This is a free choice issue - maybe you don't care if 50% of your donation goes to "overhead" if you have a cause that REALLY NEEDS TO GET OFF THE GROUND. (not shouting!!!) Just that sometimes things are immediate!!

I don't believe the thing I'm asking for would exclude anybody from giving to any charity. It would provide a list of safe charities to give to.

Question for the mods;

Is it possible to get an area that lists WS approved charities? It could come with a reminder that many charities are run by charlatans and that WS has found these, listed, charities to be above board and suggests them?

I know what you are asking my dear but I really do not have a list. My way of judging a charity is usually based on if I know the person in charge, as in Project Jason ( a fantastic organization started by Jason's mom Kelly) or if it is an established charity or both.

Rarely do we allow any sort of fund raising on WS. I do not want our members to be constantly hit up for money.

It pains me to say this because there are so many worthy charities but our main goal is true crime discussion.

So, even though there are many charities that I approve of ,that does not mean we will have any sort of thread asking people to support them.

HOWEVER, if you have a favorite charity and you would like to put that charity in your signature let me know. If it is a charity that I feel is appropriate then you can go ahead and add it to your signature line.

It was brought to our attention that on the TES website they are asking for donations.

In light of this I will be starting a thread in Caylee's forum with a link to TES.

Please remember any fund raising type thread has to be started by yours truly. That way there are no questions as to whether it is allowed or not.

I hate being this strict but I have found out the hard way that if I loosen things in this area a small group of people take advantage of the kind people at Websleuths.

One of my duties as owner is to make sure I do my best to keep off of the forum those people and groups who would love nothing more than to take advantage of your kind and generous nature.

God sees you, the state of Florida and the people of Orlando see you, you are an inspiration and a true American hero. You sir are beloved, across our country. You are welcome in Florida. Come with your head held high, do not let cheap people dictate what you do. You are better than that. I stand with you, wherever you go and if a child should turn up missing in Florida, I will donate doubly. You make the call for volunteers and I am in . I am in big.

You'll have your volunteers sir, Americans have an amazing capacity to step up. Ask any fireman that runs into a burning building, ask any kid that signs up to serve in our military, knowing we are at war. Just ask the NYPD and NYFD members that stood on the SNL stage with the NYC Mayor who told us to continue on our path, that despite what had just happened days before on 9-11 we will not let the terrorists keep us home cowering under the sheets. Hell no we wont. When folks half way across the country have a crisis, we step up to donate or help them. Just ask the Red Cross how much money gets donated within an hour of their broadcast.
Come back to Florida, Mr. Miller, put the word out that you need help, and the volunteers will come running to help. It will be a child of their neighborhood, and they will be there. Try them. They are going to make you proud!!

On the bright side for TES, I live in Illinois and I had never heard of TES prior to Caylee's case (I've never followed a case before). Now I see TES on other crime shows and I'll say to my husband with pride "oh look there's TM of Equisearch". To make my point clear, as bad as it was for TES (and still is) being involved with CA and Co., they are more well known now. I hope it will help their donations in the long run.

To this point, and not at all to minimize the yeoman's job Tim Miller and his entire organization does, I do wish Tim would adopt a more moderate or professional tone when discussing this case. While his feelings are understandable and, in my estimation valid, to publically espouse them in a vitriolic manner may prove counterproductive to the mission of his organization. And for his own good, I hope he hastens a bit more slowly when it comes to putting words in the mouths of both Mark Nejame and Brad Conway. Those two acquit themselves nicely on their own on venues of their own choosing.
That said, he is heroic on many levels to me.

It's easy to decifer when an honest man is speaking the truth as I feel TM is and always has done. In lieu of what he has said I wish the authorities would create a family cell. It might be a first but it might be the only way to get the truth out of any of them. No joke - a family cell with an around the clock camera - like a glass cell. God hear my prayer (I'm not kidding).

I'm kinda thinking she would love to be in jail---the cell next door to her bff ICA.....wouldn't that be fun!!! almost like a slumber party -- only with bars and NO CONTACT....she lives in a different reality of her own creation....I understand a mothers devotion but she is determined to take it one step further...I'm waiting for the ground to let loose---she makes no sense in any of her ramblings---never has---the only time she has spoke the truth was that 911 phone call "found the car today and smells like a dead body in the damn car"----after that it has been cover up and move along...

I still wonder about those whose daughters were looked at as Caylee sightings feel about the A's???? I know I would have found a lawyer long time ago....those girls didn't look a bit like Caylee---If a complete stranger can determine not Caylee.....why can't those who knew her see the differences????? It's mind-boggling to think that in the short space of 24 hours the Anthony defense team has gone into meltdown...............

On Monday, Brad Conway resigned because the defense filed a motion earlier this month that contains untrue allegations involving him, and that makes him a witness to an inaccurate legal pleading filed in court. Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, filed that motion in which he made false allegations about Brad Conway's dealings with Texas EquaSearch.

On Monday, Jose Baez and Cheney Mason held a press conference, in which they appear to cast blame on Texas EquaSearch and the prosecution claiming they were denied access to records. This was clearly an attempt to garner sympathy for the defense from the future jury pool. Baez and Mason are openly lying to the public by misrepresenting what's happened!

On Monday, Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquaSearch gave an interview in which he states he'll never go to Florida again, and further states that the Anthonys are the most cold-blooded people he's ever met.

