2010.07.31 - Why are they searching DDS' relatives' properties?

What are you all thinking about the landscaping business or tree service? Shovels? Wood chippers? One of those digging machines?

I can't get my head around this idea that a friend of TH's would be involved in the disposal of anyone's body, let alone that of a child. Who would take such a risk?

How do these people find each other? Birds of a feather?

I must know really boring, staid people because I have never met anyone who I believe would help me dispose of a body. Or who would help me hide a kidnapped person. Or who would help me out by killing my husband in exchange for money.

It just blows my mind that a seemingly normal suburban, middle class, stay at home mom would be involved in something like this unless she is a stone cold sociopath.

I guess it blows my head completely off (since my mind is already blown) that a sociopath mom would be able to find someone to help her commit her crime(s).

a comment on KGW suggests that the condo is not the only property owned by Spicher. I hope I can say that, since I suppose it's a matter of public record that can be verified (or not), but dang if I can get to it on the county assessor's web site.:loser:

From what I understand DeDe's property tax billing address was different from her condo. It was an address on NW Bishop Rd. But it hasn't been determined who owns the Bishop Rd property.

Update: I can't find any Washington County tax records linking Dede to that address, all I can find is her being linked to that address by Zaba. So she probably lived there in the past, the Zaba record is from 2005. Whether she owned or rented, I have no idea.

TH and DeDe could have seen each other more often than that, and KH didn't know about it. Don't they go to the same gym? TH could do anything she wanted while Kyron was at school. If KH called her, she could have told him she was where she wasn't anytime, too. This is especially easy to do when one is not taking kids who can talk with them everywhere they go.

Right? Even my circle of friends who I would call in a medical emergency is relatively small. I'm thinking no more than one of them would help me dispose of a body...and I'd have to ask her really nicely!

I think it's very possible that relatives own vacation property - a cabin somewhere or a cottage on a lake - that's shared among the family members.

If Kyron is being held somewhere, it's a possibility that in the first week in June, Kyron was taken to a vacation property that was not expected to be used for another month or so. He might have been kept there for a few weeks and then moved to another location. This is probably far-fetched, but in keeping with DY's thoughts that he's stashed somewhere.

There is lots of speculation here about searching for a body - but my hunch is that LE probably got warrants to sieze computers. DD, it appears, was very, very chatty.

KGW has learned invesitgators are busy trying to determine what - if anything - a friend of his step-mother's knows about what happened to him.

Sources - including people who have spoken with investigators - tell KGW that DeDe Speicher was cooperating more now after an appeal from Kyron's parents that she be more forthcoming.

However, investigators believe that she has still has not told them everything she knows.

KGW has learned that investigators have conducted several searches related to Speicher, including of property belonging to relatives of hers. They have also spoken with people who were in contact with her the day Kyron disappeared.

I have trouble understanding her holding anything back. Wth is in it for her - really nothing EXCEPT CYA right?

Unless, TH did have a stash (& I highly doubt it) of $$$ hidden somewhere re: the supposed attorney payment.

So, if there's nothing in it for her EXCEPT CYA, then she's gotta be more involved than I originally suspected. She could've gotten immunity and revealed where Kyron is by now if she was an accessory after the fact.

Again, I keep going back to why? The only explanation in my mind has to be that she is more involved than consoling & supporting a panicked friend.

I'm having trouble explaining myself right now but suffice it to say that I'm highly annoyed with Dede right now. If my friend were suspected of anything criminal, LE would have my full cooperation regardless. And if a child were at risk, I'd be going above & beyond to support that investigation. But that's because I wouldn't be guilty of anything so that leads me to believe Dede is.

Thank you for the thread, Kim! It's hitting me the same way, really throwing me for ideas. What the heck are they searching her relatives' properties for? Do they think Terri may have buried Kyron on Dede's relatives' proprerties? Have stashed Kyron with a relative of Dede? From what Kaine said, Terri and Dede only saw each other about every 6 months.

Oh heck. I'm lost on this one.

There is something else that is bugging me about DDS. Whenever a person is named in a case, they hide their social network accounts. Why is her Twitter still open, I wonder? Something is very hinky here.

I know nothing about "twittering" so please excuse my opinion if I'm off base, but my thought was that it would be a faster way of communicating with Terri? Are twitter accounts accessible as far as retrieving things like text messages?
