2010.07.01 Cheney Takes on Another Major Case - Jim Greer

I agree. That's why CM calls these cases fun, his mission is to just dabble in them and add his 'trade' name and his old boy network ... not do real work.

I think his 'trade' name is devalued on the market though.....

IMO he will try to bail.Anne F. will get stuck.I have felt all along he'd like to get out, between kc.and B. who could blame him.I have felt this is why he doesnt knock himself out going over kc's case. Or,maybe she will plea!!!

Well, this will sure cut down on the hours he spends on KC's case, won't it? So 3 high profile cases in the last year - I thought he was going to retire? I don't know how I feel about the fact that 2 of his 3 clients live in my town.

This comes very soon after he stood up there in KC's case and complained that he didn't have enough time to file all those motions and deal with discovery and read that 300 pages that the SA sent him. He sure has a funny way of retiring.

I don't think CM ever intended to contribute much to this case-that's why he thought he'd have fun. It was probably offered to him in such a way that he thought he'd be just a required rubber stamp on documents and not much more than a "coach" for his "young" co-counsel.:waitasec:
This case is way more than CM bargained for-but he can't use the excuses AL and LKB used to escape!! He's a homeboy without money problems-well that is if they don't get fined anymore!! LEL-That's laughing even louder CM:floorlaugh:

Then I can see HHJP telling him to stick with his original client and let the new one go if it's too much to handle...

So as he moves towards retirement and reaching the pinnacle of his 40 year legal career his specialty niche of practice and purpose is the defense and enabling of babykillers facing the DP? Wow! I bet his mother would be so proud?

Maybe that is the reason CM is overloading with new clients,
DELAY, DELAY, DELAY.
Maybe it is the only way they can achieve that tactic with JP moving things right along. It will be the courts fault for the delay. Of course their client CMA is innocent and wants to get of jail and get going on her travels in that big ole motor home. I would imagine she would be mad to be kept from her plans longer than necessary. And the pressure they must feel from the A's too, they want to get CMA out so she can get their foundation going with the help of The Mother of the year title.

Maybe he needs Paying Clients to offset all the expenses he has to pay out of pocket while working Pro bono for Casey...
Just a thought

I guess Mr Greer hasn't seen his lawyer in action on this case. LOL and I do mean that as lots of luck!!!

I believe this confirms my opinions of Mr Mason and his lack of professional, self and situational awareness. I can't wait until trial when he starts recalling to the jury or judge, confidential details from the other case. Won't that be fun?? Yipee! Confusion and unpreparedness x2.

I think this is the correct thread and haven't seen this brought up yet.

"Orlando attorneys Cheney Mason and Whitney Boan will represent Windermere child-rape suspect Scott Frederick Bush.
Bush announced his representation at a hearing before Orange County Judge Kenneth Barlow at the Orange County Jail.
Bush, 50, faces child-sex charges that carry the potential of life in prison. He was denied bail Jan. 13."

Edit - Ooops, just saw it's in what's happening today posted by the Mods.

Could be part of their Plan M, since everything up to this letter has failed so far.
Actually, I think that they have pretty much run througrh the entire alphabet and have started all over again on it, IMO.

But, in all seriousness, I can so see Mason slipping up and "mis-speaking" either from this new case, or, the other child murder case that he took on last week.
A slip that would benefit both cases perhaps??

Nope, it sure doesn't..
But,was going to retire then changed his mind, Mason High profile cases in the past year include

I think CM's taking on other cases cause he doesn't want to retire with the Anthony fiasco being his last swing at the bat-so to speak!!:waitasec:

Are you thinking of Ann Finnell (sic?)

seems to me that CM is having trouble enough keeping up with JB and his antics in this case to be looking at taking on another case. But hey, maybe this is CM's polite steps toward backing out of commitment to team Anthony. (I would want out as soon as possible if my colleague got the spanking the JB just got in court).

Maybe, because as I recall he was doing this case as his last act before retirement.

CM will have a great excuse to step down from ICA's case now...The other case is demanding on his time.