I have the utmost respect for Tim Miller! He's dedicated to helping families of missing people find their loved one. I've seen his efforts in other cases, and he's got an excellent success rate. But, over and above success is Tim's compassion for people. For Tim to say that the Anthonys are the most cold-blooded people he's ever met...............says a lot!

I don't blame Tim for being very angry with the Anthonys and with the underhanded tactics of the defense team. He's been terribly abused by them.

The Anthonys and Jose Baez have done nothing but incite the public's anger from the very beginning, with their lies and greed. Baez and the Anthonys are cut from the same cloth.......both with an eye to making financial profit from the death of a child. Baez should be sanctioned for his unethical tactics, and the Anthonys should be charged for tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice.

I truely believe that interview was a long time coming...I still remember how he held back his true feelings initially....I think the man has been pushed to the breaking point and tired of his organizaiton being run into the ground....He knows what grief is---he used his to benefit others---God bless him for that---the a's just use it to garner sympathy...but enough is enough...move along

Although you're asking the mods, I'll throw in my 2 cents.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has a charity section on their web site. They keep a list of charities they look into and you can view the list at the web site below. If you don't see a charity you're looking for on the list, hit the 'INQUIRE' button and they'll check it out for you. The BBB wants their list to be as comprehensive as possible so they welcome requests to get information on charities.

He said the worst call he ever got for a missing child came from CA. Then he gets there and sees right away that these people are acting strange and covering up.

So glad you posted that! I was going to post the same thing. I remember how Cindy "asked" TES to come, but only because the public could not understand why she wouldn't! But when they came, it was with "conditions", only look for a "live" Caylee. It was so obvious she did not want them there. Then she went on to prove it by acting in such an abhorent way, eventually going so far as to try to ruin TM's reputation. It was so transparent! Her actions to this day are unbelievable and unforgivable. Not even a thank you. I still wonder why they have not used the Kidfinders Boat for anything but a "day cruise". How can they get up each morning without feeling so ashamed! God Bless Tim Miller. Loved his interview today!

In the August 3 2008 Candlelight vigil, Cindy stated she wanted us to get off our "bums" and go look for Caylee.

Tim Miller/TES did. TWICE.
A few thousand searchers took time away from their families and did just that.

What did Cindy do? She said she would go door to door looking for Caylee..
How did that work out? I must have not heard the door bell ring.

WHO was he referring to as "they"? GA and CA kept saying KC couldn't talk to protect the family. Will GA and CA be asked WHO the family was being protected from? Why aren't they now claiming those invisible bad people must have put Caylee's body in the swamp? Why are they trying to throw suspicion on Kronk? Imagine you have been working over time , you have been saving your money, you thought you'd take a vacation or do some work your home needs. You see Caylee is missing story on the news and she reminds you of a child you know or love and just steals your heart. You find yourself praying for her that evening with your family at the dinner table. You make the decision to try to help, so you use your own money, fly to Florida, get a hotel room and go to the command center in your boots, old blue jeans, armed with a hat, bug spray, a fanny pack you still had from the eighties, meet the team you'll be with all day until it gets dark, these will be your best friends all day long. One of the folks signs you up, you answer all the questions just going down the page, top to bottom, left to right anxious and hopeful to get started looking for this beautiful child of God. You turn in the donation you had asked your family , co-workers and church members to give, some of them gave more,some only had a dollar, some of the kids gave change, but they all gave anonymously with innocent, pure hearts, as Americans have done throughout history,
Now imagine that those friends and neighbors from the church are all going to be investigated, thoroughly, to see what sins or mistakes they made in the past, if they have a record, if a child was ever a source of a custody fight and why, you name it. These are the best people you know, and now they are going to be under intense scrutiny and you feel guilty;big time, because, you are the one who asked for their help.It is being demanded you hand over their names, addresses , cell phone numbers and possibly social security numbers. What the hell? How could you do that, you are thinking and pacing.

You are damn straight Mr. Miller is a bear protecting his cubs. He knows that not only are they going to be investigated, but indeed one or more of them is going to be hung out to dry as only this defense team and mom and pop Anthony can do. In my opinion, they have made implications, blamed others for the kidnapping and likely murder Caylee, hello....a felony that if she were to be believed would have poor Jesse Grund , or Richard Kronk facing a trial and possible death penalty right now.

He was animated. I am ok with that. No hero since Biblical times has been a soft spoken person without emotions, save and except Mother Teresa, but we never saw her defend her fellow nuns who were being attacked. That doesn't take away my affinity for him. I admire him even more for being all too human. I am going to pay pal now to donate, even if it is nominal like the child putting his quarters he was saving for the gumball machine in the offering at church.

We have to remember how Texas Equusearch was founded. Mr. Miller's daughter was missing and found murdered. He, his wife, his family and lifetime friends decided to help other families in their situation, so they volunteered their time and hard work. It inspired others to help. They have done over a thousand searches, and during them all, NEVER have they been treated as poorly as they have by the Anthonys. NEVER.
I stand with Mr. Miller. I am pissed off too!!!!:furious:

You are kidding right? Tim Miller has the right to express his anger & frustration at the entire Anthony family for the way they treated him, cost his organization $108,000+ and then proceeded to insinuate that TM stole money? :furious::furious::furious:

IMO his words will NOT be counterproductive to his organization! Just look at how many people here at WS are willing to donate money to him NOW!!!!
