2010.08.16 Brad Conway Resigns

So he stays on and then waits to testify in court that the motion is full of lies? - Again he would be guilty by association. People would be saying that he's a liar too, he knew the motion was full of lies but he stayed because he liked being in the limelight and he could get more info and write a book.

fyi nice to know that my opinion is really of no value but worth the time for a non-serious running debate
Lesson learned. I am going back to posting only "links"

Things get a little passionate here, sometimes its hard not to take it personally.
Your opinion is valued and I agree with you often.
Don't go away, stick it out and remember we all pretty much care about the same thing here.

Succinct and to the point - I like it!!
Conway is a liar and has continued to spin untruths and support the Anthony's untruths.
Even his resignation is SPIN, and a lie - IMO
He is quitting because CINDY sent a letter to MN without Conway's knowledge and accused MN of things that Conway KNOWS are not true, and then CINDY sent copies to JB - who in turn used them to make allegations against MN.

He is quitting because CINDY continues to try to CONTROL all matters, in spite of sound legal advice against some of the things she does. Now she has gone to far and implicated Conway in the lies and crappola.

What CINDY did has forced Conway to take a stand .... he could take that stand though, without resigning.

He plans to stay in the case, on the sidelines, much like Atty Tennis is doing, and attend Hearings, to keep themselves relevant for future MEDIA deals and talking head spots on JVM and NG and TruTV. IMO

I hope Cindy does not find another attorney she can manipulate and control like she did Conway.
I'm glad her sense of security is now taken away on this level.

Wow, just wow. I just had a chance to check in today and THIS is the first thing I see?!

In re. the bolded portions - THIS is the issue for me.... I really try not to be naive about any of the characters in this case, but I find it really hard buying that Cindy would forward those emails without Conway's knowledge. Granted, it appears that is the case... I am just thinking out loud here, but it is no secret that neither CA, GA or Conway approve of Baez... I just have a hard time envisioning CA saying to JB, "heh, I have these emails that prove you (the defense) are being kept out of the loop while others have been given carte blanche access to the same docs the defense is requesting. Want me to forward it to ya?" -- Dontcha think that she would have run this by Brad Conway BEFORE she forwarded those emails???

Lord have mercy. I just have had a few minutes to read his resignation letter, watch the Today show interview and skim this thread. However, it appears to me that Conway is alleging that BAEZ lied...er, mispoke :innocent:...(okay, we'll split the baby - misrepresented ;) ) in the defense response. That would make him a witness supporting Nejame/TES.

Or maybe I am just TOTALLY confused. :loser::banghead:

Just another thought here, but why did Brad go on national tv to make this annoucement? Why did he not just keep this low key, talk to HHJP then go back to his office quietly?

Answer: he was looking for notoriety and fees from deals. Sheeze .... he is as sleazy as he was the day he told NBC there was no duct tape found.

My opinion only ....

...and why was it so g-d awful important for Brad to view those files anyway? What useful information could the As glean from them as to what happened to Caylee? I never did understand George barging into the press conference. What was really behind that? What's really behind this?

Because he isn't part of the State vs Casey Anthony - he doesn't represent the accused and is a sidebar to any of the proceedings. In other words, his only role may be as a witness. Just because he inserts himself into this case as the attorney of ICA's parents, he doesn't have a legal role in the case.

Snipped from Orlando Sentinal website: Casey Anthony’s defense, the prosecution and EquuSearch attorneys met in Perry’s office about a half-hour after Conway’s “Today” appearance, WESH’s Bob Kealing reported.

“We still have no idea what happened in that closed-door session,” Kealing said. But Jose Baez, Casey Anthony’s attorney, said he didn’t have time to respond to Conway’s resignation, Kealing reported.

Since BC doesn't represent the accused and is not involved in her representation, why would HHBP have a meeting about BC's resignation? What difference does it make to the case? Are they worried about BC spilling something?

For your consideration - RH posted a few days ago on the Atty. thread that Mark Nejame is Conway's landlord. (I assume he owns the bldg. where Conway rents office space.)

Not meaning to imply anything at all, just putting another piece of info out there to consider.

That is exactly how I read it. Brad will testify for Mark.

BC at least lent the A's a hint of respectability..the quiet gentlemanly demeanor, the wheelchair..he elevated their image a titch. It seemed very much a sham relationship, however, because BC was not forceful and couldn't make CA understand that this case is not about HER and she is not the authority. BC could not get her to shut up and he was nearly as meek and impotent as GA in his relationship with CA. Why is it no one can get CA to put a cork in it?? CA loves being in control---Brad helped to sometimes "buffer" her from others. It will be most interesting to see how the A's handle themselves from here on out. We have a 50-50 change for some excellent upcoming theatrics.

Off topic sorta...but I was always curious why he used a wheelchair?

Exactly...I DO have clarity on that part.

Conway stated (IIRC in the interview) that he was not allowed to take notes, make copies, etc... He specifically stated that he TABBED any ones that piqued his interest. Same exact thing JS had allowed the defense to do. As far as the cash? Who cares? It was $24 freaking dollars for goodness sakes! And, Nejame allowed Brad to look at them out of compassion for CINDY and GEORGE....Caylee's grandparents.

I swear! What a crock!

I know that is part of what Conway has an issue with and while he says the defense pleading alleges falsehoods.

http://www.floridatoday.com/article...ercame+trials++takes+spotlight+in+Caylee+case
excerpts:
"Surfing accident
Conway commands attention, in part, because of the wheelchair he's used since he was 16.
On Oct. 18, 1981, Conway had spent much of the day surfing

And the boy who grew up on the shores of the Indian River and Atlantic Ocean -- fishing, surfing, diving and playing soccer and baseball -- could no longer move his legs. He was paralyzed from the chest down"

There was an article I can't find now, but it said it was the result of a surfing accident when he was about 16.

He said that people helped him out with no expectation of pay and I think that is why he gives his time freely to people he thinks needs it and can't pay.

Is it too late to put a "gag" order on CA....just CA????
