
I personally feel unless we can say something nice about someone don't say anything at all. I cannot imagine what it is like trying to live her life with so many strangers deciding what she means by every word or action when they really don't know.
Sorry so long I have a problem being able to say what I feel and mean in just a few words as you can tell!

{Respetfully} B&CBM. I certainly understand what you're saying, and I do agree to an extent. With all due respect though, this is a very high profile homicide case. Even if WS members/bloggers started minding our own, LE, journalists, the media & public have a vested interest in this family in hopes of finding a glimmer of answers. I'm not implying that it's right, but such is the way with 'association'. Take DonnaB ... She is not a suspect in the homicide investigation, but her character is very much under the gun.
Tommy has not been ruled out as a suspect/accomplice, so his close family ties and their personal life will continue to be publicly scrutinized until there is justice.

As far as us using whatever means to look at her and try to get a feel for who she is - her social networking comments are fair game.
If my relative was involved in a high profile case such as this you can bet your bippy I would not be posting comments in the public eye and expect them to be off limits or "private". There is no way that girl, uneducated, young, naive, or whatever can possibly believe those postings and comments would not be scrutinized.
If you don't want that, don't open your mouth or type MS updates. All that said, I do feel for her. Her mothering decisions leave a bit to be desired IMO but she is no worse than many young poor mothers I see at the grocery store or gas station daily.
I hope she gets herself together and gets away from this C family. She seems to want better for herself and kids, and I hope she continues to pursue it.

Dr. Fessel, it was my understanding from listening to previous tapes that the guy was only watching ToC's dog for Lyndsy while she and the children where vacationing in MA. Not that she had found a home for him.
In these last tapes (end of April convos), Tommy tells Timmy or vice versa that Lyndsy is going to keep the dog for Leila per Lyndsy.
