George also went on National Television on June 15th with Cindy and when asked about the abuse allegations George said they were untrue and that "it hurts, but he still loves and supports his daughter."

I'm confused why he isn't attending hearings when he is willing to go on National Television and still stand by Casey.

Can you spell: FREE TRIPS and
DINNERS :loser::banghead:

ITA and from the BRIEF "catch as catch can" looks that I got at the screen, I thought the SA team was attempting to keep a poker face for most of the session EXCEPT when our CT "hero" was actually resurrected in effigy by JB. Good Lord, with a Captain like JB, the defense should be named the SS Titanic-Andrea Doria-Anthony or SS Aphtae epizooticae. His company motto should be malapropisms are us!

So true!

Event coordinators unite!

I am not sure if you meant ICA as the event coordinator, but as I have been reading today I was wondering if ICA is employeed now by JB firm as their event coordinator. This case, today especially has been so dang funny!

It looks like the video of the examination of evidence!

snipped from: http://www.clickorlando.com/news/24113796/detail.html

Judge Belvin Perry ruled Friday that Sheriff's Office officials and the prosecution can be present for the inspection of evidence. In addition, cameras will be present.

Perry said the videos will be released to the public after they are reviewed.

I note your join date is April of this year. I don't know if you followed this case much before then, but those of us who have can tell you this behavior by Baez has been evident since his first court appearance. A lot of us believe this is a major factor in Casey being denied waiving her right to appear at motion hearings, put into place a long time ago by Judge Strickland and recently upheld by Judge Perry. IMO, this was to prevent Casey from claiming incompetent defense down the road on appeal.

TYVM for responding,yes I have
followed,but not as closely since
joining WS. I understand about
her appearing in court for all
motions, but can she still come back
and say "As a lay-person,I did not know
it was this bad" and to add insult to
injury "he kept me from my family, who
possibly would have told me,how bad
this was going" ?

I thank you for your thoughts,I'm
just dumb-founded (sp) I can't believe
what I saw today,in a court of law
and a death penalty case.:twocents:

Again TYVM for explaining :blushing:

An aside......did anyone else catch LDB's little comment about "offered to come in Tuesday during her annual scheduled leave to help JB with evidence receipts etc....."

In a VERY subtle way she was sort of saying "he wants to whine about things and demand an emergency hearing, force us here to handle a request that he is NOT entitled to receive, totally disrespect the schedule of HHJP yet be allwowed to cry foul when info comes out during once of his multiple periods of unavailability".

I think more than anything.........what offends me about this defense attorney is NOT his flubbing, bumbling through motions, and his turning a continual blind eye to court protocol.........it is his lack of respect for anyone outside his team.

He has no problem being unavailable when it suits him, but he demands "instant gratification" and "immediate attention" when it suits him. No.....not the suits with nifty pocket squares....but the times where he thinks he's "entitled".

There is nothing wrong with asking...but why "ask" when you have already said....your time means NOTHING to me. It's just bad manners. IMO

Oh good lord, I wanna :puke:

Are we sure this guy passed the bar exam??

Yeah he did, BUT he had something like 9 years to study for it!

I wonder why JB was objecting to the expert witnesses being videotaped? Why doesn't he want us to see who they are? He had to list them, what is the problem with knowing what they look like. At least that is the impression I got when he stood up and requested that the witnesses not be video taped.

Screen shots of hands won't look as good as "the expert with the evidence" shot in the book..... MOO

back to soccer....

anyone else reminded of the famous courtroom breakdown
of humphrey bogart in the caine mutiny. i think jb was very
close to his own "strawberry's" speech today.

http://www.wftv.com/news/24114206/detail.html

Casey's father, George, has stopped coming to court after she accused him and her brother of molesting her. Friday, she mouthed "I love you" to her mother before she left court, never showing her newly-capped tooth after her fall last time.

Is that a child behind Mr. Ashton?

There was a very young, blonde haired girl behind the Prosecutors in the beginning -- then a younger dark haired girl in the courtroom when the Hearing was ended......

IMHO,Dr Lee is the main reason why
there will be video cameras and
possibly extra sheriffs on duty,since
the Phil Spector allegation was made
in open court.

The prosecution needs to send
Dr Lee flowers,for helping get
another win in court.

Or even throw in a crate of Florida oranges?

Did you hear JB's response to LDB? He whiningly said, well the OCSO doesn't seem to reject Dr. Lee when they have him come to Orlando to train their people. Geesh! Jose is like a little kid who HAS to get the last word in!

Besides which, no one said the man isn't smart. Training someone is a far cry from letting him near evidence without someone keeping an eye on him. He brought that on himself.

Agreed! It was his integrity that was questioned-not his intelligence!!:snooty:

I noticed that JB stated something about LKB having cases that followed the magistrate protocol that he was trying to get approved today, but could not show the judge any cases in the country where this had ever been done, so my guess is she may have tried unsucessfully to get this done, and if she had ever gotten it done then there should be a case to have shown the judge....

I guess that CA must really beleive ruffles are in this season as she had them on the arms of her shirt today..I would assume she wants to keep up with whats in style

I think it wise to refrain from any discussion about possible minors, on this thread.

Also......
There are lots of great threads already active in the forum that pertain to specific topics being discussed. Mitigation, ineffective counsel, privacy...etc......let's be sure to discuss on the appropriate threads so discussion doesn't get lost in hearing details.

During todays hearing I think Jose Baez, Cheney, and the reason Lyons left...is because none of her attorneys get along at all! Lyons wanted Casey to do and act a certain way and Casey either won't or Jose said no. And Jose pointed out in open court today that Cheney didn't have experience to it and basically bad mouthed him in court today and he was not present, it speaks volumes to me. He also was not sure if co-counsel Cheney would be present for the depositions.

Oh lord...now I have to feel sorry for GA. Cindy is gonna...gonna... ooooh...she is gonna make his life a living hell. Even moreso...

I am telling you, I really think that letter came as much as a surprise to Cindy as to Jose.

GA in all honesty is becoming Caylee's best defense without realizing it. It was him that said "It was the smell of human decomposition. A smell that you will never forget" (paraphrasing). Also, it was him that started to walk in the woods behind the house one day. It was him that could not handle the pressure and attempted suicide with a letter. Him that asked her to mark a X on the map (allegedly). Now with this secret "why" letter behind CA's back ( I am sure) and not attempting to visit her in court anymore. He just can't put up with the lies anymore.

I pray he gets up on the stand and do what is right for his grand daughter. Telling the truth, does not mean you are turning your back on your daughter. Tell the truth, then plea to the jury to spare her life. In my opinion, she would have a better chance of Life in prison if they would do that. This denial thing is just not good for ANYONE.

Not finished reading the whole thread but JB has had access to those letter to KC all along. KC received them in jail. If he wanted to review them and check out the people who sent them he could have done that already. KC has the originals. Unless....flushie, flushie.... jmo

was this brought up earlier...when KC walked in--was she limping? or did she look drugged? She was walking really strangely, like she was hurt. Is that from the fall?
